Chris Evans appeared as Captain America in a movie every year for 9 straight years (2011-2019). This is a record that might not be ever be broken by another MCU actor. Further, this might not be something we see ever again in the film industry.

2011- Captain America: The First Avenger (Lead)

2012- Marvel’s The Avengers (Lead)

2013- Thor: The Dark World (Cameo)

2014- Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Lead)

2015- Avengers: Age of Ultron (Lead)

2016- Captain America: Civil War (Lead)

2017- Spider-Man: Homecoming (Cameo)

2018- Avengers: Infinity War (Supporting)

2019- Avengers: Endgame (Lead)

Robert Downey Jr.’s longest streak of playing Iron Man in consecutive years was 5 (2015-2019).

This is just meant to be a fun discussion. Will we ever see another MCU actor appear in a movie for 9 straight years? Will we ever seen an actor doing anything close to this outside of the MCU.

And to get ahead of the people who are going to say β€œtHoSe WeRe JuSt CaMeOs,” it doesn’t really matter. He still appeared in the movie. As far as I can tell there isn’t another actor who has a year-to-year streak of playing the same character anywhere close to this.

Films similar in style to Drive (2011) and Shame (2011) (in terms of story-telling I guess)

I'm not sure the two are that similar but they are two of my favourite films and I've watched them both many times. I like the way they tell the story, they don't have characters narrating everything to you and communicating every one of their thoughts, you're basically judging them on their actions. You don't really know what's going on in their heads (but not in the way that they are making completely irrational idiotic things either, the way that happens in cheap horror movies).

I like Eyes Wide Shut (1999) as well.

Any "similar" films?

I'm having a look through the search as well for the individual titles. It seems like "films like Drive" is an "FAQ" basically.

Film at MOMA in 2011

There was a film exhibit at the MOMA in (I think) 2011 that was a room with two films projected on opposite walls simultaneously. One was of stock traders in a pit and the other was a militia. The two films ramped up in intensity simultaneously and their sounds intermixed.

I can't remember the title of the piece or the artist and I may not even have the year correct. I searched past exhibits on the MOMA website and I couldn't find it. If anyone remembers this piece and can give me any information, I would appreciate it.

Thank you!
