A list of puns related to "Capital budgeting"
I'm looking at a company that has an opening for a SFA position. It looks intriguing. I currently work in Corporate Finance and Planning, typical budgeting/forecasting P&L role with a some of cost accounting and shareholder reporting. Can someone that works in Capital Budgeting give me an idea of what their day to day is like or if you can talk about your overall experience? That would be great.
My managerial accounting class is whooping my ass. I have been assigned a Capital Budgeting case study. My professor has said that they will not be answering any questions, but I can I can use lectures, textbooks and the internet. So here I am! Anyway, I have a few questions on Net Cash Flow and Pay back periods. I have attached a copy of the assignment and some screen shots of my excel work. The case study says that $15000 has been budgeted for marketing over three years. This makes my annual net cash flow for the first three years different than the remaining 12. This is really throwing me off. I have created a table for the Payback period with Uneven Cash Flows and it makes sense to me. But, I have two calculations (one for years 1-3 & one for 4-15) for the accounting rate of return and Net Present Value. Can someone please tell me if I am on the right track? If I am not, I would appreciate any guidance on how to calculate and format the data.

Iβm a new grad starting on the deals finance team of a telco.
If anyone has any insights or advice about a role like this it would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Iβve so far gone through everything except the last three chapters in AI and last 4 chapters in CF. I would say Capital Budgeting is the most difficult subject to date. Thereβs just so many moving parts and different possible scenarios that can be tested which makes it impossible to comprehend.
I am struggling with FNCE 447 so far, due to a lack of textbook resources. Does anyone know how similar the first quiz was (Before the Sneaker/Persistance Case), and how to learn nuances with Capital Budgeting so I don't massively fuck up the first quiz?
Is there mnemonic for this 3 ugly but important formula
Initial Investment Outlay = FC inv + Net WC inv - Salvage Value 0 + (Salv 0 - BV 0). tax
Annual After Tax Operating CF Inflow = [Sales - Cash Opex - Depre] (1.tax) + Depre
Additional Last CF = Salv T + Net WC inv - (Salv T - BV T).Tax
I've used various budgeting apps and liked them but inevitably they stop syncing properly with Capital One accounts and it messes everything up. I've tried looking for ways to change permissions, privacy settings etc but it's always a problem. Has anyone else figured this out? I'd like to use an app but haven't found one that works yet.
Wokring currently as a Financial Analyst, but my regular job duties only involves the analysis of p&l and cash flow line items, variance analysis and preparation of various financial dashboards based on large data. I am really interested in learning financial forecasting, planning and capital budgeting. I have seen my manager preparing very complex business plans. How can I learn those things. Any short term course, online blog or book? Can anyone please guide.
Note: I am pretty good at Excel and financial modelling but lack the skills required for forecasting and budgeting.
I can't wrap my head around NPVs or ordinary annuities/annuities due. Or rather, I understand them, but I can never remember all the tiny bits and pieces to the formulas or which table to draw my PV values from. I'm also taking too long to calculate.
Does anyone know any good YouTube vids or tips on how to calculate more quickly or explain NPV and annuities in greater depth? My study unit feels too summarized in comparison to the actual MCQs.
Any hints would be greatly appreciated.
Hello all,
What would be the optimal way to solve discounted payback period questions (CF Capital Budgeting) using the BA 2 Plus?
Cheers.
