Testing how it holds with water. If it is successful, what should I stock it with. 50gal. I'm thinking 2 pairs of Rams, 1featherfin catfish, and some kinda of schooling fish besides tetras and guppies.

Over stocked? So some random PetSmart employee said my tank is over stocked and they're stressed even tho she's never seen my tank. It's a 20long with 13 glowlight tetras, 1 Honey Gourami, 1 black Molly, 3 Otos, and 1 snail. Is it? It doesn't seem like it to me but maybe I'm wrong. Let me know.

Tetras dead after introducing plants
I'm a new aquarium owner. I setup the tank five days ago. Yesterday I bought a few plants for the tank and this morning there were six dead tetras all bunched up next to one of the plants in the corner. They didn't really show any signs of distress before this so I'm thinking it's related to the plants I added yesterday. Should I remove the plants or just let things settle for a bit? I'm not sure what I should do next. I'm worried the rest of the fish are in danger now.

First time aquarium! We're allowed to have a small aquarium in our dorm rooms, so I decided to plant a small 5 gallon and add some small inhabitants! Right now it's home to three neon tetras, a cherri shrimp, and two candy shrimp. Thoughts?

No real plants because ...well, the turtle destroys them but still pretty proud of this setup! Eastern Painted Turtle + neon tetras, guppies, two upside down catfish (we'll likely re-home when they get too big)

In need your thoughts please! Letβs say youβre me and you have this tank (17g). You have 4 guppies, 4 Pygmy Corys, 7 neons tetra in it. You can not have a new tank, but youβd LOVE a Betta. What would you do? I love all my fishes but Iβd eventually be ready to make compromises. TY!

API Master test kit and Tetra test strips
Someone gave me a not expired full unopened bottle of Tetra test strips and since I have never tried the strips I gave it a shot. Before the strips I used my regular API Master test kit. I tested my oldest well established heavily planted tank. As usual API test showed perfect parameters. Tried the test strip, then another and another until I stuck a strip in every part of the tank- 11 total. According to every strip there should not be one living thing in my tank. Shit, I should set the whole tank on fire for readings this bad. Every single pad tested in the DANGER zone except for PH showing a color that was not even on the chart. I then broke out the Nutrafin Master 10 parameters check kit and redid the API Master kit. Both showed perfection.I have heard the strips were bad but damn I never expected this. Could the whole bottle just be bad? What if a beginner relied on these strips? Has anyone else ever tried this test comparison. While I wait for some experienced testers to weigh in, I'm going to use all 89 strips on 15 different tanks & see what happens.
