A list of puns related to "Whitewall Tires"
Title covers it. Some think whitewalls are uncool. Billy Joel does. Iβd put them on a car. Cars are way too βsportyβ these days. We donβt all need trucks and performance cars. Letβs get back to cars with cushioning tires and why not make them look good.
Looking at a Russian, Chinese or North Korean wheeled military vehicles such as truck or icbm launchers, you often see whitewall tires.
Itβs ironic that while this was originally an American style choice on 1900-1960s civilian vehicles, itβs now prevalent on modern military vehicleβs of communist / former communist countries.
So i have been wanting to put whtiewall tires on my Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 for a while now. But i can't seem to find any that would fit the Interceptors Front :-100/90-18, Rear :-130/70-18 measurements.
So now to my main Question: Do any of you know if its possible to paint your existing tires with white paint that doesnt look like shit after a year? If so what paint would you recommend?
A couple of edition cars come with them as standard, why can't I cop it for my other cars?
I mean tires similar to the ones that come as stock on e.g. Proto Hup One and VW Beetle Kahakai Edition, I feel like whitewall tires as a vanity item would look really cool on the 1950βs Caddilac and some other classic cars.
Iβve never seen a vanity item like that in the shop, so Iβm wondering if one exists?
(I mean whitewall tires like this, not like the fully white-colored tire Iβve seen in the shop a couple of times).
Got a 2001 Sporty last week with the factory tires and a lot of tread, but decided to replace them and now I am looking for recommendations for good quality whitewall tires.
Will use the bike for commuting and running around the city, so there will be riding on the rain and ideally would want some tires that have better grip.
Looked at Shinko 777, but there are some bad reviews, not sure how they perform. Michelin Commander II seem to be nice, but no whitewall. Then there is also Dunlop D404 and Avon Cobra Chrome which seem to be hard to find. The Shinko 777s are very cheap compared to the rest (around $70 for the front tire compared to $140 for Michelin Commander II, for example), are they any good?
I made the front tire a whitewall using marine vinyl spray paint on the 2000 Yamaha Virago 250 xv250.
