A list of puns related to "Scart"
Hello everybody. Looking for schematic for the VGA to Scart RGB cable. I want to connect MiSTer to PVM 2730QM/2130QM. I have read that there can be problems with older Trinitrons.
What resistors should i use? Thanks

It has a bnc composite input for video and one rca for audio? Is that mono?

Final Edit: Fixed the cable...sort of, it still has interference noticeable through audio quality but that will get fixed with the new shielded cable. As for what I did to fix it: I looked at the diagram for the connector, turns out it was missing ground on RGB pins and a 180 Ohm resistor. So I just wired the wires to the R G and B ground pins and wired two 100 Ohms resistors (didn't have a 200 Ohm resistor at hand so had to improvise) into the 5V line between pin 8 and pin 16. Works like a charm now. Well...except the audio, but that's to be expected from a cheap cable.
Edit: So I disassembled my aliexpress SCART cable, thinking it is wired for composite only (as I was only getting a composite output out of it) and to my surprise found out that there's actually wiring for RGB there. Including 220uf capacitors. Pictures: https://imgur.com/a/Q5KvJev
Can someone tell me what's going on here? Is it composite sync messing with the whole thing and being recognized as composite video instead or is there something else going on here? I will compare the wiring to the diagrams on the internet and will come back with what I found!
Edit2: Welp, I checked the connections on the Ali cable, seemed to have been missing ground connections for R, G and B wires, removed the capacitors, wired up the ground connections, still only composite video. Maybe I need to wire the ground to the shell, which turns out where the 21st pin is. I'll try this after work today and will update the results. Honestly the only thing I use as a guide is a diagram of a SCART to PS2 cable I found online. Doing it in case someone stumbles upon this post after buying these stupid Ali cables.
Hello, in short: what the title says.
So basically, I haven't ordered them when I had the chance and now they're out of stock on retrogamingcables and not available on retro-access. And I'm itching to get a good picture quality out of my PS2. I've seen some options on ebay but I have my doubts about them. Perhaps someone here knows where else to get real RGB SCART PS2 cables. Maybe someone has a spare they're willing to sell, or knows someone who does, or someone can make one for me (obviously, for money) or tell me how to make one out of an existing SCART lead that is wired for Composite video (I know how to solder and have a spare PS2 so in theory, if I were to short something during the assembly and in turn damage that PS2, I'd still have my main pristine unit up and runnin
... keep reading on reddit โกI just received my PlayStation 1 PS1 RGB SCART PACKAPUNCH cable, connected to my ps1 and my crt, but it shows nothing, black screen ๐
My CRT (Mivar 14 M4) tv only has a single SCART port on the back, I previously connected my ps1 with a composite cable connected to a SCART adaptor and it works, as it should. But if I connect the SCART RGB cable, I just have a black screen. My CRT is a Mivar 14 M4

which do you think will be the best image? I have a retrotink 5x and i'm looking at getting a good quality rgb scart cable or the kaico hdmi adapter.
I have a old blaupunkt CRT TV at home but it uses SCART. I have been thinking about maybe trying to use it with my computer, but my computer has HDMI. I saw some HDMI-to-SCART adapter for sale, and though about trying to use the tv with my laptop. So would it be worth the hassle?
There seems to be a lot of hype in the retrogaming community around SCART connectors, even in NTSC regions. There's a quite apparent cottage industry of eBay sellers and other merchants producing bespoke NTSC-compliant SCART equipment online, (switchers, cables, converters) and I'm wondering why this is.
Obviously RGB is preferable to S-Video (or the dreaded composite), but why seek out a PAL Region connection standard with little official support on NTSC equipment to deliver it? Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper (without a discernible difference in image quality) to use, say, HD15 (VGA) or BNC?
RGB Extron switchers with either of the latter are dirt cheap on eBay (in straight, matrix, and auto-switching form). Most PVMs already work with one or the other, and properly shielded cables for at least HD15 are still available at general retail in large quantities. Most 15khz NTSC TVs don't have these inputs but roughly none of them have SCART inputs, so...
What is the benefit of SCART to NTSC region users, exactly?
I'm sorry for asking such a minor question in a separate post, but this sub doesn't have some quick q/a thread, so
Since the back AV port doesn't support stereo sound one need to use the front jack 3.5mm for stereo. And it's trivial if you are using a component from the start: just leave the yellow thing from AV-cable for video and plug red and white things of the cable that goes to the front jack 3.5mm port for sound respectively.
I'm using a regular AV/SCART cable for BOTH sound and video. A regular SCART cable that goes only to the back port of the console so the sound only works in mono.
The question is: will it do well if I just use a SEPARATE cable jack3.5->Red/White for the sound purposes specifically while SIMULTANEOUSLY connecting the console via SCART cable? Will the stereo cable "override" the mono sound already present from SCART connection? Or do I really need to go to AliExpress and buy another fucking SCART cable - this time with a jack3.5mm branch attached?
Hello I've just recently get a retrotink 5x and I was tinkering with my rgb scart, I've noticed some bad checkboard on my snes and I've tried un soldering the cable to pin 9 and solder it to pin 7, thus making it sync on luma, but that didn't solve anything :/
I have a sony kv-x2903e, and I'm trying to figure out wheter or not it supports rgb scart, as i think that would give a better image for gamecube/ps2 than composite. My googling didn't really tell me much of anything, maybe someone here knows?
I have a couple of old vga lcd monitors that I have 0 use for. Ive seen a few people use these in their small retro gaming set up, but they always use a console that either supports vga, or a converter to do rgb(usually through scart) to hdmi. But these converters, I cant find them most of the time. Are they even a thing? I dont understand. I know that scart is RGBS and VGA is RGBHV which are two really different things so is this why these converters are weird? I thought of doing the thing I said on the title, but I have a feeling its not going to work.
Iโm trying to connect my wii to my tv but the tv doesnโt have a SCART input, so is there any other way I can connect it, Iโm desperate to play just dance.
Looking to mod my N64 so it can work with my scart cable. Which mod kit should I get?
I'm looking for the best picture possible. I don't care all that much about scanlines (especially since the Retrotink can do that).
