A list of puns related to "Unshielded"
TL;DR - Unshielded Imperial starfighters should spend more of a minimum time rebooting while disabled than shielded ones do, to balance out their higher hull HP compared to shielded starfighters without their shields. Using the Reinforced Hull component on any starfighter that has access to it should increase the time players using that component spend rebooting their starfighters when disabled, to balance out how much more survivable a starfighter using a Reinforced Hull component is when disabled. These changes are all for making Ion weaponry more of a threat to unshielded starfighters and starfighters using the Reinforced Hull component. The increases to minimum reboot time are cumulative.
Ion Missiles, Ion Cannons, the Automatic Ion Cannon Turret, and Ion Rockets. You know 'em, you either love or hate 'em. But one thing I'm sure no player of this game likes is to be disabled by any of those weapons, because that means you're helpless to do anything but reboot your starfighter while your enemies lay into you with all the firepower at their disposal.
However, one thing that the devs didn't seem to figure into the game's balancing is how much more survivable unshielded Imperial starfighters can be when they get disabled. For one thing, they usually have tougher hulls than most New Republic starfighters do, and they don't have to recharge their depleted shields from zero after being disabled, and this difference becomes more pronounced when the TIE Fighter and TIE Bomber equip their Reinforced Hull components. Several times I've been disabled while flying either of those unshielded starfighters, and I've been able to reboot while being none the worse for wear because I didn't have to recharge shields from zero and my enemies conveniently forgot to shoot at me while I was disabled.
A simple way that the devs could have made the threat of being disabled by Ion weaponry more equally dangerous to both starfighters with shields and unshielded starfighters would be to increase the minimum amount of time an unshielded starfighter needs to spend while disabled before successfully rebooting, perhaps by one or two seconds. That way, starfighters with shields are more fragile when disabled, but unshielded starfighters have to spend a longer time rebooting at a minimum, which means more time for the enemy to shoot at the disabled unshielded starfighter (and a bigger opportunity to do damage).
I think a measure like this would make disabling TIE Figh
... keep reading on reddit β‘The reason I ask is because I swear I can faint hear voices coming from my tweeters when I just turn my amp on. The amp was recently serviced and the speakers I have are brand new. It sounds like a decent bit of intermittent hiss in quieter parts of songs. Any ideas? I live in downtown Pittsburgh so Iβm thinking Iβm picking something up.
How much do shields and deflectors protect ships from damage caused by phasers and (photon or quantum) torpedos?
And how much damage would phaser or disruptor hits cause on unprotected ships in comparison with shielded vessels, considering we mostly saw torpedo impacts causing wide spread destruction in many battle scenes from the movies and in the shows (especially DS9 and Discovery)?
Planning to run ethernet throughout my house. 30 yr old, 2 story, only one entry point for cable internet provided by Spectrum. Going to run Cat6A and deciding on shielded vs unshielded. I feel like shielded would be nice, even if a little overkill for residential. However, it seems complex as far as terminating and grounding and all that. Is it worth doing the shielded and if so, can anyone point me to a good start to finish tutorial? Haven't bought anything yet but would hate to get supplies and then run everything just to find out that I mucked it all up.

Hi, i am working on a paper for school discussing issues caused with leveraging Un-shielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cables and I am hard pressed to find documented real-world cases where severe impacts to communications occurred within large scale enterprise networks. I definitely understand the negative impacts caused by cross-talk interference but just wanted to be able to reference an example that demonstrates the need to use the right cabling in situations where there could be substantial interference.
If you could point me in the right direction that I can continue my research on, i would be eternally grateful. Thank you!
I couldn't hear any difference whatsoever from the shielded one i made vs. the unshielded one, but i'm sure shielded cable's are probably standard in a live enviroment or something (idk anything about that sorry)
Or screened, if you prefer.
I know the official spec says you're supposed to use shielded, but I know tons of people who don't, and have never had any issues.
I'm curious what other people's experiences and thoughts are. I appreciate you weighing in!
I know the usual effect of an unshielded jump into the warp; millions of demons swarm your ship and you probably die a horrible death very quickly. However, is that also the case near Terra? I've seen text about how overwhelming the Emperor's power is when you get close to it, and an elder saying it was the brightest thing she'd ever seen. And I know demons are waiting and hoping for the Emperer to die so they can swarm Terra, but I'm not clear on exactly how close they are.
So, say you're on ship somewhere in the Sol System, you enter the warp and your Geller field fails. What happens? Are you still swarmed by demons? Are you instead burned away by the Emperor/the Astronomicon? Are you actually in a safe space and nothing happens? Something else?
The AA on a shielded opponent can be relatively strong where I almost have to peg my stick to get the reticule to move, but the second shields pop the AA strength drops to what feels like 10% of its original strength. This cause my reticule to go flying some times. I feel like this might be one of the issues(of many) that people have when saying their aim feels weird.
And I donβt disagree with having less AA on an unshielded opponent but it needs a smoother transition. Maybe as an opponentβs shields begin to lower, gradually lower the strength of the AA.
Whatβs your guysβ thoughts on it?
I am currently going rounds with my managerial staff for designing rooms with DM or HDBT extenders in shielded CAT6 infrastructure (a lot of this is going under raised floor even in a place that definitely has potential for EMI)
I know shielded cabling isnβt βalways necessaryβ but Iβm being told shielded cabling is NEVER necessary. Is this really everyone elseβs experience? Is shielded cabling a myth made up by cable making companies to add more metal to cables? Lol

It is urgent that PIVX becomes a privacy coin and stop this total BS of "giving people the choice"
It needs to be private by default as the whitepaper pretends it is.
The transparent option needs to be something to change in the settings that nobody will do.
I know some changes are coming but I feel it is not sticking to its white paper currently.
I am waiting for an android light shield wallet & shield on ledger
I trust the PIVX team to make the necessary changes
I don't know if this opinion is perceived as too extreme here or if it's what everybody thinks.
You guys want people to see how much money you have when you make a transaction?
Any networking experts have thoughts on shielded vs unshielded ethernet for networking runs? Iβm seeing a lot of information indicating shielded Ethernet required grounding all through (not just at the switch rack, but also at each jacks throughout the house). Seems really impractical for a home situation and I have even read that it is unnecessary for typical home indoor runs, BUT I noticed Starlink provided a shielded patch cable for the router connection. So what was their reasoning for not using an unshielded connector for the router π€
I was watching the video on dismantling dygma raise and saw that the shielding was removed on the USB C cables between keyboard & neuron was concerned that this may result in some interference. This seems that maybe it is a problem since that is what is described as an intermittent issue in A Keyboard Startup's Worst Nightmare.
So the questions, is an unsheilded USB C cable still being supplied? Or was that changed during the aforementioned investigation. And is it possible to use a standard USB C cable in their place?
I'm wondering because I have a fair number of sources of interference on my desk (power supplies, 120VAC cables, etc). And that I may want to arrange the setup in a manner that the supplied cables may not work.
Obviously weapon element deals more damage against matching elemental shields, but what I'm wondering is if elemental damage is affected against guardians (without elemental resist mods), or completely unshielded enemies. Are there any factors that affect damage from different elements other than resist mods, burns, or match game shields? Particularly against specific targets, not global modifiers affecting all combatants.
