A list of puns related to "Ski Orienteering"
Hey Reddit! Here is some help for those struggeling with this mission. 1st Clue: 2449 N - 2548 E 2nd clue: 1415 N - 2139 E Find the Barbegazi: 2186 - 3276 E
If sm1 knows what i need to do pls tell me i cant find the clues+i played 10 hours tooday and i am so bored searching right now :(
My primary downhill skis are blizzard rustlers which I love. I smear all my turns and kick out the tails of the skis to scrub speed without thinking about it.
My current touring setup are fischer hannibals with a full camber and a square tail and they're fucking terrifying to ski until I remember how to use them properly without skidding everything.
I'd like my next ski to also be quite light(<1400g per ski at 180cm) but have much freer tails.
My girlfriends is looking for the exact same thing in women's.
I'm looking for a new pair of twigs to go touring with, but I'm not sure about which ones to buy. I would prefer something that is very downhill oriented, so I don't care about if they're heavy. The Uphill part doesn't need to be efficient or anything. Would appreciate some help on the topic!
Thanks!
I am about to buy a new pair of skis and need a recommendation. Iβve been skiing with Salomon QST Lux 92 skis 161 cm the last 4 seasons and feel like I have outgrown them from an experience standpoint. I also think they are not long enough for me at this stage in my experience level. I typically like doing steep blues or rollers and donβt feel confident anymore on my current skis going fast - they get shaky.
Iβm a 5β9β 155 lbs female in Colorado.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!
Hey all! I'm 6'4" and 190 lbs. I currently ski QST 106's in 188 length and purchased them mainly for touring. I find them awesome in mixed conditions, but want something a little more agile for skiing moguls and something a little more carving oriented on piste.
Are these two wishes at odds with one another? Am I on the right track looking for a shorter ski with a thinner waist width? Any suggestions?
So I've been thinking of buying one but want to see what are all the available excersises? Have been searching everywhere but it's not started anywhere.
Like does it have jump rope and so on? If anybody knows please let me know.
Thanks in advance
I'm 6'1", 195, and barely intermediate. I'm skiing Bachelor and spending about 4 days a week on the mountain. I'm currently skiing a used pair of Salomon X-Wing Fury at 180.
Upon reading some old reviews of what I've been skiing, I've learned that they're basically very not playful and built for speed. I have no personal basis for comparison though. Last time I went skiing was 4 years ago on some rentals in Whitefish. Before that was probably another 8 years when I learned on some '70s matchsticks in Tahoe.
I'm a strong believer in growing into my skis and, so far, I've been enjoying the Furys (Furies?). I'm obviously staying on piste for now and working on carving instead of skidding. They don't seem to like ice though, but maybe that's just me and not the skis.
Initially I assumed the M6 would be too much ski for me, but that was before I learned that what I'm currently on is also an "advanced" stiff speed demon. (Again, without a basis for comparison I thought my skis were "fun").
I plan to continue skiing a LOT this season and all of it will be at Bachelor, so hopefully I'll be better than I am now by the end of it.
I noticed another enforcer v mantra thread where advice tended towards the enforcer but was for Midwest conditions rather than PNW.
Lastly, should I just stick with my 15 year old used skis until I'm a better skier or are modern skis SO much better that I'll be a better skier by the end of the season if I upgrade now vs waiting?
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
I see tons of posts for suggestions about which skis to buy when you can huck doubles off cliffs, but what would someone look for when they're using skis as faster snowshoes?
I'm confident on blue runs out west, but black runs generally scare me. I spend most of my time in the backcountry, following trails and whatnot (it provides a fun orienteering challenge to follow hiking trails when they're under ten feet of snow). I'm avy aware!
For the last two winters, I've been skiing on ZeroG 95's with shifts, and Technica ZeroG boots (I got a good deal!). None of that suits my skiing ability. It's been terrifying.
I've been eyeing Voiles with the traction bases and super light boots that are more for comfort than skiing prowess. I really enjoyed classic nordic skiing for how comfortable the boots were, but going downhill on XC skis was even more challenging.
**Before posting a new ISTP relationship question, please read through this FAQ
Hello Shy Feeler/Intuitive who has felt a flutter in your heart for that perfect idealized ISTP you have constructed in your mind! Many of the posts that appear here on r/ISTP are partially redundant questions asking things like; Where do I find ISTPs? How do I tell if this ISTP likes me? Do ISTPs just cut people out of their lives over nothing? How do I get my ISTP to open up more?
Here, I will answer several of these questions and more.
Givens: ISTPs have the Ti-Se-Ni-Fe function stack.
