For me first off the musical is one of the worst. I’m not a huge musical fan to begin with, but the songs every 45 seconds is off putting and I can’t finish it. The other one that comes to mind (I don’t even know what season or episode it is) is the werewolf one where the guy thinks he’s becoming a werewolf. I can’t stand that one.

Yep! You read that right, my downstairs neighbor, Gladys will be turning 105 this December!

As you can imagine, the last two years have been challenging for her with the pandemic and all (this is also the 2nd pandemic in her lifetime-so crazy). People have stopped visiting her or are limiting visiting her. She also can not hear worth a shit so masks and social distancing really does not help. Thankfully, her daughter did move in with her with the last few years so she isn't living alone anymore.

Anyways, I did talk to her daughter yesterday and gave her a heads up that I'm doing this card request again (I did one for her 103rd, I think) and she seemed pretty excited that someone is thinking of her mom in that sense. Her birthday is sometime within the first two weeks of December.

Her are a few things Gladys likes, cats and dogs (her apt has more cat decor, but I've also brought dogs I'm pet sitting for her to pet and she was thrilled), flowers and soft floral colors, she has god only knows how many grand, great grand and great great grandchildren, she has a sweet tooth (please don't send baked treats, just thinking bakery themed cards or w/e). When you're able to have a conversation with her where she can actually hear you, she's quite funny. She is pretty 'there' mentally, and I think most confusion goes back to the hearing issue haha. She's had cancer, has broken a hip, has been widowed for 30+ years and lord only knows what other things life has thrown at her, but she's still trooping along!

My plan is to have the cards delivered to my address and then just give them all to her at once, however, I know our post office and I am sure some will just be delivered straight to her apartment regardless of which apartment is listed. It's a small town, everyone seems to know her or know of her and everyone at the post office is fully aware that I get a lot of mail with other people's names on it. Plus, one of the post mistresses is Gladys' friend. :]

Day 2:

The sunlight awoke the tributes quite early. After a quick breakfast composed of dried meat and bread, the tributes from 1 and 2 started hunting again. While walking in the corridors, Eugeny and Zinem discussed about their youth in their respective districts. Eugeny gave Zinem a look of pity when she explained her poor situation, then described how her wealthy parents had helped her get way more tesserae than possible in order for her to be chosen. After that, the girl from 1 stayed silent.

As they approached the wing where Organza and her alliance had hidden, a cannon sounded. It was shown to belong to the boy from 9, who had been pushed down the monumental staircase by Testa (12), breaking his neck on impact. As the 12 scampered away, Eugeny suggested that Apollo and Zinem go investigate the source of the cannon, while Harrod and her continued the other way. Zinem agreed, aware that they would be able to cover more ground. The group separated, and a few minutes later, Zinem and her ally were able to see the boy being removed by a menacing claw. They checked many rooms, not finding any tributes.

The cameras switched around to show the other tributes hiding in different points of the palace, most of them at the opposite of where Zinem and Apollo were. Cifer (3) and Fir (7) had decided to ally and were now raiding the kitchens. Roger and Testa (12) had found a way into the attic, where they managed to get away from the careers. Finally, Jeniss (10) was trying to barricade herself in the gallery.

If the arena seemed a little empty, it was because there were six tributes hiding in a single dining room. They had stayed silent all morning, hearing the footsteps of other tributes. Merrin and Cali (6) seemed to be the most affected by the “second day effect”, staring into space and shivering most of the time. Organza kept watch at the door, hoping the careers would not come back.

Unfortunately, they did. This time, they opened every door, slamming them in frustration. Harrod was silent, but Eugeny’s screeching could be heard a long way. The alliance started panicking. They had a solid barricade going on, but that meant that they were stuck inside. Organza had seen the careers gathering a scary number of weapons, and she was certain the door would give up before they did. There were no hiding places either, and Polo (4)

Cars which enter Lane 1 but are prevented from making a qualifying attempt will have their withdrawn time reinstated.
