A list of puns related to "Plural Executive"
I am from Georgia, a state with (I believe) the second largest number of elected cabinet members in the country. I understand that being a plural executive, positions like AG have power independent from the governor, unlike the federal government. How does this work in reality? How much control does the governor have over his cabinet, and how are disputes over this settled? Is this a frequent issue?
In Federalist no. 70 of the Federalist Papers, Alexander Hamilton argues against a system like a plural executive in Rome. I was just wondering if he could have been wrong and somehow a plural executive could work for the US.

Thank you to Zenos for alerting me to a broken link for the Bank of Commerce [BCOM] prospectus in the IPO Tracker section. It's now fixed! Thanks also to Jing for the meme love, and to Hipolito for asking for an update on the PNB property dividend that was declared last year. Turns out, PNB disclosed receipt of SEC approval during my Christmas vacation, so things are still moving along!
Big thanks to Bulo Sehi, for the unsolicited testimonial and for dropping my Twitter newsletter subscription link. Six new Barkadans joined the group thanks to your link!
Thank you to all the beta testers, like HatsNDiceRolls, for all the feedback and bug spotting with the new referral system. They really went at it, so now I (thankfully) have some work to do on it before I can roll it out. Thanks beta testers!

Previously on Rock of Love: Bus: Skanks! In all of their drunken, stripping, sloppy, stumbling, squabbling, choking, shotglass-in-the-vagina glory. This morning I totally said a silent prayer of thanks that this show is back on the air.
Bret's lovely ladies awaken and ready themselves for another cotton-mouthed day on the road. Farrah tells us how sad she is that Gia was eliminated. She describes Gia as a cool chick, and a member of the Blondetourage. Who served a shot out of her lady bits, as you may recall. Gia taught all of womanhood a very important lesson, which Farrah recounts for us: "Note to self: do not show your va-jay-jay in public." This has been one to grow on.
Farrah and Megan have a talk as they apply their pounds of makeup, wherein Farrah advises Megan to step it up and ensure that she gets some time with Bret. Megan doesn't want to hang all over Bret. Farrah says that she'd rather hang all over him than not talk to him at all. Farrah, who has her boobs on full display even during this casual makeup session, obviously knows of what she speaks and so I think Megan would be wise to take her advice. Farrah thinks that Megan should say, "Hey! I have an announcement. This is Megan!" And then point to herself. I maybe take back what I just said about Farrah being an Ann Landers-quality advice guru after all. It all falls apart when she gets to the specifics. Megan interviews that she's not going to go up to Bret and get half-naked, because she respects Bret. I'm not going to waste any more time on what she says because with this line of thinking she's obviously going to be eliminated.
Meanwhile, Marcia has made the executive decision to switch buses and get away from her archnemesis, Ashley. She makes it seem like this is all her idea and that the restraining order has nothing to do with it. On one of the buses, the girls find a postcard from Bret. It reads: "Good morning my faithful fifteen -- You're [SIC!!!!!] next stop on our tour is Indianapolis! It's time to see you rocking down the aisle! Write me your wedding vows and bring me a gift showing me exactly who you are. The only way to be by my side, is if I can see you as my bride." Kudos to the VH1 lackey who strove for authenticity by beginning this postcard with the improper use of "you're" and continuing with awkward phrasing and punctuation. It's just as if it had been penned by Mr. Michaels himself! Bret interviews that even though he's never made it

Leo
When everyone was off the Icarus Leo kept the introductions relatively short because he was going to be a little busy today. The first thing he asked was Fel to take him to the weapon that Tei used, because it was something that he wanted to see for himself given her description of the runes. Which is how he found himself in his testing room with a dozen or so large crates from the Venomara vaults, some left outside as they were too large to be brought in.
Although Leo was intending to only inspect the item before leaving to deal with the captured dragons and whoever they sent to negotiate for them, his mind was currently stalled at the enchanted sword that Fel gave him.
The sword was a double edge, gold and silver, three foot long, and overly ornate gilded blade. It was the definition of extravagant with runes covering the entire thing, but these runes were vastly different from the ones that he could make. Unlike the smooth shapes that faintly glowed blue, these runes were sharp and rigid shapes that had a yellow tint to its glow, and if he didn't know any better they seemed to almost resemble Celtic runes.
The runes didn't have any sort of visible connections, which was just further proof that it worked off an entirely different system, but that is not what caused his jaw to hang as he gawked at the inscription on either side of the blade.

