In ESB, why would it have been better for the Empire fleet to come out of lightspeed at the outskirts of the Hoth system, rather than sneaking up on the Rebel base like Admiral Ozzel did?

I've always been confused as to the exact mechanics and science behind the decision of Ozzel to come out of lightspeed early and why it was considered a bad decision. Surely the Imperial fleet would have been detected if they had come out early and made a gradual approach towards the system?

Why would the rebels not have been able to detect the Imperial fleet had they decided to come out near the outskirts, thus not allowing them to activate a shield?

How much of the First Order fleet did Admiral Holdo eliminate?

With the light speed ram, we saw her take out the Supremacy, and the resulting debris can be seen to affect a large portion of the remaining empire fleet. Was this a significant portion of the active ships that the First Order had? I wouldn't imagine they'd send the whole fleet to eliminate the small portion of Rebel ships, but I wasn't sure. I'd appreciate any information on this, thanks!

As a Level 63 Fleet Admiral who's an absolute ship fanatic, but also want to get into PVP, what's the best course of action to do so?

Okay, so let me be clear, concise, and to the point. I'm a Fleet Admiral with only one T6 ship, no real Fleet to fly with, and as far as story missions are concerned, I've only done up to about... partway through New Romulus. I'm an Engineering FED with little to no experience in kits/abilities on the ground, nor any kind of MMO based game mechanics. Basically, when I start a ground mission, I flip on mouse control for ground weapons and away I go. Occasionally, I'll activate my support abilities like Drone Fabro or Minefield Fabro, but other than that, I have no idea what I'm doing. I point, shoot and hope I hit something.

Attempting to be true to Starfleet, I fight primarily with Phasers, though I know they're severely outclassed by other weapons. All of my ship weapons are either XI or XII purples, and my ground kit is severely lacking for both myself and my BOs, ranging anywhere from VII to XI Armor/Shields. Weapons though, are a comfortable XI or higher on everyone who needs them.

Because of this being overleveled conundrum, I've taken to starting a new character to progress through the story as a Fed Engi, but I am also going to want to do AoD and 22c Fed toons as well. But, are there really any advantages in doing so, or is it merely just a different way to experience their specific storylines?

[Game News] Amarr Third Fleet Admiral Speaks Out On β€˜Purity Of The Throne’ ~Lina Ambre

http://community.eveonline.com/news/news-channels/world-news/amarr-third-fleet-admiral-speaks-out-on-purity-of-the-throne/

DIADERI In a surprise move by the Amarr Navys Office of Press, The Scope was granted an exclusive short notice interview with Grand Admiral Ren Karetta, commander of the Amarr Navys Third Fleet this evening.

Speaking during a short break after an inspection tour of shipbuilding facilities in orbit of Diaderi II, Admiral Karetta expressed his utter delight at the news that Capsuleers have taken up arms against Purity of the Throne Insurgents, branding the organization targeting the Imperial Guard as an utter embarrassment to all those of Amarr heritage and a significant threat to the sanctity and security of the Amarr Empire.

The forty-five-year veteran of the Amarr Navy further praised capsuleer efforts, stating that while some may fear Empyreans, and hold a reserved and guarded view of those who operate as independent capsuleers, it cannot be ignored that they are a force to be reckoned with, and when harnessed correctly, can be an incredibly valuable ally.

When questioned regarding the short notice inspection of facilities in Diaderi, Admiral Karetta appeared to be keen to assuage concerns regarding security, saying that on my return from business in Yulai, where coincidentally, I had the pleasure to speak with several members of the Council of Stellar Management this week, I felt it prudent to take a short detour in order to inspect the progress on several dozen vessels of the Third Fleet that are currently gravdocked here. Routine refitting inspection, thats all.

In his closing remarks, Admiral Karetta lauded the incredibly efficiency of capsuleers in assisting to deal with the Purity of the Throne, before quipping perhaps well nano-coat the refitted vessels in white for a while, in celebration of the ascension of Empress Catiz.

The Amarr Navy highly encourages capsuleers who have taken up arms against Purity of the Throne to wear their colors in defiance of such unclean goals, and as a symbol of unity, celebration, and support for Empress Catiz.

Initial reports indicate that Purity of the Throne continue to operate in various locations across the cluster, with the Amarr Navy issuing frequent telemetry updates on known locations.

Thoros the Red, Captain-Admiral of the Burning Fleet

Reddit just messed up all my formatting. I fixed up the lines and stuff, but I'm gonna post the OG google docs link here anyways. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Q3d6HNKv1Due4c_QKAZwPULQzMStXTS2geyZh8s48ao/edit?usp=sharing

Name and House: Thoros the Red Age: 42 Cultural Group: Lyseni Appearance: Thoros looks younger than his age, perhaps it's his bald head, or maybe its his red robes. His face is a bit wrinkly, both from smiling too much and the sea. You know what? Just imagine show Varys, and book Thoros mashed up. You get the picture. He has reddish purple eyes. Gift(s): Leadership, Autodidactic Skill(s): Arson (May I introduce the author of the burning cog?), Bilingual (High Valyrian + Common Tongue) Negative Trait: Greyscale (Yes, I'm suicidal.) Starting Title(s): Captain of the Redstorm (And soon to be Captain-Admiral of the Burning Fleet, hopefully) Starting Location: Volantis Alternate Characters: Cedric Swann

BIOGRAPHY

On a fateful day in 256AA, a child was born to a fisherman by the foothills of the island of Lys. He was an unwanted mouth; the ninth child of a family that couldn’t feed even its first eight. Vahlaso had found him dangling over a well by his ankles. The traveling Priest deemed it the will of R’hllor that the babe was saved, and the Red God’s blessing was proven in the child’s eyes; Purple was common for the Lyseni, but Thoros’ was a shade rare even amongst the dragonlords of Old Valyria - the colour of fire, with all its flicker.

And so he grew within the Grand Temple of R’hllor in the city of Lys. It was decided before he could even walk, that Thoros would be sent across the Narrow Sea on the day of his 12th birthday, and mayhaps the boy blessed by the Red God shall bring the true faith to the heathens of the Seven Kingdoms. Under the unyielding gaze of Vahlaso, he began his training with endless staring into the nightfire. He was never quite talented for the task, preferring to watch the motion of servants tending the flame (Arson) to messages of R’hllor that had yet to be seen by him. It was not so for the languages, and the boy was able to gobble up both High Valyrian and the Common Tongue at an almost alarming rate (Autodidactic) (Bilingual)

A week before Thoros’ 12th birthday - or at least, the 12th anniversary of the day where he almost went for a long swim; his father having never quite told Vahlaso how old the babe had been - the boy was told his mission. β€œWhat? No!”

Thoros left the temple with nothing other th

Admiral fled, kept the fleet, please help

I had some event chain(not the regular bringing to trial one) where some guy fled his estate as my guards were arriving, so I ended up give his shit to his slaves. Only problem, it turns out he was the admiral of my only fleet, a 63 ship fleet, in the middle of a war. He fled to Macedon, except he didn't go anywhere. Despite my fleet still being nominally Egyptian, it is now controlled by someone nominally Macedonian, and acts as if controlled by a disloyal character.

Tl;dr: Admiral fled my nation, is still leading my fleet, please help
