What do you wish CFA Institute would change about itself? I feel like the fees to take the exam are too high. If they lowered them, a lot more people would be willing to take the exam. Contrary to what might be intuitive, I think the CFA becomes even more prestigious, as I feel like this new influx of people might not take it as "seriously" as the current candidates which pay more and the passing rate would go down. What do you think?

I gave exam earlier today, this was my 2nd CBT attempt.
I think institute got some serious problem in which L3 is being tested.
Questions does not represent and does not test the curriculum at all - Questions are very unfamiliar and not comparable to Examples or EOCs in CFA books provided by institute. I did the Example and EOCs at least 4 to 5 time. Made my summary notes and memorized formulea by re-writing at least 20-25 times over last 2-3 months + past Am papers . I did 7 full mock exam (4 MM, 2 kaplan and 1 institute). I feel everything was waste of time because most of stuff is not even tested. All you see is mix of weirdly worded questions or very very simple questions.
Emphasis on test taking skill (and not knowledge test) like time crunch is extreme, many cleverly worded to trick you and bunch of vague and irrelevant text that does not help to solve the question. Why you torturing and wasting time of exam takers with all that?
Lack of transparency - institute does not share past paper, why? if they do people will easily can gap between curriculum and test which is being conducted.
If you share past papers candidates would at least know where they are going wrong in preparation and indeed it will increase the knowledge base.
On top of that you don't give breakdown of AM and PM score (starting CBT format) so you would never know if you failed because of AM and PM.
Overall, I genuinely think L3 exam is joke, its a complete BS and institute is playing with candidates in very very unfairly way. I won't be surprised if candidate comes mass level and raise voice against this stupid institute.
Its a joke to be honest, waste of time. Zero respect. This is my honest opinion irrespective if pass or not.

My middle name is on my passport but not included in my name for my CFA Institute Account. Level II exam in 6 days. Any chance I can still sit for the exam? I sent in the information via email to have my middle name added to my account, but they say that could take 30 days. Am I screwed? I was able to take Level I no problem.
Hello I’m getting asked for proof that I passed level one, I sent the verification letter that the institute provides but they told me they need an ID so they can validate it. Is that even possible? Also, can I share my CFA Institute ID just like that? Not sure if I should do that.

Hello everybody!!! I'm taking my Level I exam on 16th November and I'm starting to get a bit nervous. In the Ecosystem Learning I got 87% (approx. 2600 q of 3300 q) and on average in 4 Mocks from CFA Institute I got 75%. What else can I do to improve? Is the exam similar to the Mocks or do I have to be prepared for a different exam? I have the feeling of a high degree of memorisation, I don't know if any of you have experienced this.

Congrats to the (few...) that passed with this dreadful 25% pass rate. For most, the unfortunate news of not passing still stings but hopefully I can do my best to provide some sort of ... closure?

I was supposed to take the August CFA level 1 exam in Paris, but from the moment I paid the fees, I've been trying to schedule my exam in France, but not a single seat was available, I checked multiple times each week, but not a single seat was available, the only available ones were in the U.K.
I sent them multiple e-mails about this, to which they never answered! And now they answered me that since I didn't reserve a seat, and it's too late to do it now, I won't get to take another exam session for free, and I won't get a refund.
Is there any sort of legal action that I can take against them? Because this is a complete scam! Has anyone else been through this too?

There was little to no math in the PM. I just feel shred.
I was getting 78% on average in questions banks. I did mostly Kaplan question banks.

The following case happened in Vietnamese local time (GMT + 7).
I am living in Vietnam at the moment and about to take the CFA 1 exam on the 3rd week of July. Originally, back in 2020, I registered to take the exam in the February 2021 window. But a Covid-19 outbreak in my residential city near the end of February made the Institute to change my exam to this July.
Just in the afternoon of June 23rd 2021, a person living in the alley right next to my residential address had been tested positive for Covid-19. I immediately sent an email on this matter to the Institute and about 3 days later, a staff replied back to me offering an opportunity to postpone to the November exam window. I saw that the Institute is still having an upcoming August 2021 window and asked if my exam date can be moved to the final week of August then, but they could not make an arrangement for me. Due to the usually overwhelming year-end workload at my company, on June 30th, I formally refused to sit the exam in November, and instead asked for my case being considered a COVID-19-Twice-Impacted following which the Institute would be giving me a full refund, per their Refund Policy for Postpone Candidates ( https://www.cfainstitute.org/about/governance/policies/cfa-program-refund-policy ). The staff replied with a refusal after just less than 30 minutes, citing the usual 14-day remorse period has long run out (!?).
I immediately screenshot their 'Postpone Candidate Refunds' terms on their website to include in my email reply so as to remind them of their own policy and thus to consider my case qualified for the full refund. 1st time sending the screenshot along with my demand of a thorough explanation in case of a further refusal to them just 10 minutes after the initial refusal, nothing came back to my inbox. Hence, in the evening of July 1st, for the 2nd time on the same inquiry ticket number, I followed up with a 2nd reply of their refusal email with the very screenshot I took earlier and formally asking them for a full refund or an explanation in case of refusal, but nothing came back to my inbox, too.
On the same day, I also learned that my residential area has been put under strict quarantine order (aka lockdown) by the authority. This effectively made participating the July exam all but impossible for me. Hence, on July 2nd, I decided to submit them a new

I have registered to sit L2 in Feb 2022, and just now received an email from CFAI titled 'Take it with you', on the different study methods. One of the points is 'Download the new CFA Institute Learning app using your Android or IOS', however I cannot see the app on Google Play store.

Prometric keeps saying "An error has occurred. Please refer to your sponsor for more details." When I try to schedule directly from the Prometric website, I can check the availability but I cannot schedule it. I have to schedule it by 15th August or my exam will be cancelled and fees will be non refundable. Really in a fix right now.

I’m studying for CFA level 1, and I’m wondering what kind of average score I should be shooting for on the CFA institute questions to be confident before the exam. I’m currently sitting at a 72% average score, but given what I read on this sub about MPS and passing percentages, I’m worried…. Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

Yeah just wanted to put that out there. CFA Institute is least bothered to help candidates obtain info. Seems like there is just one person at their help desk. What's the point of a 24/7 helpline if even after waiting for an hour nobody responds?
Does/Has anybody else found the CFAI Level 1 FRA Questions ridiculously difficult and time consuming?? After going through the Kaplan Schweser questions poorly the first time round, after a review of my notes, I felt a lot more comfortable with the questions I got wrong on these Kaplan questions. But CFA Institute seems to be a different beast altogether - even after multiple reviews of my notes, I still estimate that I guess / have a very limited understanding of 25-30% of the entire FRA question set. Strange as I have not noticed such a significant difference in the difficulty of questions between Kaplan and CFAI in other topic areas. Am I alone in feeling this way??
