Taking inspiration from arena-based action in previous DIRT games, South Africa's Cape Town Stadium is the perfect setting for some close-quarters racing with jumps, crossover and a roaring crowd. Take the action through the stadium, the parking lot, and the outer area for a thrilling route, available in Career, Arcade and online play with up to 12 cars on track.
Whether you’re entering a Checkers, parking your car, leaving a KFC, waiting at a robot, walking to literally anywhere, or even standing at YOUR porch, there will inevitably be someone begging you for money…
I used to give a few people here and there but to be honest I don’t even carry my wallet anymore (cause contactless pay), let alone physical cash. This now makes these interactions extremely awkward.
What makes it hard annoying is that the more you interact with people asking for money, the more they refuse to let you out of the conversation by trying to manipulating you into giving them literally anything or buying something for them.
To be honest, even by greeting them back you find yourself being lured into a whole conversation where you spend at least 30 seconds justifying why you can’t give anything. Honestly, they don’t respect boundaries and will not hesitate to even follow you around which is really uncomfortable… especially coupled with the crime around Cape Town.
So, as the title says, it’s come to the point where I don’t interact with any stranger on the street at all. I barely respond to greeting, I don’t make eye contact, and don’t even engage in any attempt to conversation.
This makes me feel shit because humans shouldn’t be treating each other like this, but over the years it’s become the most straightforward way to deal with this. There is a guy who comes to my home for a packet of small groceries twice every week but for everyone else I’ve just closed off and it feels so inhumane…

In a few weeks, my company will be sending me from the USA to Cape Town for a 3 month business trip to help train and manage a new team. I'll be staying in an Airbnb near the CBD.
Some Questions:
- I've read that lockdown/curfew has been lifted recently. In my state (Arizona), there's little to no Covid restrictions, but what are things like in Cape Town? Are gyms open for group classes, and are bars and clubs open? What's the mask situation like?
- I grew up in Southern California surfing a few times a month, and definitely want to get back into it. What's the closest beach to the CBD that has good surf?
- Can you share some of your "you cannot leave without trying _____" recommendations? I want to try to fit in weekend trips to the wineries, national preserves/hikes, surf, and potentially overnight safari or weekend trips to JoBurg/Durban. What else would you recommend?