But I am a SNEK. At least, I am a Snek to all of the anti-ComputerShare and anti-DRS posters.
I have yet to see anything countering the main benefit of registering, which is locking up float certificates. Which can lead to the MOASS.
In my opinion it is the only way to MOASS.
I keep seeing FUD and skepticism on ComputerShare. It's slowly dying off, but I think it is too important for me to not continue pushing this.
So, hopefully, this clears it up for skeptics or those who are cautious and why DRS is the way.

I knew that damn Pomeranian was a shill this whole time.
Sorry if anyone has fear of snakes. Hopefully the above is less spooky.
As a boiler plate, you will want to understand some potential risks behind registering your shares. Again - not financial advice. It is your choice on whether or not to direct register. In my opinion the pros of direct registering vastly outweigh the cons, but don't take my word for it.
From ComputerShare itself, the securities are not protected by standard SIPC or FDIC insurance:
>CIP accounts, the securities held therein and any cash temporarily held on behalf of a Participant are not deposits of Computershare and are not insured by the Securities Investor 14 Protection Corporation (SIPC), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) or any other federal or state agency
This is mainly because your shares are not "street name" registered any more but rather "book name" registered via direct registration. So, that is something to consider.

Through political wrangling, Lavrentiy Beria was able to oust his replacement and take over the remnants of the Soviet Union.
What followed were massive purges that fractured the Union; some of the opposition fled east and formed a Soviet Republic at Novosibirsk, while Beria and the rest of the Soviet remnants were left at Perm. Led by Andrei Zhdanov, the Novosibirsk governmentβs pro-Stalinist alienated many, causing Marshal Georgy Zhukov and others to flee further east to the city of Krasnoyarsk in 1950. There, another Soviet Republic was proclaimed, ruled through the socialist United Popular Patriotic Front. Taking on the role of Premier in the government, Zhukov is assisted by Party Secretary Alexei Kosygin.
1952 opens with Zhukov setting the ground work to not only reunite with Novosibirsk but with Perm and Russia as well.
Before any attempt at unification, Zhukov must first settle internal issues first. The Tuvans have been waging an insurgency against Krasnoyarsk and Zhukov enlists the help of the NKVD secret police and its head, Ivan Serov. The question is though how much power/resources should the NKVD get?:
Giving the NKVD a bare minimum will not go too well (see Collapse section below). Rather, a token increase or vast expansion will see the Tuvans defeated and brought in for peace negotiations. But, a vastly expanded NKVD will have an unforeseen consequence far, far down the line.
With the Tuvan problem solved, Zhukov will next move to the political issue to solve, factionalism. There are two main camps in Krasnoyarsk and can be seen in the Political Faction UI, accessible through the Emblem of the Soviet Union button on the cabinet level of the country tab. They are:

In Webster's two terms in office, he ended the Civil War, and took the country through the first stage of Reconstruction. But now, the Whig Party must once again find a presidential candidate. Many divisions have presented themselves such as slavery, the controversial and failed Treaty of Uppsala (which would've sold Santo Domingo to the Swedish), and the annexation of Texas. While Henry Clay is seen as the most likely to win the nomination, in this convention, it could really go to anyone.
Henry Clay: Representative from Kentucky Henry Clay started off his career in politics as a Burrite, but eventually he left the party and began advocating for the American System, which entails high tariffs, internal improvements, and a National Bank. Clay has served as Speaker of the House and is now an extremely influential Whig leader, now in the Senate. Before the start of the Civil War, Clay was focused on doing whatever he could to maintain the Union, first opposing the deal between Jackson, Webster, and Adams (on the Spanish-American War), because he thought that it wouldn't appease the south, and then coming up with Clay's Ordinance, a more moderate solution to the slavery issue meant to replace Jefferson's Ordinance.
During the war, Henry Clay helped pass Frelinghuysen's Tariff and was reluctant to ally with the British Empire. He was also a critical supporter of the Emancipation Act of 1835, being a strong advocate for gradual emancipation. He supports the Frelinghuysen Tariff. Clay opposed the Treaty of Uppsala because he is a member of the American Colonization Society, an organization with the goal of sending free black people to Africa, but he considered Santo Domingo a more convenient place to send freed slaves than Africa. He strongly supported rebuilding relations with France and opposed the Indian Removal Act. Clay supports the annexation of Texas, but is worried that any attempt to annex the republic will be seen as a sign of aggression by Mexico.
Edward Everett: The former president's preferred successor, Edward Everett served as Secretary of State under Daniel Webster. When the Ortensia Crisis started under Webster, Everett urged President Webster to agree to return t

