Heard a rumor about the color βDiabloβ from solid ink reacting UV light! Since itβs the red I always use, I had one of my clients check it out! Turns out itβs true! Hand is a few days old so still fresh, dragon is 6 months healed!

Managed to snag this typewriter for $45 after talking it down from $60 due to the state of the ink ribbon caught between the type bars. May have to oil it and definitely have to replace the ribbon but the machine seems solid!

I got the platinum carbon ink today because I heard that it's waterproof. After my usual test or art mediums with ink (three passes with each medium) it's really not, it's water resistant, the lines are solid but there's definite bleeding. So that's disappointing, but on the plus, it's markerproof.

When I bought my first vintage pen (Schaefer lever fill), I was told to stick with inks made by pen manufacturers and avoid shimmer inks. Is this solid advice, or is it an unnecessary precaution? Also heard you shouldn't post older pens. What are your thoughts?

I can see a lot of your Computershare account numbers. Please stop using the highlighter tool with black ink. You can add a solid black box instead. You can copy and paste the box for easy multiple redactions. Be safe!

Question: How to draw solid black in ink drawings
I've been trying to practice some ink drawings recently, mainly for Inktober, and I was wondering how does one best draws an object or part of an object that has solid black shading.
Like I use a thick pen and shade it but then I end up with obvious overlapping lines, is there a way to minimize these? This is an example of a drawing I did recently. https://i.ibb.co/xYJdLRn/Battle-Ship.png where there are these overlapping lines and such.
I can think of a couple of things I did wrong, used different pens, and did not shade in just one direction. I've heard ink brush pens can be good for this sort of thing but thought I'd ask before getting any.
Any advice on this (or ink drawing tips, in general, I am a real beginner in this) would be handy.

Got a new (to me) printer - first run of some vivid color labels for my Magneto Optical discs. Itβs a Xerox solid ink printer (prints with melted wax). Just a few alignment issues Iβll have to sort out. This was really just a test print - I know theyβre not perfect.

Do you save ink when you print words on a lighter shade of grey, instead of a solid black color?
I mean it makes sense right? Grey lettering should use less ink than black lettering. Right?

TIL Paul C. Fisher created the space pen. The device writes upside down, in frigid or hot conditions, underwater, and in zero gravity. Pressurized cartridge ink, a gel-like solid turns to fluid to write. Pressurized nitrogen prevents air from mixing with the ink, so it cannot evaporate or oxidize.
