A list of puns related to "Backward chaining"
Hello! I am trying to use backward chaining to implement Resolution for a set of clauses. I couldn't find any implementation of this algorithm in prolog. Does anybody have any idea of an example for this algorithm? Thank you.
For example: My kid is tasked with cleaning her room. I help her until the very last task of putting her pillows on her bed. When she can do that without prompting, I stop helping a step before that and she has to put her stuffed animals in the basket and then her pillows on her bed. Fairly straightforward.
But, does this system break down when the steps in the chain are changed? Like, if she doesn't have stuffed animals to put away today and instead it's her shoes that need to be put on her shelf. Is the system now broken? Should I have to prompt each step? Is this no longer a chaining procedure because it isn't the same series of steps every time?
For the record, I'm talking about my own, neuro-typical child who gets to be my test subject while I try out all of these procedures that I'm learning about in grad school.
Hey all,
I'm a Behavior Specialist supervising a group home for adults with Autism and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. The majority of the individuals that I'm working with are non-vocal/non-speaking. Many of them are using PECS, but a few are transitioning to SGD's, specifically Proloquo2go. I've done a little research and developed my own protocol, but it seems like SGD + ABA is still the wild west and there really isn't clear best practices.
My current approach is:
Folder with highly preferred items activities and functional communication responses (i.e. "stop", "help", etc...)
That's about it without copying and pasting the 10 page protocol. Interested to hear your thoughts.
I imagine that a Prolog program with a database of the Data.Time
API could answer queries like,
Day
, what are the possible types I can "convert" it to, and how? Literally, show me the code. And to take it one step further: a Haskell app which consulted this Prolog knowledge base would be in a position to actually perform the transformation. This is moving towards automatically written software.
The title says it all. When pedalling backwards the chain moves onto a lower gear. No such problem when going forward. I'm presuming it's something to do with the rear derailleur cage, but being a bike maintenance philistine I'm non the wiser. Help!
Common sense tells you that if you're teaching someone a skill, you start with part 1 and go to part 2 and so on, but the easiest way to teach a child how to tie a pair of shoes is to start with the last part. It's called backward-chaining. With a shoe that's completely tied except for the last part, the child starts by learning to do that one thing. When the child has got that down pat, the parent teaches the child a little more to do at the end. The parents teaches the child to do more and more to complete the task until at last it's DIY.
Some actors like to learn their lines by writing them down, but making sound recordings allows learning more than just the words. Audio provides timing and intonations. The actor can record a scene with the characters' dialogue, listen to it a few times, then learn it with backward-chaining.
I have a regression problem where I have to do the following things
I have to predict the independent variable from dependent variables.(FORWARD CHAINING)
And also I need to say what values of the dependent variable might have caused a particular value of the independent variable(BACKWARD CHAINING).
If somebody has any resources or code for implementing Forward and Backward chaining for regression problems , PLEASE HELP.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!
r/autism, I'm currently going through a task analysis for backwards chaining to teach teeth brushing. I've found that the word 'spit' is quite unprofessional. Can you help me think of a better message for 'spit the toothpaste into the sink.'?
I'm taking an into AI CS course. Tomorrow's my exam, and so in reviewing my notes i'm getting stuck on this problem that the teacher has yet to grade and get back to us. I was wondering if anyone could clarify for me?

Question 1: How do you "keep creating facts"? I understand going through like a normal logic gate, I realize that radiation will leak after the second condition, but i'm stumped if there is any iterative process?
Question 2: I just started at the bottom, and worked "backwards" (upwards) on the list of logic. I got to the second condition again and realized radiation would leak. Seems to easy...
I honestly canβt tell if this is stupid or not but Iβm gonna try to put it into words lmao. So normally for lead vocals I use two compressors set to different settings in order to make the vocals very sturdy in volume. I have no issues with the sound of this but I had a question: what if I had a vocal take that I for some reason wanted to be near perfectly compressed, but didnβt want to deal with the distortion that comes when most compressors are set to 0.0ms?
And then I had an idea: What if I
Is this a thing that some people do already? Iβm definitely going to try it when I get home and will see if it sounds like trash or not lol but I just couldnβt find anything else online and was genuinely curious
Thanks
I accidently installed the chain facing the wrong direction (I didn't realize it was directional). I was able to push the special pin back out, flip the chain and push the pin back in (it was very difficult to line up properly, with the tapered end broken off, but I got it). Everything looks good now. Is this ok to do or did I create a weak spot in the chain that could break more easily? Thanks.
Was just checking out my bike after having not touched it in 5 days and whenever I pedal backwards in the first couple gears the chain will come off.

I have the sram NX eagle drivetrain (shifter, derailleur, bb, etc.)
Does anyone know why this is happening?
Seeing the new Windows 11 release has actually changed my position on where I thought windows was going as whole. Iβm beginning to feel that the need to bring across pieces of the legacy software is hindering what windows could be. It could be so much more.
Imagine a version of windows that was completely recoded from the ground up with modern programming standards (yes all the new stuff does this, but there is a literal ton of legacy code still active within windows). I personally think C++ is still a solid language for this, but maybe you feel differently?
I donβt want two versions of windows, but I do wonder what would happen if they did keep the more legacy stuff for the business (pro versions?) side of things and began pushing the consumer side of things to a more streamlined version.
Am I nuts? Do I just not understand what is happening here?
Hey,
I have Shimano Deore XT 8100 series 1x12 (10-51T) drivetrain and when I'm pedaling backwards (especially) on the biggest coghwheel it's jumping down to 3-4th cogwheel. Can you tell me why? Is it normal?