In most cases, the more highly developed, more educated, more urbanized, and more democratic a society is, the less socially conservative they are, politically and culturally they are. But Japan is one of the most highly developed, highly educated, and highly urbanized nations in the world, and is probably the most democratic country in East Asia and the Western Pacific, along with Australia and New Zealand, and yet they are still a VERY socially conservative society
Japan is way more socially conservative than any highly developed, educated, urbanized, and democratic "Western" society, even those which are less developed, educated, urbanized, and democratic (in some cases much more so).
In Japan -
- There is a heavy amount of traditional social controls
- There is a LOT of racial and ethnic bigotry, generally not violent, but if you aren't "racially Yamato (so to speak)", good luck getting a plurality, likely a majority, of Japanese people to ever accept you as Japanese, even if you live there for fifty years, speak fluent Japanese, adopt Japanese culture, and are a Japanese citizen, law enforcement and authorities will often detain and punish "non-Yamato" people as suspects in a crime and make their determinations in part because of their race/ethnicity and distrust/dislike of "non-Yamato" people (and unlike in the United States, British Commonwealth, Western Europe, ect; there are no big protests against this, or really any sort of mainstream debate or action), and many landlords and business owners flat out refuse to rent or serve "non-Yamato" people
- "The nail that sticks out gets hammered back in", heavy degree of social conformity
- "Feminism" (as it is understood in the West) is practically non-existent; the overwhelming majority of Japanese women prefer to be housewives
- The criminal justice system is very tough, and would match what many would otherwise consider "draconian"; for example, authorities will often detain a person accused of a crime and hold them in detention until they confess to the crime (99% of criminal defendants in Japan plea guilty), the death penalty is enforced for murder and is carried out by hanging (and the process is pretty horrifying; death row inmates are kept in solitary confinement and aren't

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

The United States in the Aftermath:
When Americans woke up in 1919 to a world dominated by the Kaiserreich, some were overjoyed, others dismayed, but most were apathetic. After all it was just another European war, and one that had cost millions of lives at that. After the SS George Washington sinking and Black Tom Explosion, the Entente was forced to open non-war trade to Germany. A multitude of private charities stepped in to help alleviate hunger in the Central Powers, one of the leaders of this movement was a young humanitarian named Herbert Hoover. Hoover led the Commission for Relief in Germany and later the new Belgian state of Flanders-Wallonia. Along with humanitarian aid though, investors began to invest in German industry and companies. This increasing trade with the devastated nation led to an even greater economic boom in the United States as they profited off of their neutrality. While the upper and middle class thrived though, the working class had not forgotten the injustices of the Gilded Age. Prominent socialist journalist Jack Reed left the burning husk of Bolshevik Russia and was there to bear witness to the French Civil War and establishment of the Commune of France. Taken by the comparative efficiency and ability to provide for the people of the CGT's government, compared to what he had seen of the Bolsheviks, he became an ardent syndicalist and on his return from Europe released 10 Weeks That Shook the World, an apparent sequel to his earlier writings on the failed Russian Revolution. It became the definitive English-language account of the French Revolution, and earned Reed great notoriety among American leftists including one βBig Billβ Haywood. Reed would convince Haywood to officially endorse syndicalism, which he did, and it became the official ideology of his newly formed Socialist Party of America (SPA).
President Woodrow Wilson had made true on his campaign pledge to stay out of the war and was known as the βMan Who Kept the Peaceβ by most of the public. Using his popularity and without regard to his health problems, Wilson secured the Democratic Party's nomination for an unthinkable third term. Wilsonβs longtime Vice President, Thomas R. Marshall, refused to be on the ticket as VP again and so the Democrats chose Attorney General Alexander Mitchell Palmer to run with Wilson. Wilsonβs first choice for VP, the ambitious Assistant Secretary of the Navy Franklin D. Roosevelt had succumbed to Guillain-Barre syndrome ea

