A list of puns related to "Ridgewood"
Longtime Ridgewood resident, just moved to a spot on Forest, a couple blocks south of the Forest Ave stop.
Plugged in speakers for the first time today and got the level of RF noise that happens when my cell phone is directly on top of the speaker and gets a text...but my phone was on airplane. Moved the speakers to the far opposite end of the apartment (itβs a long railroad) and experienced the exact same phenomenon.
What gives? Anyone else ever have something like this happen? I used to live closer to Dekalb and never had an issue like this. Is there a cell tower right here or something?
I tried to post in r/Ridgewood but got an error message saying I wasnβt allowed to post there (donβt know why).
Hi all!
I recently moved to the area and am hoping to get more involved in the arts community here, plus I have some time on my hands. Does anyone know of any community or performance art project/spaces/organizations that are looking for volunteers or PT assistance?
Thanks!
iβm a young female, great renting history and have a sufficient amount of money in savings plus a guarantor. have been living in bushwick off the dekalb L stop and absolutely loved it but it was on a short term lease so now that thatβs over with i need to find a new place. looking for either a room or preferably a 2 bedroom apartment as i have a roommate whose down to move with me. month to month or sublet is preferred, my budget is around $800 (can be flexible).
Does anyone know of any donut shops in Ridgewood/Queens that arenβt Dunkin that sell classic donuts? Not looking for specialty donuts or βmake your ownβ 9 dollar donuts, literally just the classics. The fanciest it gets is likeβ¦Long Johns and Cinnamon rolls. Maybe a glazed twist.
Bonus if they have a 50 year old fridge that has milk and maybe water in it. Extra points if there is a coffee counter except you can really only get black coffee and you add in your own cream and sugar.
Hi all,
I recently got a notice in the mail from Ridgewood water company about the level of PFA's and PFOA's in their drinking water. I've been doing a lot of research since then on this topic because I am woefully uneducated when it comes to water quality standards, but I still feel a little lost and haven't seen anyone else talking about this notice. I can't come to a conclusion of whether I should buy a new water filter to specifically treat PFA and PFOA content.
To anyone who receives their home water supply from Ridgewood water company, do you have a filter specifically for removing PFO's or PFOA's? Do you think it's worth investing in one? I just wanted to get a general idea of what other people are possibly doing about this. I'll attach an image below of the back of the notice I received.
Hey guys, I moved to the area a couple weeks ago and want to make some skater friends. I'm pretty new to skating.
Hi there,
I realize this is a bit of a biased audience, but does anyone have thoughts on how Astoria and Bushwick/Ridgewood compare? My husband and I are moving to NYC next month and are mainly looking at these two neighborhoods. We both work in downtown Manhattan, but only have to commute a few days every week. We're in our mid/late twenties (no kids right now) and aren't big on bars/nightlife. We do love food, though, especially ethnic foods. And we like to cook as well.
We have friends and family located in different parts of the city (Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens), so itβs important for us to be somewhere thatβs somewhat centrally located. We realize that getting between Brooklyn and Astoria is a pain, though. We are planning to sell our car before we move since it seems like a bad idea to own a car in NYC, but tell us if thatβs a bad move.
We'd love to hear from folks who've lived in both places and can speak about their commonalities/differences. They both seem like places that are interesting and have good options within our budget.
Hello everyone - hope all is well.
We are currently renting in queens and found some good property in Queens(Ridge wood, middle village) and NJ (Nutley, Lyndhurst) to invest or live in. We all know queens is much expensive than NJ.
Wondering anyone move to NJ from queens or stayed in queens for invest/live in?
Thank you
Me and my girlfriend are looking to move in together and have been looking at place over the last couple of months to no avail. Any brokers out there with leads on 1BRs in Ridgewood/Bushwick/Sunnyside?
Looking for someone who is/ wants to get serious about fitness. I am a member of the Blink in Ridgewood so would be looking for someone with that as their home gym. I mostly stick to cardio but would like to commit to 3-4x/wk and to start working on strength training.
Hey folks! We've hosted a few brewery/craft beer meetups and are planning another one this Sunday, October 24, starting at 1pm. Here's the expected itinerary:
1pm - Queens Brewery
2pm - Bridge and Tunnel Brewery
3pm - Evil Twin Brewery
All three breweries are within a few blocks of the Halsey Street stop on the L. Hope to see you there!
Edit: Bridge and Tunnel hasn't opened yet, so we're going to Queens Brewery first
Hello pros and hackers alike! I have posted my first attempt at making a course, and it's the muni course I have played many times in my life here in Northeast Ohio. I really focused on the layout and tried to make it accurate, with a few tweaks to yardages to lengthen the course for benefit of the game. I know that it may not be anyone who's actually played Ridgewood to find it in 2k21, but the course has sentimental value to me.
If you have the time, I'd love for you all to check it out. Thanks and enjoy.
