A list of puns related to "Realtek"
So basically i just bought a pair of Sennheiser HD 560S after doing a bit of research and i was curious how to get the best audio settings, im assuming the equalizer being on "none" is the most "normal sound" and i started playing around with it by playing music and movies
"powerful" is probably the one that stood out to me the most while the rest were meh, also the sample rate i read its not good to choose the very last option?
im kinda new to all this
tl;dr at the end.
Let me preface this by saying that I have not had many issues with my Lenovo Legion 5 (15ACH6H) ever since I bought it in July 2021. I've spent quite some time reading/watching reviews before I decided to go with Lenovo again. I mostly paid attention to the more important parts of the laptop (graphics card, processor etc) and honestly I've never seen a single mention of potential wifi card problems anywhere.
Ever since I got my laptop I've been quite dissatisfied with the wifi connection. It would lag every now and then and I'd get random ping spikes while gaming on a very stable and fast fiber connection. Initially I blamed the games that I play and thought it's just the servers acting up as they sometimes do, but after quite a while I noticed that the problem simply persists and happens quite routinely every few minutes or even more often. Time passed and I started noticing that I can't unplug the charger from my laptop as the wifi would die instantly, Realtek's wifi adapter card would show up as 'inactive' in the device manager and I'd have to reboot the system for the card to start working again AND sometimes even reinstall the card entirely (meaning uninstalling it in the device manager and letting the system install it again). For quite some time I've been noticing how me and my partner would play the same game on two different laptops and he'd never get a single ping spike nor lag, while I'd constantly get those. Moreover, I made sure the drivers were up-to-date and as much as streaming things wasn't an issue, constant wifi drops during gaming and the card dying when unplugged finally became unacceptable. Recently I have read many topics on reddit about people experiencing simmilar issues, suggesting updating the drivers, switching some options on and off and in the end, after many things tried out, I decided to get the intel card that everyone's been recommending.
So today I finally got my Intel Wifi 6 AX200 card and as terrified as I was to change the card manually myself (I don't like doing such things out of fear I'll break something, simply), I prepared myself by reading all the necessary manuals and watched a few youtube vids, got myself some good tools and after an hour of fighting with the back cover and small screws I managed to switch out the wifi adapters. Booted up my laptop, the card was recognized immediately, installed proper bluetooth and wifi drivers from Intel's site and decided to test the connection. S

My speeds seem fine in a speed test but gaming was unplayable with constant pinging, spike, lag, everything... I know I can just switch the card but that's not my question.
Do all 2021 legions have realtek wifi cards?
Thanks in advance.
Has anyone figured out how to get their wireless and Ethernet adapters working in Linux? RealTek apparently does not play nice at all, and I am debating whether or not to just get a new wireless card. However, Iβm not sure if the Intel AX200 is whitelisted or not? Plus, wouldnβt that only solve the wireless adapter issue?
SUPPOSEDLY kernel 5.16 is adding support for the RealTek wifi adapter, but Iβm not sure if thatβs confirmed, yet.
Please help me save what little hair I have left
Hi there,
I'm having a problem deleting the Realtek Audio Driver hdxadcmax8.inf version 6.0.1.8569 from a Dell Latitude 5480. I have several Latitude 5480s flagging the hdxadcmax8.inf which prevents a Win10 OSD upgrade long story short.
I have tried:

... keep reading on reddit β‘Suddenly I am no longer able to see Realtek HD audio device under Device Manager, I have tried uninstalling drivers, resetting to last knows checkpoint also a fresh OS installation but nothing seem to work. I do not know if the sound card is an explicit chip ( I think now-a-days we only get embed ) which i can check if is unhooked or damaged somehow. Using an USB sound card is not my first choice as I have 2/3 USB ports occupied by my mouse/keyb and a controller ( I know i can get a hub but its just more messy ). Any ideas on what should i check next or something that could fix this issue? Any help would be really appreciated.
P.S. As the realtek device is not detected my 3.5mm jack is pretty useless as well, so only source of audio is bluetooth and as i do not have an aptX compatible headphone I could either user good quality stereo mode on my headphones and no Mic, or shitty quality handsfree mode with mic.
Ever since I could remember, damn near every motherboard contains a Realtek chip.
Why don't motherboard manufacturers consider Qualcomm or Mediatek or even Intel audio for their motherboards?
do you ever get to the point of rage and despair where you would be willing take your firstborn and sacrifice it to a god that could fix a problem or a atleast strike down a dev who's responsible for it?
That's how I feel about the steaming pile of shit that's called realtek. I had the Realtek Audio Console a couple of months ago, I was able to tweak the equalizer until shit hit the CPU Fan recently, it updated my audio drivers, the Audio Console threw the towel facing this complex problem and gave me the finger in the form "not compatible with this device lulw eat shit" I searched for a solution, nothing worked. I de-installed it today to re-install this chucklefuck software again AND NOW EVEN THE MC APP STORE IS LIKE "we ain't got that crap either fucknugget" AND I'M ABOUT .308 MY PC WHERE DO I GET THIS AUDIO CONSOLE FROM, I JUST WANNA EQUALIZE MY SOUND