While the midterms of 1834 changed some of Daniel Webster's plans, his leadership in the Civil War remained unchanged.
The Battle of Horn Island
By the end of 1834, the Union, with British assistance, had surrounded Confederate territory and taken Cuba, but it had not taken New Orleans. Fleet Admiral John Rodgers, Admiral Henry Curzon, and Commodores Isaac Hull and Matthew C. Perry planned to change that.
They launched several offensives aiming to take New Orleans between December 2nd, 1834 and February 13th, 1835 but while all of them made progress in eroding the Confederate position there, they still all failed to take the city.
However, after its defeat at the hands of the British and Unionists, the Confederate Navy were also regrouping and gathered in one large force lead by Commodore Franklin Buchanan. Buchanan and Confederate Secretary of the Navy Clement C. Clay planned to split apart the Union blockade at Mississippi. Buchanan was successful at first, managing to outmaneuver Union forces, getting to Horn Island, an island right to the south of mainland Mississippi.
The Union responded by sending Isaac Hull and Henry Curzon to meet him there on February 20th, thus starting the Battle of Horn Island. While the Union and British navy much outnumbered the Confederate navy, in this battle, the two forces were about equal, as the Union and British still had to maintain their blockade around Confederate territory.
Henry Curzon approached the Confederate fleet first, going south from the coast of Mississippi. His aim was to distract Buchanan's fleet until Hull could arrive from the west. Buchanan, less experienced compared to Hull and Curzon, fell for the ploy and attacked Curzon's forces with all of his might. Here it turned out that Curzon had underestimated the Confederates and suffered many casualties from this first attack.
A later daguerreotype of Commodore Franklin Buchanan
However, Henry Curzon did get his job done and Buchanan was not expecting Hull's approach from the west. When he noticed Hull, Buchanan chose to cont

Lazyfoo is good still, but SDL has added several features since Lazyfoo wrote their tutorials. I see a lot of people writing old SDL code that could be made more succinct with some modern functions, or can otherwise be made faster:
Old way:
https://lazyfoo.net/tutorials/SDL/07_texture_loading_and_rendering/index.php
SDL_Init(SDL_INIT_EVERYTHING);
SDL_Window* window = SDL_CreateWindow("SDL Tutorial", SDL_WINDOWPOS_UNDEFINED, SDL_WINDOWPOS_UNDEFINED, SCREEN_WIDTH, SCREEN_HEIGHT, SDL_WINDOW_SHOWN);
SDL_Renderer* renderer = SDL_CreateRenderer(window, -1, SDL_RENDERER_ACCELERATED);
This is slightly verbose. Since most people these days are using hardware acceleration (and not surfaces), decoupling renderer and window initialization is not useful for most people. Instead, you can simply do this:
SDL_Init(SDL_INIT_EVERYTHING);
SDL_Window* window;
SDL_Renderer* renderer;
SDL_CreateWindowAndRenderer(SCREEN_WIDTH, SCREEN_HEIGHT, SDL_WINDOW_SHOWN, &window, &renderer);
https://wiki.libsdl.org/SDL_CreateWindowAndRenderer
of course, make sure to check the return values of SDL_Init and SDL_CreateWindowAndRenderer to make sure initialization succeeded
Most people draw things using SDL_Rect
for positioning, such as:
https://lazyfoo.net/tutorials/SDL/11_clip_rendering_and_sprite_sheets/index.php
SDL_Rect renderQuad = { x, y, mWidth, mHeight };
SDL_RenderCopy(renderer, mTexture, clip, &renderQuad);
This works fine still, but if you try to implement your own camera system with scaling, then this doesn't really allow for smooth subpixel movement. Additionally, on the backend, SDL usually converts everything to a float
since it's interfacing with OpenGL, DirectX, Vulkan, and Metal. To avoid this cast for every draw call, you can instead use SDL_FRect and it's associated render calls:
// x, y, width, and height are now floats in the entity class
SDL_FRect renderQuad = { x, y, mWidth, mHeight };
SDL_RenderCopyF(renderer, mTexture, clip, &renderQuad);
https://wiki.libsdl.org/SDL_RenderCopyF
This will give you a slight (probably imperceptible) performance increase as floats do not need to be cast many times per frame now. Additionally, it means that you can use floats in your movement and position vectors and not have to cast to integers just to render a

