Hi all I've registered to give birth at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich in London, just because it's closest to where I live. I realise I don't know anyone who's given birth there or talked to anyone about their experience. I looked up some reviews on the NHS site and found some negative experiences regarding the maternity ward, but I wonder if it's more normal for hospitals to have more negative reviews than positive. But it's made me a bit anxious.
I haven't lived in the UK long so I'm not very familiar with the NHS, and I want to make sure we make the right choice for where to deliver.
Has anyone delivered at QEH, or have any advice on how I can make this decision? I'm 19 weeks so I think I have time to re-register if needed...

Ive been looking to buy a flat in London with good transport connections. Woolwich is in my budget but how is it like as a town to live? It does seem to have a diverse and artistic vibe.

Hi all, apologies if general queries like this aren't allowed, but I was hoping someone can answer this as I have struggled to find an answer online. I cycled along the Thames Path from Woolwich to Erith yesterday and realised that there is this huge inaccessible area between Gallions Reach Park and Thamesmead. Google Maps shows no info about it at all and from the Thames Path at least there is a high fence and vegetation so you can't see in. Does anyone know what is there?
I wondered if it was MoD land or something but I thought they had got rid of all their property at the Royal Arsenal end of Woolwich and beyond.
Posted yesterday in the Thursday thread but didnβt get much attention so Iβll try a post. Basically I got a good offer on a Woolrich parka thatβs 7 years old already. Seems to be in pretty good condition but Iβm not sure how these things age. Anyone more experienced know if it would be worth it for about 1/5th the original price?
