A list of puns related to "Shelley Long"
Three's Company tried that when Suzanne Sommers left and Priscilla Barnes took over but the ratings suffered a slow decline and the show got cancelled after three seasons.
I think what helped was that the show became more of an ensemble whereas before Cheers was the Jack and Diane show. The first two seasons with Kirstie was clearly them trying to have Sam and Rebecca be the focus with Sam constantly trying to woo her but then they quit that and it became a ensemble with everybody getting to shine.
For me, I thought Alley was funnier than Shelley Long but Long was a better actress.
I'm in season 4 right now... and this episode was just amazing. They're all great actors, but when they're forced to face their true feelings in the face of death, just wow. It really showcased their acting abilities, and I was taken back by the emotion in that scene.
Strange but maybe true? She tells the story 2 minutes into this 2019 video:

The footage of the Kumbaya scene in GB2 has not shown up as a deleted scene, like a lot of still missing deleted GB2 scenes, but I think it's been documented that it was shot. Peter rounds up a group of firefighters outside the slimed museum to sing Kumbaya to try to break the slime, but it only forms a small hole in the slime shell. It's easy to see how they might have deleted this for their own reasons, as it's a dead end scene. However, it does help explain why the New Yorkers would start spontaneously singing at the end, if some had already witnessed this first attempt prompted by Peter. This deleted scene would be a very helpful set-up for the climax.
Someone must've told Shelley this story, but who knows if it was accurate. The big connection between the two films is that both were produced by Columbia, so the same executives could have seen rough cuts of both films. Both were also scored by Randy Edelman. GB2 came out less than 3 months after Troop Beverly Hills, so someone on GB2 may have learned about it by watching the film directly as well, in time to alter the cut of GB2..

βWhen I realised that she wrote Frankenstein here, I took a real interest in it. The more we read about her, the more you start to learn sheβs this extraordinary person and a visionary, whoβs not celebrated β- here or anywhere in the country,β said co-founder Chris Harris. βSheβs one of the most important figures in English literature. Her book is always cited as one of the Top 100 most important books, but [there had been] nothing.β
.
And Shelley wasnβt the only gothic author to tread these handsome streets. Gothic fiction pioneer Ann Radcliffe grew up in Bath decades before Shelley arrived, and then in the 1970s Angela Carter, the godmother of modern gothic feminist fiction, also lived in the city.

I feel Long was too shrill and whiny and the whole "I'm too snooty to work in a bar" got old pretty quickly. I was tired of how much Long was a fish out of water and I didn't think she and Ted Danson had this great chemistry.
I thought Alley was funnier, she made her character into a total loser but unaware of it and I liked that she was at times unlikable. It was more entertaining to see Rebecca fail at everything than Diane complaining about how she's too good to work in a bar and her love-hate relationship with Danson.
I have to admit, it wasn't just Sam that was in love with you.....xx
And deserved to have the film career that she left Cheers for.

A charming comedy that was the perfect distraction for me this afternoon. Tom Hanks isn't really known for slapstick, but he does it very well. Shelley Long is somewhat out of character here as well, since she's kind of Diane-ing but doing a fair bit of physical comedy as well.
The dialogue is snappy, and Hanks and Long are more than up for it. But it's not Tarantino. There's a few chuckles in it, and they have good chemistry. The heart of the movie, and it kind of eases its way into the more ridiculous bits, is really the sight gags and the elaborate Rube Goldberg style calamities that befall them. That's where you'll find some belly laughs.
But it's all light hearted. There's no spite in this film. There's not really any drama. That's not to say there are no stakes, only that it's all pointed in the direction of pure escapism.
This movie isn't going to change your life. It's not going to leave you thinking about it months later and finding new facets of it to enjoy. But it is, I think, one of the best movies you could choose to watch if you're just looking to kill some time.
I started watching Cheers a couple months ago and am on Season 6 right now. While I liked Diane I definitely get why people don't like her, with some of her actions ranging from annoying to Batshit Insane. Even so, I feel like Shelley Long brought Diane's character to great heights with her fantastic acting.
I never felt like there was an episode where she phoned it in. Shelley's performance in each episode felt like she was putting everything into it. Those 5 seasons of Diane really made me appreciate Shelley Long as an actress and also make me a bit sad that her career didn't really take off after she left Cheers.
It seems like she's had pretty mediocre roles after Cheers with nothing nearly as big ever happening in the rest of her career. I wonder how her acting/comedy chops are holding up today, I'd really like to see her have a big role in something new like Ted Danson in the Good Place.