tl;dr: Take what Lue is saying about ultra-terrestrials with a large grain of salt.
--
I will preface this with saying that generally I have a lot of time for Lue Elizondo, for what he seems to be trying to achieve, and I think it's fair to say we wouldn't be where we are right now without the efforts he has been putting in. I don't buy the grift angle, as there are a lot easier ways for someone in his position to make a lot more money than this. I also don't buy the CI op angle either, as to me, the various outcomes including the potential Gillibrand amendment don't jibe with it IMO.
All that said, there still is one red flag I do continue to have, which is his relationship to the Earthtech International group, namely Hal Puthoff & Eric Davis.
They seem just as secretive as all the supposed nefarious groups in the government, and appear to be in the business of creaming off public money & pseudo-science as much as they are in the business of truth-seeking. Also it feels like whatever truth they do seek seems to be entirely for satisfying their own intellectual curiosity over any moral leanings regarding disclosure.
It was with this that I have been having a niggling concern regarding Lue's ever more bold statements, especially those on the Theory of Everything podcast. My primary concern being how much of this is something he has seen first hand, or at the very least something he has been told by someone who is an extremely good authority on the matter, and how much is just Earthtech speculation, or remote viewing woo.
So my interest was piqued when, in searching for an entirely different podcast on Spotify, I happened to have a 2018 interview between Linda Moulton Howe & Eric Davis pop up in my search results. I don't particular care much for either of these characters, but this interview was a blind spot for me, so I thought it might be worth a listen to see how it compares to what he has said elsewhere, and where we are today in general.
I have extracted and transcribed a section of the interview that I considered of interest given where we are at the moment. I have contracted some of the statements, paragraphed what was one long ramble for the ease of reading and punctuated as necessary. I have also highlighted what I think are the most pertinent comments. This comes after Eric has read out an executive summary of the Nimitz incident, so the context here is the tic tac craft, and/or its occupants:

... keep reading on reddit β‘When the Petrel got close enough to Earth-space to start sending messages, things got crazy quickly. First, the entire ship needed to be quarantined to prevent possible contamination from the alien species, and then suitable research facilities needed to be organized to investigate the artifacts. Representatives from every faction had opinions about every aspect. What does it mean to humans that another space-faring species has been found? Who will go recover the wreckage and how? How will first contact with this species be implemented to avoid a similar catastrophe to this one, or worse, biological contamination from humans to the aliens? Accidentally killing one ship is bad, but what if humans accidentally kill off an entire planet? It wasnβt long before a massive research effort and its parallel diplomatic effort were under-way.
The first breakthrough came from Information Specialist Almasi Mwangi herself. On the long journey back to human space, she had successfully identified markers in the recovered data storage media that allowed her to separate recordings of voice and video from other digital data. This meant that some of the alien shipβs logs could be replayed. This was jumped on by linguists who, by comparing the alienβs logs of the encounter with the Petrelβs logs of the encounter were able to construct a sort of Rosetta Stone for the alien language. This in turn led to learning the shipβs name (Dawnflower), the names of the crew, how their communications equipment worked, how their star charts worked, and much, much more. Humans now knew where the rladii-occupied planets were and how to communicate with them. It also caused bureaucrats and intelligence services across the Factions to realize how vulnerable humans were to other aliens capturing a human ship. There were going to have to be some serious redesigns for future deep-space ships.
Another set of breakthroughs came from a team headed up by Danish physician and biologist Mark Ruthgar and his team. The frozen pair brought back were indeed a middle aged male and female (named Gnolder and Nagla, according to the linguists), and the female was pregnant. This gave the biologists an unexpected bonanza of information about anatomy and reproduction, as well as tissues for understanding what dis

