A list of puns related to "1986 FBI Miami shootout"
The FBI knew well before hand that suspect one had a semi auto rifle (mini-14) and suspect two had a pump shotgun.
As I understand, there was one FBI agent with a pump action shotgun of his own, but he got shot in the arm early on in the fight, and wasnβt able to return fire until later on in the incident, the rest had semi auto pistols and revolvers.
My questions are:
Why did the FBI agents bring mostly handguns to a felony stop?
At the time, could the agents have gotten authorisation from their superiors to bring their personally owned long guns to work?
Why didnβt they get issued long guns?
This case was HUGE in South Florida at the time. All the places involved in the case were in my old stomping grounds. But what was really weird is that it didn't come out until after these guys gunned down 5 fibbies, killing two, that BOTH of their ex-wives had died under highly unusual circumstances. Platt's ex-wife Regina was found dead of a shotgun to the mouth, and the suicide ruling still applies, though nobody believes that. Not now, anyway.
But the murder of Matix's ex-wife Patricia and her co-worker Joyce McFadden is truly bizarro. They were both found shot to death at their work in a lab at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, NM. The weird thing is Matix told Police he thought she was cheating on him with Platt! Most people think it was all a ruse to confuse police. Either way it worked. So I've been trying to let Google guide me, but I can't find anything as to whether there's ever been any movement on closing the case since everybody pretty much knows who did it. Does anybody local know anything of what the status of the case is? Thanks for any input.
We're stronger now than ever. Keep up the great work everyone WAGMI !
