A list of puns related to "Avril 14th"
Any recommendations? Thank you.
I work at massage envy and heard Avril 14th during one of my massages. It really brightened my mood, I was ecstatic to hear something familiar.
Just wanted to share how I heard this in the wild. I wonder if aphex twin gets paid to have his content played there.
4, girl/boy song
The first time I heard the song was amazing, and Josh's cover is even better, not only for his audio quality, but also how he plays the notes, it's just perfect. There are many sheet music on internet but I wanted to check if he transcribed one of his own performance, and make sure to play the same notes. Hope there is one.
Personally I've always found this track to be a bit boring, especially compared against the rest of RDJ's catalog. I assume that Avril 14th is by far his most popular track on streaming platforms because of its inclusion on lots of unrelated "easy listening" playlists, being used as a sample by Kanye, and appearing on a few movie soundtracks. What do you think?
Avril 14th is probably my favorite Aphex Twin song and even one of my favorite songs ever. It seems to always play in my head, especially if I'm at like a park or school that I have happy memories. I really don't have much knowledge of music theory but I'm willing to look into what you guys say.
made a cover of Avril 14th using the original track and 5 of my favourite youtube covers layered on top of each other to sound like an orchestra, feel free to check it out:
Avril 14th is a track that has taken on a life of its own. I saw many covers on youtube over the years, and the algorithm has kept giving more. Recently I started to search them out and create a playlist. I was curious how many there were.
So far, I have added 520 to my playlist, plus an additional couple which cannot be playlisted, so I have added links in the description.

I've also got a separate list of remixes, 126 currently. Sometimes it can be hard to classify: cover or remix.

I have put my favourites at the start, in the first few dozen. I really like the sound of stringed instruments playing it, like the cello and banjo versions, and I think the one at the very start (by Nick Photinos) is something special. I love the versions with brass, the added warmth it gives. I enjoy the way the original composition is simple and elegant, yet the subtle complexities in rhythm and structure lead people to create their own alterations.
There are many different instruments found on the playlist, plus a few with singing on. I would love to hear more human vocal covers, e.g. barbershop quartet, Welsh Male Voice Choir, or Tuvan throat singing would all sound great, I think.
I hope you enjoy the list. Let me know your favourite, or if you have uploaded a version.