Hi all, hoping someone can help. I have Pop OS on my Surface 4 and need to use a USB Ethernet adaptor sometimes. The adaptor uses the RTL8152 chip but Pop OS doesn't seem to be picking up on it at all. Previously, it has worked on older versions like 20.04 and 20.10. I have tested it on another machine and know it works.
I did get a driver package, with the name "41324ED189CDE2F_linux0003-r8152.53-2.05.0" and tried to compile it with make, but this just errors.
I first extract it with tar xvf 41324ED189CDE2F_linux0003-r8152.53-2.05.0.tar.bz2
Then I when I run make, I get the following output

Help
I accidentally uninstalled Realtek audio manager, Iβve tried reinstalling the program/ drivers. The download is in a continuous loop and doesnβt download anything so I canβt get to the audio manager. Iβm at my wits end with this. I can get on discord and screen share as well.
Hello! So, I have a Predator Helios 300 laptop and I got a Razer BlackShark V2 X headset for Christmas. I specifically got this one for the mic. My issue is, I can use the headphones part just fine BUT the mic isn't recognized. When I go into Sounds and Recording, my mic shows up as disconnected. Even the headset itself shows up as disconnected even though I'm listening to videos through it. When I try to right click and connect them, nothing happens. What is connected in the Playback section is Realtek (R) Audio and in the Recording section it's also Realtek (R) Audio. I do not have Realtek HD Audio Manager. Can someone please help me? I've been at this all day.
I have been trying out things to do with sound by installing such things as Realtek modified drivers, APO drivers and ATMOS software.
I'm wanting to remove it all and get back to simple motherboard drivers for the Realtek audio. So I uninstalled everything and removed the extra drivers that were added.
In device manager, Realtek audio device was removed by the installation of some of the other stuff. Now the other stuff is gone, Realtek audio device isn't detected. How do I get it back?
I have tried reinstalling drivers - no luck
'System restore' has an error stopping it - grrr.
Also is there anywhere that I can get more information on how APO/ASIO drivers and other things like wasapi etc all fit together to get the final result? (I have read https://www.reddit.com/r/htpc/wiki/audio)
Hi All,
So apparently, the Realtek HD Audio manager that used to be a pretty decent app (managing multiple audio jacks) has been deprecated and moved to the Windows Store, where I can't even get it to install.
This is the link to the Realtek app on the Windows Store
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/realtek-audio-control/9p2b8mcsvpln#activetab=pivot:overviewtab
The Windows Store is throwing an error on install that says:
Something unexpected happened
Reporting this problem will help us understand it better. You can wait a bit and try again or restart your device. That may help.
Code: 0x803FB005
** Restarting does not help, nor purging the Windows Store app itself as suggested by googling the error code -- other apps download and install properly from the Windows Store
I have read online that the app reportedly will not install if the proper Realtek drivers aren't loaded. I however, can confirm that my onboard audio has been properly installed with the following entry in the device manager under Sound, video and game controllers:
Realtek High Definition Audio
Driver Date 12/14/2021
Driver Version: 6.0.9282.1
I followed this link on the ASUS forums to get this set of drivers:
There does not seem to be any updated drivers for newer audio chips on the Realtek website.
Has anyone solved this issue and gotten the Realtek Audio Control to install? Would like to be able to configure my audio jacks again!
Relevant Specs:
Ryzen 5th Gen
Asus X570 CH8 Dark Hero
Windows 10 21H2 (current feature pack update)
Thanks for looking!
EDIT: Posting a quick update.
I apparently installed the wrong driver.
Was pointed to the right one by a rep on the ASUS forum and it's working already.
I just popped a USB Realtek WiFi into my Ubuntu 16 box (that I plan to upgrade soon). The hardware is detected:
# inxi -N
Network: Card-1: Intel Ethernet Connection I217-LM driver: e1000e
Card-2: Edimax EW-7811Un 802.11n Wireless Adapter [Realtek RTL8188CUS] driver: rtl8192cu
Anyone know the next step to get it to talk?
I have recieved my new XMG and I must say it is one of a beautiful laptop.
I have just one problem. The sound is very week, even on 100% volume the sound is really silent, even my 13inch old xiaomi laptop is louder. I think there is something wrong with the drivers, I also do not see Realtek Manager in Control Panel and when I hook up my headphones through JACK... laptop doesn't recognise it at all. Also I can turn on the THX software, but changes made there don't affect the sound.
Can You please help me with this one?
Beside poor sound quality... I LOVE IT.
I'm going to be buying a laptop on which I plan to dual boot Linux and Windows. When looking for what to avoid when purchasing a laptop for Linux use, I notice a lot of people recommended avoiding anything from Nvidia or Realtek. I'm already leaning towards an AMD laptop so avoiding Nvidia shouldn't be an issue. Are there any other brands I should avoid when purchasing a laptop for Linux?
Also, are there any resources I can check to see how well a laptop runs Linux? I know there's Ubuntu certified hardware but it looks like they have a limited selection of laptops, and "certified hardware" seems like a much higher bar than what I need to meet. Even something as simple as a site in which people report their experiences using Linux on a given model of laptop would be acceptable.
In the Realtek Audio Console, there was a pair of icons above the slider for the Speaker (same for the Microphone), both in the "Main" tab. One is shaped like a checkmark-ed box, another is a phone. They were originally grayed out, but I clicked on them, turning them red (my default windows color), which then also stopped my USB C earbuds from functioning. It also stopped the popup that asks "Which device did you plugin?" from appearing when I plugged my headphones in through the normal audio jack, although I was able to continue playing audio by manually telling my computer that there was a headphone/headphone with mic plugged in. I can't turn off the checkmark-ed box and the phone icon. I don't want to reinstall the Realtek Audio Console (and I can't find any official installation for it anyways). I should mention that the normal speakers work, it's just the USB C earbuds that has stopped working, and the "Which device did you plugin?" popup which has stopped appearing. Here's a picture of what my Realtek Audio Console looks like:

