A list of puns related to "Amores perros"
To quote Cool Cat: "it was graaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnntastic!" The movie is incredible. Great acting, directing, cinematography, and an incredibly emotional story. I loved it. 9/10.
I watched the movie a couple of months ago and I was surprised to find out that not a lot of people know about the movie. It's a Mexican movie with a full Mexican cast (obviously).
It has a great story and great acting. In my opinion, it's one of the best foreign movies out there at the moment. The director is Alejandro González Iñárritu, and we know that he has done his fare share of movies and deserves all the respect we can give him.
But if you've never watched a foreign movie, which I doubt, or if you've never watched a Mexican movie, this would be the best one to start with.
Amores Perros is translated to Love Is A Bitch, which I get because they both have the word “love” and to an extent “dog” but as a Mexican I think Fucked Up Loves is a more fitting title.
My God, what a movie. Charged and alive, filled with perfect details. Brutal - those dogs, man. But masterful, too.
If you haven’t seen it, do.
This is the only film of his I’ve seen besides Birdman. What should I watch next?
Just received an email from my confidant Rachel that was entirely normal, except something at the end which happened to catch my eye. She mentions that her and her neighbor watched a movie called Amores Perros last night.
>"this Mexican movie called Amores Perros. Good, but not my ~thing~ it's about a car crash and how it affects the lives of three people and one of them is involved with some animal fighting"
Looked a little into this movie on google and it said "Amores Perros is a bold, intensely emotional, and ambitious story of lives that collide in a Mexico City car crash. Inventitively structured as a triptych of overlapping and intersecting narratives, "Amores Perros" explores the lives of disparate characters who are catapulted into unforseen dramatic situations instigated by the seemingly inconsequential destiny of a dog named Cofi."
So, it looks like the movie hits a lot of the themes we've been picking up on including intersecting stories, dogs, and even car crashes.
Thoughts?

Discuss this week's episode here!
(I realized I somehow totally missed making a thread for episode 5, "Noche de las Chicas", airing July 4, so my numbering was off for last week's thread as well.)