Back in September 2019, Michael Burry predicted an index fund bubble. Since I invest index funds and write about them with relish, I was intrigued. But I quickly moved on.
Then another headline caught my eye. It was an episode of Odd Lots podcast titled, βWhy Passive Investing Might Be Distorting the Market.β I immediately listened to the episode, featuring investor and fund manager Mike Green. And then I listened again. Considering a lot of my net worth is currently tied up in index funds, I want to understand why some people think index funds are foolsβ gold.
So today, Iβm going to play devilβs advocate and talk about both sides of the conversation. Is there an index fund bubble? A market crash around the corner? Or is passive investing still the winning strategy itβs always been?
Below, youβll find compelling arguments from investors Mike Green and Michael Burry, who both say there is a bubble. Then Iβll follow up with comments from financial analyst Ben Carlson and portfolio manager Ben Felix, both of whom see no bubble . Itβs #TeamMike vs. #TeamBen. Iβll also pull some soundbites from Raoul Pal, a former hedge fund manager who now produces financial videos with a silky British accent. And then Iβll add in my own thoughts at the end.
An index fund owns a wide assortment of assets (e.g. stocks), and owns those assets in proportion to their market share. Uhβ¦thatβs a lot of FinSpeak. Letβs break it down.
For an example, letβs look at an S&P 500 index fund. An S&P 500 index fund would own all of the stocks in the S&P 500. Since Apple and Microsoft each make up about 5% of the S&P 500, this index fund would be comprised of about 5% Apple and 5% Microsoft. But Chipotle would only compose about 0.08% of the index, because itβs 0.08% of the S&P. In this way, the index fund is benchmarked to the S&P, like a shadow that follows all of the bodyβs movements.
Similarly, a βtotal stock market fundβ would own every stock in the market. There are tons of options in the index fund world.
Letβs get into the arguments that claim indexing is now in a bubble.
One of Mike Greenβs first points on Odd Lots is this: the original idea behind indexing is that active traders and actively managed funds will dictate how the market behaves, a

Episode 1: Leavetaking AssPulling
The show limps out of the gate. A lore-breaking monologue from an ill-casted Moiraine, who apparently doesn't have the education to know that "them" is plural. Compare this to the real opening of the series and try to tell me that this show won't be trash.
After that we get a quick shot of some Reds engaging in the Vileness, right in front of Moiraine, who does nothing about it.
Readers will remember that Reds gentling men on the spot was something that happened in the first few years following the rebirth of the Dragon, and was such a scandal that the ring-leaders were banished from the Tower, the whole thing was covered up, and Cadsuane implies that in her opinion, stillings and executions should have been applied generously. Also, that whole event was orchestrated by the Black Ajah, and by the time the series begins, Ishmael is no longer interested in gentling/killing the Dragon. He wants to capture him and turn him, not kill him.
I'm sure the purpose of this absurd scene is to "inform" the audience that men go insane when they channel, but it doesn't serve that purpose well... at all. I'm pretty sure someone coming in cold would be more confused than illuminated, and the show-runners agree with me on that, because they later have Moiraine spell it out in detail to Egwene anyway. I hope no one has the balls to defend this garbage.
Following this we have an irrelevant Woman's Circle initiation that will never be spoken of again, because it serves no actual purpose to the story other than to make sure that we all know that Rand is absolutely not going to be the main character. Oh, and to tell us that the Women's Circle is full of idiots, because their entrance ceremony involves drowning the initiates...
Finally, we are introduced to Rand. The scene is fine, if you haven't read the books. If you have, it's horrible. No myrddraal, Rand is suddenly lovesick, and Kari al'Thor was a drunk. This won't be the last character assassination. (Also, the Quarry Road's history is erased)
I think now is also a good time to say tha

