A list of puns related to "Camarillo State Mental Hospital"
Hey guys, I'm new to r/writing and I'm not too savvy on anything book-related but here's the deal: My dad wrote a book. It's about Camarillo State Mental Hospital in CA. For those who don't know, Camarillo State Hospital was a psychiatric hospital for both the developmentally disabled and mentally ill patients. It is infamous for the "haunted" and "horror" stories of events that happened there, just google "Camarillo State Mental Hospital" and you'll see what I mean. Tales of murder, suicide, brutality, mentally ill patients, attacks, etc. Gnarly stuff. One of the few hospitals to practice eugenics in the early 1900's. Tons of untold stories about the hospital that a lot of people have wondered about for decades. My dad was the Program Director for many many years before it was shut down in 1997, so he saw all of this in person and now wrote a nearly 200 page book about it. Even I have to admit, the stuff that went on there was insane, and his book is not for the faint of heart. Once the hospital was shut down, it became California State University Channel Islands. Tons of students there report haunted experiences, ghosts, etc., and from what I've been told, some students don't even go there because the school used to be the mental hospital.
My question is this: he's written the book and it's now finished. Now what? He's applied to a couple of different publishers but it's seemingly very hard to publish a book that is this graphic, he continues to get rejection letters because "his book doesn't fit [the publisher's] interest." Can anyone think of any other route he can take to publish it? Any advice you can give him? Does anyone know of any publishers that take these types of books?
Any advice is welcome, and feel free to ask any questions. Thank you guys in advance.
Thank you to everyone SO much for your contributions, suggestions, and advice. My dad is looking into several of the options that were suggested and thank you to those who gave links, very helpful. For those who mentioned interest in reading the book when it's published: I'll keep everyone posted! Thank you guys again for the help! You're all awesome! Feel free to keep the comments coming, we appreciate it!

I am a student and current resident of Channel Islands State University. The University is built on an old asylum that was abandoned in 95 I believe. This photograph was taken by a friend of mine inside the abandoned buildings on campus. I hope to gain access to the photo evidence form as I have much interest in the paranormal and will continue to post anything i come upon during my time here.
Now, if you look in the top right area, it really helps to zoom, you can see the clear outline of a head, hair, eyes, and mouth. Please take a good look ..

Long story short, my wife had an incredibly traumatic experience this year after never seeking help for most of her life and is now in impatient care. We live in MA but she is staying with her parents in IL, she will be transferred to a behavioral hospital in the coming days but she has been texting me about wanting a divorce. I know this is not her right now, but I am just curious if any lawyer would take this on as she has been making a few irrational/hastily decisions over the past year and trying to see what I should be prepared for.
We were chatting about going to couples therapy since before she went to the hospital we were fighting more due to hallucinations she was having which did bring up the "before any big decisions lets chat with someone", but now she has no interest in that.
