In "Bloodlines", it's stated that Rya'c is 12 years old.

In "The Light", Teal'c says he is 101 years old, closing in on 102.

Those episodes are ~3 years apart, so Teal'c would have been 98 when Rya'c was 12, meaning Teal'c was 86 when Rya'c was born.

I'm watching the series through for the first time and this point I don't really understand.

They are living lives as outcasts on Chu'lak. Their home was burned. Even if the Goa'uld buy that Teal'c killed the priest and such, does Rya'c now not have a much larger larvae (Teal'c's) in him? Isn't that highly suspicious? From their perspective it seems incredibly risky to stay behind on Chu'lak, and if they went to Earth they would be able to live with Teal'c. The same goes for Bra'tac really, though I can see why he may want to remain behind to stir rebellion.

Overall it just seems ridiculous that they don't go with him and I can't see any real explanation for it. On Earth they would be safe, free, and be able to live with their father/husband. So why don't they leave?

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
