A list of puns related to "The Orb"
I had ZERO idea until today that passing the orbs between fireteam members before throwing them at shields massively buffs the damage they do. Never saw Sedia melt so fast LOL. The only reason I learned is a rando in my fireteam was aggressively passing me the ball. I thought he was just doing some light trolling, but it was aggressive enough about it I decided to google it.
For context, I have been playing pretty regularly since the D1 demo with a small group of friends. I'm somewhere between casual and hardcore. I have never raided, but I have done all of the dungeons so I am at least familiar with general destiny mechanics. I also do spend a decent amount of time on builds and have good working knowledge of all the mods and gear systems.
So in closing:
1, sorry to all the randos out there who had to eye-roll while they watched me screw up this strike for years.
2, Bungie needs to figure out a way to teach this game within the game itself. If I missed this, I can only imagine the DOZENS AND DOZENS of things big and small that new players miss.
What are the the things it took you as a longtime player to learn?
EDIT: This has been a lot of fun back and forth that has been mostly positive. But for those with some serious salt, I find it hard to believe you have never had a "blueberry moment"

I just pulled 180 shards for the first time and am in a really good mood right now. What are times yβall have gotten lucky and pulled amazing drops from orbs?
The following videos have been taken this September, at the Black Sea in Romania.
My friend told me that this was visible on the sky for about an hour, appearing and disappeared at times.
In two videos you can see it being shot at, or at least that is what my friend said.
Interested to hear your opinions. Btw, no actual drone, not a Chinese lantern.

I tried posting this on r/UFOs, but I couldnβt, so maybe do a cross-post if you want. Edit: I managed.

Every art piece in this deck either presents orbs, balls, spheres, or a holder/ponderer of orbs. While the deck is not the strongest, neither are you if you are against orbs. Please feel free to copy this, play against all of those orb haters out there, and be guaranteed to win in spirit if not by actual accomplishment.
Why are so many fics written like this?
I know it's generally kids/teens who are writing stuff like this, but I don't think I've ever seen it outside of fanfiction. What makes someone refer to their favorite character by their hair/eye color, or their height, instead of their name? What is added by doing that? Is it just more fun to write? If it's the latter, ok, I get it, but man it's weird and unnatural to read.
I will never not be baffled by this. But it's also intriguing! Where does this strange use of language come from?
My record was 300 orbs or something like that and the Fae legendary banner was the one i threw everything away.
Since someone asked me about this, I said I would do the math and post it.
Assumption: you refresh all of hard section with energy and 50 core refreshes. Your 100 core refreshes essentially go down to medium level.
Campaign Orb gives you an average of 5.44 shards per orb.
Spider Punk Orb gives you an average of around 9.39 shards per orb.
If you do a 100 core refresh, that gives you 500/2000 of a campaign orb, which is around 1.36 shards per 100 cores.
If you put that 100 to a 675 core orb, that gives you 100/675 or an orb, or around 1.39 shards per orb.
So the 675 orbs are slightly better than the campaign orbs assuming you don't need or care about anything else in the campaign orb. if you care about alot of things in that campaign orb, then it's value certainly increases.
In the 675's favor is that you DO have a chance to hit the jackpot with 180 shards. With the Campaign Orb, it's 28.
If you want to have a chance to maximize spider punk star level you go 675 orbs.
Orb generation is no longer possible except on sidearms
Itβs the only thing really making things lame right now. I canβt remember the last time anyone in my server was LFG to run a dungeon

Hi everyone,
Like probably a lot of mid/end game player, I am so annoyed by the outdated characters in the Greek raids orb. I decided to check how bad it was. The date are their release date.

Here is the Google Sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15DAHlVhBsIXLHNL0FmnyOlpMdGrEBXmOt8-ALMqTTEI/edit?usp=sharing
Quick resumΓ©:
- 29 characters (Chavez and Heimdall in 2 differents orbs)
- 25 characters are from 2019 and before
- only 4 from 2020
- 0 characters from 2021
- 4 characters have been reworked since their release (IF, Gamora, Nebula, Thor)
- characters that are (somehow) meta right now: 4 (Iron Fist, Nebula, Gamora, Shatterstar) (that's subjective a bit)
Thanks for reading! Sorry for english, it's my second language!