General Advice: ISTPs aren't great with people and dislike having to play relationship games. They appreciate directness and honesty. Always communicate with your ISTP openly, never try to coerce them, and always hash out issues before they grow into huge problems. Trust is hard to build with ISTPs and being dishonest in order to save face or shield feelings will not be appreciated in the long run.
1) Where can I find ISTPs?
ISTPs love to be technically proficient and have the latitude to work on projects, solve problems, work with tools using a technical knowledge base, and be in the physical world. They also love variety.
Common places to find ISTPs are auto shops, race tracks, casinos, as musicians in bands or orchestras, as software engineers, airports (pilots and mechanics), martial arts dojos/gyms, gun and archery ranges, running/rowing/sports clubs, the gym, rock climbing, ski slopes, surfing, fishing spots, carpentry or metal workshops, recording studios, engineering firms, fire and police departments, the military, design and architecture firms, a darkroom, surgical operating rooms, as trades people, kitchens, specialty grocery stores, restaurants, the woods, lakes and rivers, the ocean, the mountains, a secluded beach, or the desert.
ISTPs (remember inferior Fe) typically don't enjoy having to manage people or interact with clients. They also tend not to enjoy completely abstract careers or activities.
Best NOT to look for ISTPs (improbable, not impossible) in HR departments, corporate management, marketing agencies, retail (unless it's somewhere they can get an employee discount on sick gear), bartending or waiting tables (they're probably in the kitchen), as flight attendants, modern art galleries, avant-garde theater productions, poetry readings, motivational speaking events, nursing, fashion houses, therapy offices, as clergy, in church, networking events, cock

Hi yβall. Itβs the end of the school semester and Bachelor Nation is never free from some new form of consumable media. Soooo Iβve decided to watch Coming Out Colton, the dramatic, heart wrenching series detailing Coltonβs coming out journey. This is a 6 episode epoch and Iβll post an unrequested review for each episode. Be prepared to cringe, cry, and Colton.
TW: mentions of violence towards LGBTQ+ in paragraph 3; mentions of suicidal ideation in paragraph 4;
βEpisode 1: Familyβ is the 27 minute long debut of Coltonβs next journey. It begins with almost immediate victimization by Colton of Colton, with memorable phrases such as βI wanted to fit inβ and βthis year has been a lot for me.β
We are then shown the totally normal-to-film act of Colton coming out to his mother, followed by lots of love and acceptance and the knowledge that Colton has known his sexual orientation since he was 6 or 7. Now this is a relatively wholesome moment and Iβm proud of him for having the courage to do that; however, filming it for a television show sort of sours the moment (for me at least). Colton, remaining extremely stoic and showing no outward emotion, proceeds to tell us that he began hurting others (i.e. stalking his ex girlfriend) because he was closeted.
Fast forward to Colton and his friend Gus at a ski/snowboard resort. Gus, otherwise known as the 2014 Winter Olympics slopestyle silver medalist, is also gay and came out in October 2015 in an interview with ESPN. Colton met Gus on a podcast and said β[Gus] was very obviously hitting on meβ - whether this is true or not is never confirmed. The two men (who honestly look exactly the same) sit down after snowboarding to chit chat about Coltonβs sexuality, with Gus asking Coltonβs type. Mr. Ex-Bachelor says this is a weird question to him and mentions that βcoming out is awkward.β Iβm sure the teenagers living with their parents and the thousands who die every year due to homophobic violence agree that itβs awkward as well. After a bit more conversation, victimization, and tense music, this scene ends.
Now we are at Coltonβs (nice-ass) house with his high school friend Kassidy. He starts to discuss some of his feelings surrounding both his high school experience and recent years, describing an transformative event for him in LA. Essentially Colton took a large amount of Xanax and did not expect to wake up; when he did awake the next day, he immediately packed everything and drove

Adult Nat gets up from her bench at the recovery center and walks through the garden
Scene jumps to a close up shot panning right of bloody dark hair being dragged across the snow.
Jumps to a close up shot of rope bound feet dragging the body from off frame right. Body is face up based on the orientation of the feet. Possible wound slightly visible on top of right foot.
Jumps to shot looking slightly up at a rope tossed over a dead, split tree. A covered arm and hand are pulling the rope from off frame right, which is what is pulling the body along the ground. Sunrise is visible from bottom of the frame.
Jumps back to shot of the bodyβs feet. They have have stopped moving and are now being lifted up by the rope.
