Is driving the carriage in DD 2 that much diffrent from walking in DD1?
They basically achive the same thing, going from one node to another while reducing touch, finding some loot, fighting enemies sometimes, some hero banter and taking some stress for no reason.... I don't see the big problem of apparently "riding wastes time" and "we could just click on the nodes" well we could have done it in the first game too but we didn't... We walked... So what's the big problem everyone had with the second time around?

These carriages (all c. 1900) are on display at the Museum of the Rockies on Bozeman, MT. This was my first trip to Montana; driving through the flats, river basins, and mountains reminded me of RDR2 the entire time.

TIL in the UK, Dangerous Driving laws only apply to motor vehicles- this resulted in a man who had killed a woman by hitting her with a track bike at 18mph being sentenced to 2 years in jail under βwanton and furious drivingβ, a Victorian-Era law intended for Horse Carriages.

Squeak noise from X carriage driving me nuts!
https://youtu.be/Wdc05DusM2E
What is making this intermittent "squeak" noise in the video? I put some new wheels + bearings from OpenBuilds a while back - are they supposed to squeak like this?
I have tried loosening the eccentric all the way (so the carriage is practically "flopping" on the axis) and it does help some but the sound never completely goes away.
Advice?
The printer is right next to me and I am trying to do technical work while listening to this thing. :(
Any help appreciated.

In the 1800, "Red Flag Laws" set rules for self-driving carriages
For example, in the UK, there was a law that required self-propelled vehicles to have a footman carrying a lantern or red flag (hence the name) walking in front of the vehicle as a warning to riders on horses, pedestrians, and such.
Fast forward to now, and all these laws are gone and, in fact, new laws are passed that ban horses on roads, etc.
What are the modern day self-driving car equivalent of these red flag laws?
Which also makes me wonder, how long until human driven cars are banned on certain roads?

Finds from yesterday. Any idea what the decorative brass piece is? Itβs the L shaped piece. One end is definitely broken. Big piece is a driving horse bit, so the horse was pulling a carriage or cart. Plus two buttons (one possibly silver) and a copper ring. Found on road w/ pre-revolutionary use.

Carriage driving ain't that hard, surely?
Dear players in posses I join/who join my posse: If you can't drive the carriage don't put yourself in the driver's seat. Only you know whether you can drive the damn carriages in this game or not and not a) drive them head long into ditches and trees b) roll them sideways down hills c) beach them on giant ass rocks etc. etc. Please stop. Also if you must insist on shooting enemies instead of letting your passenger do it, please don't just drive the carriage off the road toward god knows what in the meantime. Be aware of your surroundings! Extra important when you have multiple carriages: strategize! Are you going to keep the carriages together so you can all defend them, or spread out so that there's less chance of someone catching up to all your wagons at once? And finally: it really isn't a shortcut if you don't actually know where you're going--it takes skill to drive a carriage in and out of the dry river bed, through forests or across a narrow railroad bridge, and if you murder our horses on the border of Lemoyne when we've already come so far I'm going to be hella pissed. Also mostly it's embarrassing for you. The shame!
If anyone wants to share their tips for carriage driving, please do. Mine is 1st person mode, it's the only time I ever use it except for when I'm petting dogs (always pet dogs in first person mode, people). Closer to the road it's much easier to judge the gaps you're driving through, so you're much less likely to mess up. Also it makes drifting with the smaller wagons soooo much more fun, especially on snow.