One of the prevalent traits of the transformational energies you are currently in is the opportunity to come to a place of peace with past trauma.
There is a persistent belief system in many human beings that you cannot heal beyond trauma, that once you have experienced it you are forever scarred or broken. What we wish for you to understand is you absolutely can move into a space of reintegration and wholeness.
In fact, the fact that you have a challenge indicates you also have the full potential to heal it. You simply would not choose to come into the body with a theme to explore without also holding the potential to master that theme. To have one without the other would serve no purpose.
This doesnβt mean you will forget about where youβve been. Your experiences are part of the mosaic of who you are. But what we are saying is that you absolutely can come to a place of acceptance and peace with it as part of your story and the past will no longer control your future.
Please understand that trauma memories may come up for you during this time. This is not in any way proof that you are forever broken. Far from it! The trauma memories appear because fragments that occurred at that time are ready and waiting to be loved into wholeness.
You are your safe place, your healer, your nurturing parent, your soother, your comforter, and your open-armed welcoming committee that is so excited to reconnect with those innocent parts of yourself that have been waiting to come Home to you. How glorious that you have evolved into the knowing that you are absolutely capable of being that love for yourself. ~Archangel Gabriel through Shelley Young

... keep reading on reddit β‘Today was an amazing day. With the update coming, I had no idea what to expect. I know IOHK and Charles have learned from the FUDers not to promise any dates, because that makes people sad apparently. For me, there was never a doubt. After literally 100's if not 1000's of hours of research over the last 4 years, Cardano has been my #1 the entire time. Over the last 4 years, endless amounts of FUD have been spread from ETH, EOS some XTZ folks, etc., and initially it got me worked up, because I didn't understand how they couldnt see the beauty in the technology and intentions of this project. After a while, I realized I was thankful, because it allowed me to learn more about Cardano (and stock up more too :))
Note: I am heavily invested in ETH as well, and have loved the project for longer than Cardano (but not more)
I am not the most computer science savvy person, but when I heard about ETH 2.0, I knew it was huge for ADA. If Shelley were to be launched, it would be an accumulation of some of the most beautiful research, science and engineering to date, for so many reasons. With Shelley now scheduled, I truly believe Cardano has taken a step towards, if not up with or even ahead of Ethereum. *THAT SAID* As Charles recognizes all the time, this is a space that will allow for many successful projects, and I really do like ethereum a lot and believe it will be successful.
When Charles came on the screen today in the update, I knew. In my opinion, this is some of the largest news in the crpyto space, almost ever, aside from the creation of BItcoin, Ethereum, and some of the large scams.
What do you guys think? Am I little too excited? Or is this truly as large as it seems for Cardano?

Some human beings donβt allow themselves to fully heal from past hurts because they feel like that is letting the person who hurt you βoff the hookβ, or it is saying that what happened to you was ok. This simply isnβt so. What healing does mean is you love yourself enough now as an empowered adult to untether yourself from what doesnβt honour you once and for all.
Putting off your healing to teach someone a lesson or to try to hold someone accountable hurts no one but yourself. Let the universe provide the checks and balances necessary for the other personβs soul growth and evolution, and allow yourself to move forward, shining in your wellness and truth, filled with wonder for your own resilience and innate wholeness.
