A list of puns related to "Radio Communication"
My site (a semi-large mall) is currently looking at updating our radio communications SOP because it seems more and more people are too stupid to learn relatively standard 10 codes. I have been tasked with coming up with more basic communication.
Currently, we use a combination of 10 codes, signals, and codes. I plan to go to a more plain talk system using codes and signals for more sensitive information or things that need to be said quickly.
My question is what is radio communications like where you work?
Hello there.
I asked a hypothetical question about if a lot of things went badly a couple of days ago.
The general response I got was โradio is the best way to communicate in most situations when everything else failsโ.
My question is: whatโs a good ham radio that I can buy, two way communication, between at least 200 km without much interference.
Any type of good recommendations are very much appreciated.
Regards! :)
I'm pretty noob with building stuff in sw but know the basics. I want a radio connection between two stations that's encrypted so that others can't hear what being said trough the channel. Is that possible and is there a microcontroller for that?
Zamenhof made mistakes, and pronouns is one of them.
Since Esperanto is supposed to be pronounced in a "pure" manner, you lose much of the clues in nasality of the i sound mi, vi and ni.
Especially without visual clues it makes it hard to differentiate, something that doesn't really happen in English (because of context). Over low-fidelity communication channels with a lot of noise, it is not the end of the word to not being able to differentiate, say n and m in English (and the same goes for most natlangs). After all, natlangs evolved naturally to tackle unexpected issues while constructed languages can't naturally adapt as easily to such issues because that would raise incompatibilities with the other speakers of that language.
And it is not just pronouns. Sometimes mishearing a t for a d means that your dad is an alcoholic instead of just drinking water (mia patro trinkas
vs. mia patro drinkas
). I first noticed this on Duolingo, and there are whole threads on how using noise-cancelling headphones instead of earbuds or a crappy smartphone can dramatically make hearing these differences much clearer.
This brings me to radio communication, or just chatting on Internet in general. Occasionally I chat in Esperanto on Telegram using voice calls. But since most people use either smartphones or a laptop with a cheap microphone/speaker, it can be tough to differentiate those slight nuance in the sound (especially when audio clips or comes with noise).
Since the telephone did exist when Zamenhof lived, did he ever consider how the language would work under low-fidelity conditions? Have there been attempts to change something in the language to avoid such ambiguities?
And if you are stubborn and idiotic, just create a "XMas game mode" and this happens there. I am not playing this game anymore till they remove this tbh
Back on Nov 9-11, 2021 Ken rice was being interviewed and mentioned Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd.
Everything below is all about Meta Materials Inc. product called NANOWEBยฎ
The following is from Sekisui Chemical's Web page. https://www-sekisui-co-jp.translate.goog/news/2021/1368689_37322.html?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en-GB
"We plan to start sample sales in 2022 and aim for sales of 6 billion yen in 2026." That's approx $52m for just one product in one market." It's a start. It will only grow from here.
If you are interested in what Ken rice said in this interview you can follow the link to Sterling Stocks YouTube channel. I have it set up to start around the 1:02 time mark. What they want to do with 5G in Japan is to "enshroud the whole country in our film." https://youtu.be/0eOBnmsQ9EQ?t=62
If you want to see part of the presentation on this, the link below explains. you will need to go to page 8 and 9. It mentions the films Ken Rice is talking about. Transparent Passive 5G Reflector and Invisible Antenna Enhances Indoor 5Gand Digital TV Reception.

As far as I can tell only the germans did such crew layout, i.e. making the guy next to the driver the radio man. Other nations named him machine gunner or assistant driver.
Obviously post WW2 the TC gained direct access to radio but, in my impression, mostly because 2nd guy in the hull position becoming obsolete and not because of the radio specifically.
Basing the assumption on Chieftain's videos on Pz 3, 4 and Panther.
"ATC telephone this is Reddit User idonthavemoney"...?
Just a thought: I think it would be a good idea for us to divide up into communications teams in each of our cities and establish radio networks to coordinate supplies and other important actions for a strike. While I know we have cell phones and those will probably be easier, radios (CB, HAM, GMRX) should not be overlooked at least as a back up. Here is why, it will be easier to keep in contact with different teams, or members in your team at all times instead of having to have someone constantly checking their phone to see if they got a call or a text. And it allows for multiple chatter at the same time, instead of having to wait for one person to wait for the line to stop being busy.
Hey! My wife currently lives in Southern California and Iโm in Northern California. I worry about a situation in which communication networks went down and I wouldnโt be able to get to her.
The distance between us is roughly 500 miles.
Iโm basically looking to set up ham radios or something similar to that, that are relatively portable, in order to always be able to reach her in the case of communication networks failing.
Do you all have any recommendations?
Iโm currently looking into LoRa Meshtastic but I would prefer something able to support audio if possible.
Thanks!
Was flying from TOA to MYF with flight following, approaching SNA class C. Was given a handoff to the next controller. Checked in and was told "Skyhawk calling, standby". Do I still have two way radio communications or should I stay outside of class C?
I haven't flown IFR in many months, I honestly haven't done much besides uncontrolled flying, and my radio communication skills are a bit rusty. One of the things i've been told that increases your radio communications confidence is knowing what to expect, and I know there really are only so many different things that could be said on the radio. Now I know there are some good AOPA articles, and there is the Pilot/Controller Glossary, but I am wondering, is there some source that is sort of an all encompassing guide or document for radio communications? (that maybe includes different types of flights, airspace, situations, VFR, IFR, just any potential type of flight that really increases your radio communication competence). I have yet to find one.
