What is the World of Torr?
In short: It’s a sandbox persistent multiplayer server with a number of features I'd like to elaborate on below:
Unique crafting/skill system
- Skills include armorcrafting, weapons, items, leadership (lead armies), faith (complete with unique deities), ritual, etc.
- The higher your craft skill, the higher quality items you can craft.
Unique Spells and Class-tweaks
Spells and classes have been tweaked for balance and RP purposes.
Food and fatigue
You need to sleep and eat – yes you can even become a chef and make special dishes that are always in demand by players.
Trait system
Select unique traits for your character upon creation or develop them as you adventure.
2 major factions that are constantly at war with each other
Invade kingdoms, bring areas under your faction’s control
Roleplay
Most in the community roleplay. Some are mixed. Choose your level of comfort, the community is very warm and welcoming.
Housing
Includes ability to own castles/lairs with guards/minions, and yes of course you can customize your home in a number of ways.
Player Merchants and economy
Own a shop and sell what you want at the prices you want. Economy checks go off simulating buy and sell – prices will fluctuate from kingdom to kingdom based on supply and demand.
Kingdoms and citizenship
- Play politics. You can become the leader of a kingdom and propose laws, declare wars
- Or become a citizen, contribute to the kingdom’s resources (e.g. wood, iron, etc.)
- Laws in each kingdom which you can break and be sent to prison
- Sent to prison? Break out. Be on the run.
- Become a bounty hunter and hunt down those wanted in kingdoms
- Develop a positive or negative reputation in each kingdom
Most important note:
The creators and devs are receptive to new ideas and will respond to you on the discord (link provided below). The community is VERY active as well on the discord. While we have many veteran players (myself included) going back years, the community is VERY welcoming to new players - the devs are very receptive to your ideas! I'm a new player to fallout 2, and in order to gain some xp to reach level three I went and did torr's mission. I killed all of the radscorpions, and talking to torr only confirms this. Only issue is that when I leave the area it fails the mission. There's nothing left to kill, and the two rustlers ran off midway through. I didn't interact with them at all. What should I do?

I thought I would post a shameless plug about my favourite world. I have been playing on the server for over 15 years, and can honestly say it is the best server that I have ever tried. I highly recommend any newcomers to poke around! If you played on the server previously, I'm sure your characters are still saved.

The World of Torr is a persistent world intended to appeal to a large audience for a lengthy period of time. The approach used is to provide a sandbox realm with many different opportunities for players to choose from, and to not force a specific kind of gaming style (such as roleplaying). It has been inducted to the Neverwinter Vault's gameworld hall of fame.
The gameworld, since its conception, has gone through many phases in development and transformed the way many think about persistent worlds in relation to MMORPGS (massively multiplayer online role-playing games). It went from beta testing to release in December 2004 and has received updates ever since.
Features include: Persistent player housing, ownable lairs, a comprehensive crafting system, a detailed law system, an open world and moderately slow levelling.

When I try to connect to torr using bridges and select torr is censored in my country . I only get the option to manually enter bridges and not the other 2 options to get bridge from torr or built in bridge Can someone help. Manually entering bridge address is a pain
I was blown away when I first saw them and thought they were the most original concepts I had seen in years. From their backstory to the way they played they were great.
What were your impression of the pair?
Just a heads up to those of you on the East Coast, and especially those that are closer to Alton, VA. There is a great 2 day event happening there at the end of the month. 2 tracks and 1 obstacle course set up for unlimited rides. I attended it in Sept last year and had a great time. Stock vehicles can run this course, and for those with a little extra, there are fun options for you to try out too. I’ve been playing NWN on and off since its release. I've been a part of the Torr community since 2004/2005.

Promoting the World of Torr, a unique nwn multiplayer experience. I’ve seen servers with a large number of people still playing. I’ve also seen numerous posts by people looking for a server/community.
