Lives are often considered an outdated mechanic, and most games have moved away from them. However, there are some lives systems that break the mold.
In the Wii version of Sonic Unleashed, lives found in the overworld areas act as permanent upgrades. When you enter a level, your lives are set to the total amount you've found in the overworld (plus the three you start with). You can respawn at checkpoints once per life, and if you lose them all, you restart the level. However, if you do lose them all, you still get reset back to the max amount. Essentially, lives act similarly to how permanent health upgrades work in other games.
So what's my point bringing this up? Well, I don't really have one. I just wanted some excuse to talk about this, since I've never seen anyone do so.
I just recently replayed Sonic Unleashed after a good 13 years. I've been excited to revisit it lately but when I did... it was kind of irritating how Sonic would jump way further than I needed him to in the stage select areas. And the werehog... I swear, I died WAY too many times trying to walk on pipes and beams. Both of them shared issues with the camera either tricking me in terms of enemy placement or not functioning properly for me to look around.
I really don't remember it being that frustrating of an experience before - so I was wondering what you all thought? Did you have the same issues or did you eventually figure something out that improved the whole experience?
Is there a way to play sonic unleashed on pc? Without an emulator would be better because I don’t know how to set it up Please help

Is there any way to create a new game without losing the current save?
I’m not counting remixes or anything like that
I love it a lot and I consider it a masterpiece. My opinion.