Jump to shot of a person slightly off center frame, mid chest up. Their body is covered in a black shiny fur coat or robe that rises up well past the shoulders, surrounding their neck. Their head is covered in a light brown fur that wraps from ear to ear, and hangs down off frame to somewhere around mid chest. Eyes and mouth holes have been cut forming a mask. The top of the fur mask is fairly horizontal, cutting across the personβs face around their forehead. A small piece of orange cord can be seen on the left side of their face, presumably part of the maskβs rigging. Some sort of cloth skull cap peaks out from the top and maybe 4 leahter strips ties into what looks like 2 knots on top of the head, presumably this rigging keeps the mask on top of their head. Shot holds for a second giving us a good look. We shall refer to this person as Fur Face for now.
Sounds of the tree creaking under strain of the bodyβs weight is heard as the shot jumps to a behind Fur Face on the left edge of the frame in focus starring straight ahead. We get a better look at their outfit. They are wearing a dark yellow tunic or robe and the fur on their body is actually a shawl made from an animal. The animalβs ears can be seen peeking up from around the upper right arm, with the full animalβs face blocked from our view. The fur on the back of the shawl is mottled grey. We can clearly see now that their whole head is wrapped in matching dark yellow cloth to their body and cord is tied around the back of their head, connecting to the hanging fur mask flap over their face.
On the right side of the frame, the person hoisting the body can be seen out of focus. They are wearing a white face mask. and a full hood, hanging low to obscure their face. Their body is covered

... keep reading on reddit β‘I'm a 5"11 195 lbs guy looking for a sort of one quiver ski at around 100 mm underfoot. I'm currently on some 167cm vΓΆlkl RTM 84, and these are fine for having a short "slalom" ski, but I feel as if they can't really "contain" me. I have looked at several options, like the enforcer 100 and 104, ranger 102fr, Rossignol holyshred, qst 98, mantra 102, mindbender 99ti, maverick 100ti, head kore 99/ 105 and some more. I plan to use an alpine binding on these.
With a background in racing, i consider myself advanced/ expert level, especially on piste. I love to ski trees, moguls, powder, really anything as long as I can go fast. I'm not to good at any tricks, but I prefer having some air time while skiing. I seek out bumps, jumps and drops to gain air time a lot, if it's of any help .
I guess my biggest concern would be how much speed and stability on groomers/on piste I would be giving up if I were to choose a ski that can ski well in tight forests. Because of my level of skiing, i'm also uncertain as to how much of a difference choosing a "lighter" ski would make when in a tight spot.
I'm from norway, so the East coast/ West coast terminology might not apply to me.
My question is, what would you reccomend for a fast charging guy who also spends a lot of time exploring outside of the piste? Any of the skiis I already listed, or something entirely different?
Edit: thank's for the replys. I went with the Nordica enforcer 100 186cm. They're great
I have reached a point where I believe a very powerful AI is involved. I've witnessed things getting hacked instantaneously, mainly news articles that support my theories. I almost always copy and paste quotes from articles that I post, but here lately I've gone back and other information in the article has been changed to discredit my quote, often what they change contrast with the actual title of the article. The first move the Nazis made was to discredit the media and control information.
When the internet first arrived I felt like we had reached a new golden age of enlightenment, all the world's information would be at everyone's fingertips, but instead it's being used to spread propaganda and mislead people. We are headed for a coup, the white man knows his reign is over if we stick to fair and honest elections so they are doing everything they can to restrict voter rights and mislead people to maintain their current slave and master economy.
Everyone knows the modern wage system was formed off the lessons learned from slavery. If they pay just enough to scrape by, often needing assistance from the government, while telling people in that situation its their own fault people will never rise above the slave station in life. All jobs are vital to our economy and there is no reason that one person should not be paid enough to live without having to turn to crime or government handouts.
I believe a lot of perps are drug into gangstalking by being tricked as to the nature of its legality, sort of like if the mafia recorded you killing somebody then they could use that against you to keep you in their clutches. Or a better example would be like when Marty Byrd on the show Ozark had the Langamore girl make a deposit,, she didn't know it was illegal,, but he got her on tape by the banks cameras. Many gangstalkers probably do not want to be involved they are just drug into it.
I was told by a guy who seemed to be following me that in the early days of gangstalking it was a choice but now they're dragging anybody and everybody into it, I believe this is to support their coup. They don't care about the Constitution or basic human rights, that's why I'm trying to start a local chapter of Amnesty International. I'm not going to try to dominate the conversation within this chapter, I will suggest some issues just like every other volunteer, this is because: A. Everyone's issue is relevant to maintaining a fair and stable society and B. a person's gangstalki

Last one for 2021.....it has been a wild ride! I see 2022 as more of a year for chop traders, than hodlr hopium haves. We'll see, but my thesis is things are going to get a LOT more frustrating to tend from here.....a lot lot. Great for Traders, not so great for Hodlrs.
Risk on sentiment has stalled in broader markets today-volume is light and so conviction is absent. I expect nothing exciting until the tax loss selling goes live.