After gaining a majority in the House by attacking the electoral college, the National Unionists nearly pulled out a majority because of it despite losing the popular vote. Despite gaining a plurality in the popular vote, the Democratic-Republicans failed to gain a majority in the electoral college, the institution they defended so ferociously. The only ones who escaped the embarrassment were the Anti-Masonics, who pulled enough votes to hold the balance of power in both houses of Congress.
President Sergeant's position in office was precarious from the beginning. No party held any congressional majority, and he was at the head of a minority government. He proceeded cautiously with his program, attempting to court the Anti-Masonics by appointing William Henry Harrison to his cabinet and supporting their voting bill that would eliminate property requirements to vote nationwide.
His Secretary of State, Daniel Webster, proved to be an excellent choice. Webster took immediate charge of the administration's intervention in the Mexican Civil War between supporters of the House of Iturbide and supporters of a republican system of government. He sent out offers to both sides for the United States to mediate the conflict to preserve harmony on the continent, proposing to meet at New Orleans in January of 1830.
Sergeant and Webster also navigated a statehood crisis, this time in the form of Maine. The region of Maine, separated from Massachusetts by the sea, sought to become an independent state within the union. Fearing an outbreak of hostilities, the administration organized a referendum that both sides promised to accept the results of. Maine voted, with 57% in favor, to become a state, and was admitted by Congress in December of 1829.
Sergeant's next priority was a reform bill regarding the Bank. He sought to codify, in one single bill, the powers of the Bank. He was willing to accept Monroe's restrictions on it provided that the executive branch have power to withdraw a set amount of funds for use each year. The bill stalled and failed, as the Anti-Masonics wanted to expand the Bank's powers and the Democratic-Republicans wanted to replace it.
Both sides of the Mexican Civil War, represented on the Imperial side by Prime Minister JosΓ© Manuel de Herrera and on the Republican side by General Guadelupe Victoria, sat down at New Orleans with Secretary Webster on January 23, 1830. Negotiations would last for

Now that I listen to albums, I hardly ever leave the house.
The term of Americaβs first ever Populist president has seen no shortage of political strife. Elected via a contentious contingent election despite not even receiving a plurality of electoral votes, President Powderly is viewed as almost illegitimate by Congressional Liberals and Republicans who have made it a mission to oppose his policies. Opposition to the President has centered around the Speaker of the House Frank Hiscock, with support from his Republican ally and Chairman of the House Rules Committee Thomas Brackett Reed. Lambasted as βCzar Hiscockβ by his opponents, he has increased the authority of the Speaker and the majority party far beyond what has been seen in previous administrations.
One of the first orders of business for the new Congress was the resolution of disputed House elections, primarily occurring in the South between Populists and Republicans where allegations of fraud and coercion are rampant. Hiscock organized votes to summarily unseat 15 Populist representatives in favor of their opponents, ensuring that the Liberals and Republicans together held a two-thirds majority in the House to complement that in the Senate. When the Populists attempted to stage a protest by refusing to answer a roll call and thereby deny the House quorum, Hiscock simply ordered them counted as present anyways. The conflict has continued throughout the first two years of Powderlyβs presidency, as Hiscock and his Senate allies have fought to prevent Populist legislation from seeing the light of day and minimizing the Populist opposition to their agenda (though they have refrained from major pieces such as civil rights legislation out of fear of Populist implementation). However, there is growing dissension from within the party as Hiscockβs tactics have brought the country nearly to a halt while the economy appears to be cooling off and a run on the gold reserves of the U.S. Treasury has begun.
Hamstrung by an uncooperative Congress, Powderly has seen his power as President severely limited and has thus been unable to accomplish much of his ambitious agenda. His small victories have come from areas where he can use his executive authority, such as a much more aggressive enforcement of the Interstate Commerce Act to fix excessive railroad rates and combat anti-competitive practices. Furthermore, unions across the country have become emboldened by Powderlyβs election and gone on strike to secure better working conditions. Powderly has refused to deploy the

Howdy fellow apes. I'm from the other tree and the majority of this is written in the perspective of GameStop. But the same exact content applies to AMC. I see tons of FUD over here about ComputerShare and I think it is mostly baseless conjecture. I think it's better to crush this FUD and spread the word.
I am not a financial advisor and I am not providing financial advice.
Guess what baby. I'm not even really a Pomeranian. Mwahaha. I'm a Snek Skeletor! Ah ah ah ah.
Another concern is selling shares which obviously is a key point to p
