Not that interesting but Iβm just a huge valanciunas fan
The dude is murdering the Kings on the boards. Right now he has 20 points and 21 rebounds. 8/12 shooting perfect from the line. Dude is going ham and I love it
Pretty impressive stuff happening in Denver right now.
The franchise has set a record for its best 50 game start to a season and has a chance to break its franchise record for regular season wins (57) in what is likely their first post-season run with this core of players.
On top of that, theyβve had to endure the most games lost due to injury this season and are the second youngest team in the league.
We have seen our true starting lineup of Jamal Murray, Gary Harris, Will Barton, Paul Millsap and Nikola JokiΔ only twice this season.
Just some pro NurkiΔ info, you've been hating on my boy too much.
After seeing that a lot of board gamers keep stats of their games played, I was curious if anyone has unbelievable high scores in games that seem like an unbeatable record. But mostly I'm bored and looking for a good board game discussion thread
I just picked up Terraforming Mars for $45. There were lots of others as well.
I asked why and they said that they are just doing their spring clearing and they are getting new titles in soon.
I don't know if anyone else would be interested in them posting videos of them playing other board games, but I know I would love to watch it.

I leave for school tomorrow so tonight my family and I decided to play a board game. I know Iβm going to miss them like crazy and I really love capturing moments so I decided to set up my phone to record us. Iβm now happy to report that I have a lot of hilarious moments to watch when Iβm missing them.
I have a community project going on to record all of the investigator short stories from the Investigators of Arkham book. You can check out the ones that the community has done on my youtube channel.

I'm from Greece, and many times when I see people's collections from countries with higher wages I ask myself what their approach to boardgaming would be if they weren't in a wealthy country. Of course I'm not talking about extreme poverty but countries like Brazil (although I know there are regions there that face extreme poverty) where from what I know, wages are not high and games are more expensive.
Greece is in the middle ground, basic full time salary is 480 euros -which is not enough to get by by any means- and I am in the middle class with around 1400/month which is considered mid-high salary so I can buy games quite regularly but I have to save for say an 80euros game. So a 50euros game is 1/28 of my wage. For someone else it could be 1/10 of their salary, where I guess they wouldn't even consider buying games at all.
What would you do if you lived in a country like that? Would you approach gaming in a different way, like online only for example? Would you have some prized possessions despite their cost? And what about people who actually live in those countries and are now reading this post, what is the situation there and what can you do about it?
Edit: From the replies I'm reading, there seems to be a misunderstanding that I'm talking about me or Greek people in general not being able to buy games, where this is not the case. As I mentioned above, here things are not too good but not too bad either and I don't have the right to "complain" about me because I'm fortunate enough to have a well paid job by Greek standards.
Looking for a recommendation here: my friends and I are starting to play Arkham Horror (think a nerdy board game without the board, sort of). None of us really has a table. We thought about maybe going to a bar or restaurant to playβwhich ones would be good? Preferences: quiet, or maybe even a private room; big table; ok to play for like 3 hours or so (we will constantly be buying drinks and apps). Thanks!
hello everyone,
holidays are rapidly approaching (or are here depending on who you ask) and i am scrambling to get gifts for everyone on my list. I have been trying to support local game stores but most of the people I am sending gifts to live far away. in an attempt to cut out some of my middleman work (ie shipping games myself), I am looking for stores that do good work online, whether that's their own website or on eBay. even ordering over the phone would be fine. who are your local favorites that deal in this sort of business?
Thanks!
edit: I was asking for USA only (my bad, being America-centric) but maybe others will find UK/CAN/EU/other Int'l sites useful
I started a game club at my high school for my students, and it has exploded in popularity. We now have over 20 people a week attending regularly, organizing tournaments for the local food bank, and purchasing our own games. Love the popularity, but need to be able to pull some data so all those skeptics can see the impact. Data is the new catch phrase in education =)
Are their any android apps (i have a Nexus 7) that I can use to keep track of how many times we play each game? I thought I saw a discussion earlier, but can not find it. I could do it in excel, but that ties me to my desk top. Any suggestions? Thx!
epilogue: Thank you to all of you. I grabbed the Board Game Geek app for my own use, and am going to clone the Google sheets for the game club. I think my students will be all over watching the stats change and all. Since I am a math teacher, that makes me very happy. This is another example why I love this sub.
Iβd like to ask for such a printer for Christmas, and if I get one use it to print board game pieces for my family, friends, and workplace since many pieces across several games have been broken or lost.
Optimally it would have multimaterial support so I can avoid painting the pieces as Iβm not an artist.
EDIT: Maybe βmultimaterialβ is the wrong term, but the use case would be to just use many different filament colors on one print. Iβve seen some options on Amazon that could fit the bill from $300-800, so to place a price on an βinexpensiveβ printer could be less than $1,000.
Novels like, The Stand by Stephen King and Earth Abides.
And board games with SHTF situations, playing in a Post-Apocalyptic world with such scenarios.
The box was relatively small, maybe a little bit bigger than a Cards Against Humanity box, and was dark bluish green with a tree in really pretty art.
The game itself included 6 little goblin-looking figurines, and there were two small ones, two medium, and two chonky ones, all holding a leaf. It also included some cardboard tokens that matched the color of the base the figurines stood on. I know it also had two dice. I think the dice went from 1-3, but I'm not sure, and it came with a foldable board that was longer than it was wide with a tree on it. There also might've been some cards?
The point of the game was to get your little spirit to the top of the tree first by rolling the dice. I remember you could end up rolling wind that could blow you down if you chose to play the small spirit. The large spirit remained still when wind blew. I think it was loosely Japanese based? And for some reason, I remember the game having a whole separate French instruction booklet. Oh, and it was a 2-4 player game
I read the rules for content submission, so I think this is fine? If not, please let me know under which daily thread I should submit this to. Thank you.
Edit: /u/TPbumfart found it, and it's Kiwetin! Thank you to everyone who offered their help though, I greatly appreciated it!
