Elliptic curve scalar multiplication k.P, where k is a nonnegative constant and P is a point on the elliptic curve, requires two distinct operations: addition (ADD) and doubling (DBL). To reduce the number of ADDs without increasing the number of DBLs, a recoding of k with fewer nonzero digits is necessary. Based on Radix-2w arithmetic, we introduce a principled w-bit windowing method where the properties of speed, memory, and security are described by exact analytic formulas as proof of superiority. Contrary to existing windowing algorithms, to minimize the number of ADDs the window size (w) is guided by an optimum depending on the bit-length (l) of the scalar k. The number of required precomputations is minimal regarding the value of w. The proposed method recodes the binary string k and evaluates the multiplication on-the-fly from right-to-left and left-to-right, likewise. Radix-2w method is very easy to be used and highly reconfigurable, allowing speed-memory and speed-security trade-offs to satisfy different crypto-system constraints. Furthermore, the method shows a high resilience to side-channel attacks based on power, timing, and statistical analysis. All Radix-2w properties are confronted to standard windowing methodsβ through an in-depth analysis of the complexities. An overall comparison is made via NIST-recommended GF(2l) finite fields.

After enough times running multiple flashlights, and not being sure of how blinding they are, I finally decided to take matters into my own hands.
Using a rangefinder, i got approximate distances and tested blinding effects INDOORS. At a later time i will check out the blinding effect outdoors, but I'm about to head to bed. I hope this helps anyone who has been wondering this!

Basically, title. I still see lots and lots of comments about how bad Take My Breath is. Remember when the comments were similar when Blinding Lights came out? Iβm pretty sure some of the people saying TMB is bad is just because it didnβt do that well on the charts.
Itβs a beautiful song and a very interesting one indeed, i think that it had other reasons why it didnβt chart well, but thatβs not because itβs a bad song.
Edit: To the people saying that they just donβt like the song, thatβs fine and valid. I didnβt say that everyone didnβt like it because of the charts, but there is a percentage for sure.

EDIT: as a glorious additional tifu, I went to the hospital yesterday because I had a blood clot in my leg. Superficial thankfully, a 3-month cycle of blood thinners and some increased motion should cure it fine. Happened a month ago. I'm on a combination of blood pressure medications that cause the occasional floppy phallus. To keep the gears running, I got a prescription from my doctor for generic Viagra, 20 mg a day. I met a new girl whos libido doubles my own, and I'm pretty fond of her. To keep her interested I asked the doctor to double my script. Meaning 60 a month instead of 30. Instead, she doubled the amount each pill contained. More than double.
Fast forward to about a month ago, when I picked up my new prescription I noticed that there were the same amount of pills so I figured she just didn't do it. I did notice the pills were larger than usual, but they were also a different shape. I figured it was just a different manufacturer.
Turns out, each pill is 50 mg not 20. We had morning sex, and later on she was feeling Randy again, so I took another one. This pattern continued for a few days. At some point I lost track of how much I was taking. Still assuming each was only 20 mg.
At some point, I noticed that my vision at any distance was blurry. Even with my glasses on. It was like my prescription changed intensely overnight.I had to get within six feet of anything to be able to focus on it.
I was freaking out. I did a lot of research and made a few phone calls, and went to see an optometrist. Turns out some people can have some serious visual malfunctions if they take over 100 mg a day. I was probably taking 150 for a few days straight.
I'm writing this now because my vision has returned and I can laugh it off. But damn. I thought I really fucked up bad.
TLDR; increase my Viagra prescription but misread the dosage. Ended up having severely blurry vision for almost a month.

Basically if someone wears willy billy colors it can blend in with your enemy you color and it's just fucking annoying. I don't care about other people's coatings. If it's free for all sure I can appreciate a cool look. But I really don't give a shit if your Spartan is gold in team slayer. I care if I can quickly ID you, because as it stands now the glowing enemy color just makes it hard for me to see anything next to said enemy, which is a pretty big deal if there are two enemies next to each other.