That is all textbook typical for this time of year, (big money off skiing in Vail).
I am still wary, but still see a slow grind up from here AFTER the fireworks storm that looks to be ready to unleash tonight settles. Reason is bargains galore with huge cash hordes on sidelines seeking a place to go....and FOMO is almost as strong a "thing" as gravity. Same Ole Same Ole!
Ms. Crypto Market still flattening out here===>largest caps back to bear trend (see chart at item 5.5 below, but temper that with the material in item 5.6), and wee wee hour fire sales are chill. Though tonight I expect much different.
The play today is to set long snares down deep in one hour primary supports, and day intermediate supports. Catch the wild extensions long, and dump them on the means reversion, then trade the subsequent range bound chop as it grinds up. We'll see if I get my goody. :)
1.0 MARKET UP FACTORS:
Bubble "Gone" (stuff is on relative sale-so 'price up!' probability is de facto higher)
Huge amount of cash on the sidelines seeking a place to go to work.
The 8000lb Gorilla Event In The Room (the Fed Speaky), is O-V-E-R.....markets are still adjusting!
Broader Markets Stalled-relevant correlations (SPX & VIX) absent, (*see chart at item 5.1)
VIX Moving Sideways (continuing bottoming pattern), nothing scary in view*
VIX of VIX doing ditto, nothing scary in view (*but I suspect that will change in January Week #1!)
Wee Wee Hour Fire Sales Called Off-for now, but not tonight! (=markets may destabilize briefly!)
Seasonality (markets usually grind up on avg into year end-but pattern has gone *poof* for crypto)
DOW THEORY Signal 100% Positive (general 'risk on' orientation ok)-but w/secondary reaction warning
Covid Fears Stable-Lockdown Damage Potential Stable (low political will here in the world landscape)
Hedge Fund Positioning Trend Reversal (=slight market up signal, see item 5.2 chart)

Does anyone know what weekend Thunder Ridge opens?
I have to come here to vent. My partner and I have been engaged for over a year - been together almost a decade. We were fortunate to lock in all of our vendors early to avoid scheduling issues/COVID issues. My partner wanted to have a ski mountain wedding. We both ski, and it was within our budget (note: we are paying for the wedding ourselves. I am paying about 65-70% of wedding costs, partner paying the balance - around 30-35%).
I have asked multiple times over the course of the year for my partners help. He has not been supportive or done any of the tasks I have asked (our wedding is in May and he still hasnβt picked a suit yet). I have no idea how to get him engaged and I am incredibly stressed and lost throughout this process and feel completely alone. Also, our venue is a Vail resort and itβs currently a shit show planning anything with them right now. They have cancelled our tasting twice and have flagged staff shortages on numerous occasions. I have cried at least once a week and my partner still offers absolutely no support to take anything off my plate despite me asking.
I am at a loss for words and feel completely defeated because every time I try to ask for help I get brushed off. My partner tells me my stress is a reflection of our relationship and granted I am very meticulous with planning and very detail oriented, but it is giving me major anxiety that he wonβt be engaged to help or offer any support. I have no idea what to do because I feel like Iβm being gaslit into thinking this is all my fault, when all I want is help/support planning our wedding.
Our Generous and Benevolent Leader u/Zapruda was kind enough to furnish me with a route, tips and guidance after I posted looking for a 120km-ish hike in the alps a little while back. Unfortunately had to cut this a little shorter than the originally planned 5 nights/6 days due to a variety of social commitments, but still managed to fit in a condensed 3 night/4 day version.
This was also a different kind of trip for me. Usually I set out on a set trail aiming for a set distance, either completing a loop or an out and back. That involves the usual planning of Day 1 being x number of miles (or km, still getting used to that), Day 2 reaching this point etc. This time it was more of an exploration. Had food to last through 5 days, so that meant we had flexibility to change things up and work things out on the fly. I also didnβt have the mental or physical energy to really get up early and push out big miles, so was happy with slow starts in the morning and being in camp by 6.
Overall, Iβd say I liked it this way but also like the physical challenge and clearly defined goals of more structured hikes. Itβs just a different mindset, and I would find it hard to switch between β Iβm either thinking one way, or another.
This was also my first time to Kosciuszko since I was a little kid.
Anyway, onto brass tacks.

Brought my puffy, gloves and beanie anticipating cold nights but honestly didnβt really need them. I had them mainly because I do like to sit out and look at the stars, but I found the mosquitos too thirsty so was in the tent most nights by 8.30 or 9. That said, theyβre worth having because the weather can change in the alpine.
Other than that, pretty happy with everything I took. Iβve been meaning to make a lighterpack but that may have to wait until the next trip report.