It all started when I was playing ESO with a friend. When out of nowhere. My computer crashes. It was odd, but not unusual. These things happen from time to time. I restart my pc and it boots up and then crashes after login. Gave me a few BSOD errors. It kept doing that. The few moments I was able to get into it long enough to check the dump files. It told me that it was an issue with the Realtek Driver. I canβt remember the exact name, because it crashed immediately after. Iβve tried reinstalling ALL my drivers and the bios. Nothing worked. I even took a bullet and reset my pc and wiped everything. Did a clean install of windows. Got back to square one. Everything seemed fine and then boom. The crashing begins again. Now itβs stuck in the infinite Automatic Repair cycle of just crashing. Eventually after doing that it goes to black screen with a flashing underscore symbol and wonβt continue until restarted. Any and all help is appreciated.
Hey guys, maybe you can help me with this, I could no find any solutions elsewhere:
When I update my Graphics Card drivers (MSI Radeon RX6600XT), it always screws up my audio drivers. Weirdly, my monitor (which is connected via DisplayPort and has actually no speakers built in) is showing up as the only audio device - needless to say, I have no audio at that point.
I then have to go to MSI's website, navigate to the driver page of my Motherboard (Z690 Pro-A Wi-Fi DDR5), download the audio driver, install it, reboot, and it works fine. But only until the next Radeon driver update.
Could you point me to a possible cause or solution for this issue? Thanks in advance!
Just wanted to share, as it took me a very long time to realize a solution for my hackintosh audio issue with macOS Monterey
CPU: Intel core i7 10700K
GPU: MSI RX 570 8GB (Intel UHD 630 is present but not used for a display)
RAM: G Skill Trident Z, 32 GB (16 GB x 2) 3200 MHz DDR4
Motherboard: Asus Z490-A Prime
Audio codec: RealtekS1220A
Ethernet: Intel I225-V 2.5Gb Ethernet
Wifi/Bluetooth: Youbo Broadcom4360 Wifi AC + Bluetooth 4.0 PCIe Card
Case: Lian Li LanCool 2
CPU Cooler: Corsair iCUE H100i Capellix Liquid AIO cooler
Context first: it's been fully successful hackintosh build until macOS Monterey changed a few things for me. First is that my audio outputs stopped appearing since Monterey, and ive been troubleshooting this for weeks in my free time. Apple Watch unlock stopped too but ill sort that out later with BlueToolFixup.Kext or something I believe.
I did follow the opencore install guide and used the results I kept getting from GFXUtil in terminal. So things kept not working as a I made backups of my EFI folder(s) and kept trying to change different things in config.plist, nothing worked understandably.
even if you're using GFXUtil on macOS Monterey, and the output says that your Audio codec is located here:
PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1F,0x3)
that may be incorrect for you too - I found a rude person in a comment somewhere lol, explaining how the default audio output location is typically listed as this below instead, (and it's listed this way too in the OC Install Guide for Comet Lake 0.7.5):
PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1b,0x0)
I changed this within device properties to reflect PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1b,0x0) instead, and everything worked again as it did before.
for macOS Big Sur and lower, that choice of "PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1F,0x3)" in Device Properties had worked for by build worked just fine. And it's what GFXUtil tells me to use for my audio codec, while on macOS Monterey too.
So its like, I dk whether to just accept it as a bug within gfxutil, or something? or if it's something work looking into - hope this may help someone!
