A list of puns related to "Australian Transport Safety Bureau"
Hey all, just seeing if anyone has experienced this but once a week I'm having someone ring my apartment buzzer claiming to be from the ABS and that I have been selected by the government and I'm legally required to tell them personal information, if I don't there can be legal ramifications. This stinks to the high heavens to me and was wondering if this is legitimate and do I need to pass on this info?
Cheers
Thatβs it really. Itβs a 15 min drive, I have no transport.
Hello,
first a short background story: recently we were going for a paintball game at one Montreal facility and we exprienced an incident when somebody from other party (playing in next field) would intentionally shoot a full burst into my unarmed girlfriend point blank as she was just passing by through a safe corridor, OUTSIDE the playing area. Anyone who ever played paintball knows how something like this hurts (again, it was less than 2 meters). I found her laying on the ground in pain and crying a short while after. Apart from several ugly bruises she is lucky not to be seriously injured, but that could easily happen - she could get hit to neck for example. Nonetheless, this is a gross violation of safety rules. There is a reason you are not allowed to shoot outside playing area and have a safety cap on your gun. When I confronted the party about it, nobody came forward to admit it. So I turned to staff for help but they showed no effort to find the person responsible, basically just saying there is nothing they can do. What the F!! What shocked me even more was the staff didnt even ban the other group from further playing. They were like "Its their first time playing paintball". So what? If Im driving a car first time Im allowed to run over the people or what?
Now, Im not trying to get some compensation or whatever (they are lucky she didnt get seriously hurt), but I would like to know if there is any service or bureau that can have a look into their safety practices. If the staff is so careless about enforcing their own rules, its just a question of time before something more serious will happen. Its one thing to have an official rules and safety guidelines, but its a scrap paper if the staff pays no regards to them. Not to mention the whole staff were basically just kids, lol.
I have played paintball enough times to know this is not a common thing that "simply happens".
I take public transport a lot, including primarily routes that pass through downtown and Hastings street. There are often people who get on the bus in intense states from drugs and/or mental health. Iβve seen a lot of β¦ crazy shit because of this. Itβs not the bus drivers job to play security guard, but Iβve been in scary and borderline dangerous situations on a public bus. Thereβs been times Iβve texted the transit police, spoke to the driver about something happening at the back of the bus, and witnessed actual fist fights when another member of the public steps in to try to remove the dangerous person from the bus. Why donβt we have police or security guards stationed on certain bus routes? Is there another option?
