A list of puns related to "Uaw"
I work for an automotive company in Wayne county Michigan. The leader in auto manufacturing for the world. My company is non-unionized. Every worker I've spoken to has been in support of joining a union. I along with some coworkers are willing to do the volunteer union work. I've spoke with a UAW rep today and I'm going to try to unionize my workplace. Currently it's in the quiet stage right now where he needs a list of every hourly employee. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to go about that? I don't want to alert my company to the unionization. We need a union for many reasons. I would appreciate any help. And will answer any questions I can in the comments. Thank you all.
This ad is supposedly running in newspapers including the Quad-City Times.
Last week UAW member rejected Deere's offer by 55 percent to 45 percent. But the locals in Davenport and Ottumwa voted to accept the offer, as did the Ankeny local (barely). The Waterloo and Dubuque locals were overwhelmingly against the deal.

Iβm not here to judge or even to fully understand every move thatβs been made and the complexities of the situation. Iβm just a student who deals with their own stuff, and whose life is being disrupted by this movement in often tactless ways.
A few points
The movement has done a poor job of communicating their demands and putting them front and center in their struggle. Their website is mostly donation prompts and student testimonies, and within all the chanting, picketing, disruptions and slogans, the actual demands rarely seep through. (I know they are not actually hard to find but Iβm communicating to you what the experience of almost every student around me is)
2)You are a part of a huge community with many moving parts, even if we support your demands, it doesnβt mean you can make everything about yourself.
3)the tree lighting π²
I and many others found it very tactless and unnecessary for the strikers to take THE ONE EVENT we had as community together and to make it about themselves. And what for? We all already knew youβre fighting and supported the general cause.
Also, that night they held up a giant βget the NYPD off campusβ sign, and made SURE it is the background in the video of every Acappella group. And that night one of their own and our own was violently murdered. You are fighting for better working conditions, please donβt think you have any right to dictate how public safety is conducted.
4)shutting down the last day of some classes.
We wonβt have our last class, wonβt get to wrap up the semester properly, and to say thanks to our professors and classmates. Do I understand the entire rationale behind their decision? No I donβt. But do they have the right to do whatever they want just because they can justify it to themselves?
I am not 10 feet deep in this, I donβt know or particularly care to know about every detail of this struggle and this back and fourth.
You have the right to fight for better wages and working conditions, and that fight can be disruptive. But have some tact and some respect for regular students and their experience.
Judge Marlita Greve granted an injunction against the workers today. If more than 8 people are on the picket lines going forward, they will be arrested.
Just an FYI for those who thought the bail fund was unnecessary.

"Dear fellow members of the Columbia community,
I write to share new information that the University hopes will bring negotiations with the Student Workers of Columbia-UAW to a swift and positive conclusion.
In a mediation session this afternoon, the University presented a revised comprehensive package of economic benefits that will increase stipends and hourly wages, and expand health benefits for student employees at the University. We believe that for PhD students, particularly those with families, we are offering one of the most generous packages of any university in the country.
We will provide additional information about these provisions in the coming days, and we encourage all students and faculty members to follow developments through our unionization e-newsletter and website. In the meantime, here are the key economic provisions:
COMPENSATION
Stipends
Hourly wage: The new minimum rate fo
