A list of puns related to "Active Setup"
Is it worth playing with a fully idle setup if I could only play active for about 30 minutes a day. by this I mean play with cookie switch on always an with the shimmering veil + always use a idle pantheon setup. I that worth it or do I play with cookie switch and veil off and swap my pantheon setup when I am not idle? Thanks.
Hello friends. Was wondering what your setups were for free flow and intensive immersion.
I'm studying Korean and mine looks like Netflix/Youtube with language reactor.
For intensive immersion, I stop at the end of every sentence and go through each word (at most spending 30 sec). Will sentence mine if 1T. For freeflow, I look at the plot or English transcript ahead of time if I don't know the story. I occasionally sneak peak at the sentence translation if I'm completely lost. I'll also stop to save a word if I remember hearing it a couple of times before.
Curious to hear what other ppl are doing and/if I should tweak something.
Iβm in the military so I get SCRA/MLA benefits which include no annual fees on all American Express and Chase cards and no fees at all on my Capital One Savor. Iβm looking to see if Iβm missing any cards for categories I donβt currently have or am maximizing. I wanna get some more Chase cards but Iβm waiting until my 5/24 is up later this year. My current setup is as follows:
AMEX BCP: 6% Groceries
Cap One Savor: 4% Dining/Entertainment
Samβs Club MasterCard: 5% Gas
USAA Cashback Rewards Plus AMEX: 5% Base Exchange
US Bank Cash +: 5% Cell Phone/Home Utilities
Chase Amazon Prime Rewards: 5% Amazon
Discover It: 5% Rotating
BoA Customized Cash Rewards: 3% Online Shopping
Citi DoubleCash - 2% Everything Else
AMEX Platinum - Airline/Hotels
Any cards I can replace or add on to my deck?
I have a pretty small space for speakers (on tv cabinet), now I want to upgrade my JBL Soundbar to a something more decent, and I'm undecided whether to get an (1) AVR+Bookshelf speakers 2.0 setup or just (2) active speakers like Edifier or something.
Budget wise, I'm actually okay to spend around US$1k for option 1 (2.0 setup with room to add on subwoofer later on), but I'm not entirely sure if it will really sound much better than a say $200-300 active pair of speakers.
I guess where I'm coming from is, anything is an upgrade from my JBL Soundbar, but I'm not 100% convinced whether I should do a baby step or start building a proper 2.1 or even surround systems in the future (maybe 1-2 years down the road).
Advice is appreciated!
So Iβm getting a Fluance RT85 tomorrow that I found on an online marketplace for half the price. My current setup is an AT LP60XUSB with Edifier R1280T. I know itβs the most common beginner setup, I got it years ago when I was still in college and Iβm ready to put in some money and upgrade. I have no idea where to start though.
I was looking at STRDH-190 and some passive speakers but Iβm willing to put some more money in for better quality if possible. Kinda worried I buy that receiver and end up with audio quality that isnβt much better than what i currently have. Maybe Iβm overestimating this current setup.
I currently have this setup in my room but Iβm moving into a bigger place and it will end up in the living room (medium sized room). Iβd say Iβm willing to spend up to 600 for speakers and either a pre amp+amp or for a receiver but Iβm not sure which is the better option. Also donβt want to be limited in the future when Iβm ready to upgrade again. Could use some advice as Iβm not very knowledgeable on audio equipment. Thanks for reading.

Hi guys. I've been following this subject for about 6 months now. Im 24 and still have relatively little expenses but i want to get my credit built already so I'm prepared after I finish grad school! Thanks everyone for your advice but I come here seeking more!
My ultimate goal: maximum Cash back with no annual fee
Here is my set up:
US bank Cash Plus BoA Custom Cash Discover IT Chase Freedom Unlimited
Goal cards:
Citi Custom Cash WF active Cash Perhaps product change to Flex ( don't care about the sub)
What do you guys recommend I attempt next in maybe 3 months?
My personal plan of action is product change Unlimited to Flex and soon after get WF active Cash. Last one would be Citi Custom Cash
I currently have a pair of Klipsch R-150M that I was planning on using with my Rega RP-1. I would need an amp + phono stage to complete the setup. I had my eye on a Cambridge AXA35. However, the Klipsch R-41PM caught my eye at the same price ($350) as the Cambridge amp. The end result either way is that I have a complete setup.
Now I know the difference between powered and passive speakers, but sound quality wise, does anyone have any thoughts on what would sound better between the R-41PM and the R-150M + AXA35?
The simplicity of the R-41PM setup (only turntable and speakers!) is very appealing to me.
OTOH, the added flexibility of having the AXA35 and being able to mess around with random estate sale passive speakers could be fun.
The reason Iβve selected these specific products is that I have a little $$ to spend at Crutchfield and these products are in stock.
Has anyone done setup of 3 node AWX with active active configuration and external db
I have a dorm too where I am trying to get some decent sound in. I do not want to have a amplifier in my room as there isnβt too much space. Is it even possible to have two active bookshelf speakers with an active subwoofer?
If so I am looking for a setup around $500-$600. I know you guys will tell me to just get amplifier, but I know you guys are all very knowledgeable and know this stuff. So let me know what you think.
EDIT: Seems like subwoofer could be bad idea in dorm, so looking for best sounding bookshelf speakers on their own, that have decent base still. ~$400
Specifically, how when him and his friends are not in the same house (at least it appears they are not to me) Max still has captured each of their gameplay footage and webcams from his home PC. How exactly are they doing this?
I have been wanting to figure out how to possibly do something similar to capture my friends webcam and gameplay as seperate elements to resize and manipulate, and I cannot figure out how a good way to do this is.
If anyone has any ideas as to how its working, I would appreciate it
I have a pair of active bookshelf speakers (JBL LSR305) and LG OLED TV with optical input. I looking to buy a subwoofer to build 2.1 system. I also plan to buy a center later to make it 3.1. I am also open to getting another subwoofer at some point.
I am not able to figure if I should go the AVR route or DAC route to tie it all together and which brand & model should I get.
If I do AVR, from what I read the basic AVRs as not good compared to same price DACs like from miniDSP, but AVRs offer a lot of functionality and expandability. Also I won't be able to connect my active speakers directly and would need some pre-outs? This seems to be in more mid tier category (~$1500) of AVRs if I want some good sound processing.
For DACs, I am not able to find something that can connect to a 3.2 system.
Please advise how should I think about building my system. Thank you!

There is one called Alcohol & another called Inebriation. Both have the same effect description but different durations. Source was Alto Wine.
Also a follow up question, if it's a bug, would these effects be stacking?
Hey all,
I have been working in a single-room home studio for a while, and gradually improving the acoustic treatment in the room. One issue that I've never been able to solve is the fan noise from my desktop PC. I'd like to just move the PC to another room, but I did some measurements, and I'll basically need a 25 foot USB cable to reach all the way there. If I get active USB extension cables, and run my audio interface off of one and a powered USB hub with my webcam, keyboard, mouse, etc on the other one... will that work? I know that 25 feet is longer than a passive USB cable should be, but will using powered ones work?
My BTS is a Halmahera. I currently have some springtails, going to be getting more. Iβm looking to get some isopods. The humidity I have set at 86%, and I use a fogger. The hot side of his tankβ¦ I just canβt seem to get it as high as it needs to be. It might be the winter?
What types of isopods do you all use?
What do you put inside for your springtails?
