My SO and I are traveling to Long Island next weekend for a show at Amityville Music Hall. We decided since we’ll be in town, to drive by the amityville house and visit the gravesite of the DeFeo family. That night we’ll be staying with a friend in Brooklyn and then the following afternoon having lunch with some of my family in NJ. Does anyone know of any murder houses along that route that we could check out as well? I’m considering the Snedeker house on the way home (we live up in New Hampshire) but there were no murders there and the haunting was likely fake anyways, so I’m on the fence about it.
I understand that the family currently living in the amityville house aren’t super happy about visitors so I’m really just trying to drive up, snap a couple pictures, and leave before they notice (hopefully) just because I don’t want to be too invasive of their privacy. Has anyone visited there before? Anything else I should know?

EDIT July 28: Owner Found! On a hunch, I stopped by the Caribbean place that had recently opened up located in between my apt and the subway. Spoke with the chefs. They accurately described the bag and contents and said that they belonged to the sous, who was not in today. I gave the knives to the chefs and said I'd be in tomorrow to make contact with the knives' owner.
Full disclosure: I'm not a chef, nor do I work in the industry, but this sub has impressed upon me the the value that chefs place on their knives and other tools.
