I just spent a few hours on this - a differential equation model of the populations of magical girls and witches in Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and how they can be regulated and optimised for maximum negentropy production. Does a fictional academic paper set in someone else's universe count as fanfiction? A fictional newspaper article or epistolary would, so I guess this does too.
The results actually turned out quite interesting, and surprised me. It's a remarkably self-stabilising and easy to regulate system. A Kyubey's work is pretty easy after all, unless he royally fucks it up like someone I won't mention who was assigned to a planet beginning with E and ending in -arth.
I've done a little searching, and found [this](https://tabletopecology.com/) so far, but it doesn't really cover what I'm looking for. I'm curious if there are any existing games that take concepts from ecology and Permaculture and apply those as mechanics in the game somehow.
