With everything going on so far since 2020, stocks are going up, cryptocurrency is booming, trading card values going up, technology advancing, more people are being made millionaires, are we in the wake of another roaring twenties?
i realize this is my own bias, don't think I'm a prophet or anything, but all my friends/fam are saying they are going to party/travel/indulge when all this is over. Wouldn't it be smart to invest in like booze companies right now? Or travel/entertainment etc... Obviously no one knows for sure but seems like a smart move.
Hi there. I was wondering what the correlation between the debauchery of the Roaring Twenties and the end of WWI was. How did the concentration of the "American Dream" at this time contribute to the nature of the Roaring Twenties, which was only years after the war?
Do you think it was that the war made Americans realize the American Dream was not actually attainable? If so, why was debauchery so rampant? As a distraction from the loss of hope?

Luckily shorting, is a short term fix. More cash to avoid margin call and more blood to bleed.
Now the whole market is down, but sentiment is changing
Bears closing shorts after large gains, Institutions data indicates bullish reversal, Prices too good to turn down
Price of ETFs start going up, shorts are unable to survive, margin calls
It will be a bloodbath, I assume almost every single gamestop short will be liquidated. It makes sense as an investor to be either 0 or 100% in gme. Play the market or play its inverse hedge.

Boomers and many investment books cite 5-10 % annual returns as good. In the recent months many stocks have gone up 3 - 5 X and the Nasdaq is up about 30% compared to Jan 2020. As an investor (M26) who entered the stock market in Aug 2020, I have turned 2000 dollars to 4000 dollars and I am a rookie!
Does this mean the new norm for investing success outcomes is becoming 20-50%? Is this a sign of accelerating technological revolution, growing share of retail Investors or the impending 2021 crash - looking for some discussion on this.
