A list of puns related to "Toolmaker"
Have fun and be safe out there tonight!
i know this is possibly the worst trade to enter with adult dyslexia. but i thoroughly enjoy it. but i have problems with mixing numbers up. unless i spend allot of time double, triple checking prints. more time than most old timers think i should be. but if i don't I'll fuck it up. and even some times i still do. i get locations i can't even figure out how i got there. does anyone have any experience with this or any tips to help? I've been toolmaking for some time now but recently i went from bench and fit to machine work. so once again any help any one can help with will be.. well ... helpful. thanks I'm advance
I love so many of the ways that this game innovates and breaks Strategy traditions, however this new "you need the thing this building produces to make this building" is kind of a headache. Inserting the Transmorgrifier (sp?) is kind of a hack, and means the joy of colonizing each freah planet comes with that headache all over again.
Again, I LOVE the game on XSX, and thanks to saving diligently I haven't lost any progress. But the "Tool Conundrum" is a repeating stumble in an otherwise great-feeling flow.
Hello you all.
i am back, for another round of answering your questions. About the material used to make most knives with.
For those who dont know me. i am a moderator of the two largest knifemaking subreddits. and have been making knives for some 13 years by now. for my dayjob i also work with many of the steel types present in modern cutlery. i've been power nerding about said tool steels, for most of those 13 years too.
(the old timers on the subreddit can testify that i rant about the subject a lot)
So now is the time to get your unresolved question or curiosities answered.
The post will stay up for a couple of weeks. and i will endeavour to answer every question. but do be nice and look to see if your question has already been asked before posting.
I recently purchased an optical comparator and I am going the learn at home from books/videos route for machining in general. I purchased an optical comparator and have been using it to measure angles on drill bits, etc and have found it very useful. Mr. Lipton (OxToolCo) has an OC and a toolmaker's microscope and I see him bust that out over the OC at times for jobs that could be handled by both.
More of an education topic for me, where would one be preferable over the other, examples would be great! Thanks /r/metrology!
Hi, As the title might suggest I am based in Europe and when buying new tools I would prefer to both support local toolmakers and avoid as much shipping as possible. However I am having a hard time figuring out what if any options we have here in europe for handtools mainly planes and saws, where as far as I can tell Clifton and Pax are the only local options. But with these I am having a hard time figuring out how they stack up against the American options like Lie-Nielsen.
So the question becomes what good modern(new) hand tool makers do we have in Europe?
But she sure gave the boys her awl.
I just recently got an apple watch, and was shocked to find out that Launch Bay Next has an apple watch presence. It's great, and surprisingly useful.

I use FlyCasual on a regular basis for first passes on lists and determining basic viability, as well as passing time in a boring meeting.

YASB is such convienient tool for slapping together a list, and printing it, or pasting it into our next two systems

The TTS mod maintainers johnnycheese , Fabio_0TT0 as well as a number of others have kept us alive during the pandemic
A similar shoutout tot he vassal maintainers, Vagabond, Mu0n for making tables work for us.
I have signed up for several of these patrons, and hope you guys can find the time to support your favorite creators as well. The tooling is important!
I am sure I have missed a half dozens tools, and I hope you guys get a mention below. It's a great sign that it is just too much to keep on top of!
If you are involved in making tools to manage databases, such as:
Would you please consider adding a flag to mark a database as "Production" ?
And if a DB is marked as such, let users customize background colors or confirmation prompts before potentially damaging operations?
(Yes, I know you can have different users/roles/permissions and so on and so forth on a real life production environment - the motivation for this is to prevent major fuck-ups when working on smaller projects).
I have them leftover after ordering Asian takeout. Don't really use them while eating (Indian here), but don't wanna throw them away since they seem to be of good quality wood that doesn't splinter. Any ideas?
I considered a photo frame, but the idea doesn't excite me. What would you do?
