A list of puns related to "Texas Legislature"
I'm not in the Texas guard but there have been some concerns with how guard members are being treated down there.
Even if you are not in the Texas guard, we are all apart of this organization and I believe we still have a right to speak out when members are being mistreated. I've laid out the contact information for the committees in the state legislation that may hold some influence over what's happening.
I'm not saying I have first hand accounts of what's going on but if you see or hear something, it doesn't hurt to copy and paste a couple of emails into cc or bcc in Gmail and let them know of the issues and your dissatisfaction with the Texas military departments leadership.
Friendly OPSEC reminder!

GOP legislative leaders 'already working' on Texas-style abortion restrictions in Florida
Teachers in a Texas school district were told last week that a new state law requiring them to present multiple perspectives about βwidely debated and currently controversialβ issues meant they needed to make βopposingβ views on the Holocaust available to students.
NBC News obtained an audio recording of the official, Gina Peddy, the Carroll Independent School Districtβs executive director of curriculum and instruction, speaking to the teachers about how to work under the constraints of the new law, known as House Bill 3979. The law was passed amidΒ a wave of efforts in Republican-led statehousesΒ to prevent βcritical race theory,β βdivisiveβ topics and concepts related to race and bias from being taught to children.
βJust try to remember the concepts of 3979,β Peddy said in the recording. βMake sure that if, if you have a book on the Holocaust that you have one that has an opposing β that has other perspectives.β
Can't wait for the bad faith condemnation of this from people like Ben Shapiro and Bari Weiss, who are directly responsible for asinine state laws like this being passed by hyping the CRT nonsense.
Also, where are all the rest of the "free speech" frauds on the passage of laws that allow ideologues in state legislatures to micromanage what teachers say to students about established historical facts and that threaten said teachers with the loss of their jobs for running afoul of dishonest online political pundits?
The abortion ban is going into effect at midnight in Texas. Complete bullshit. Solidarity for women everywhere.
Edit: also, solidarity to others who can get pregnant.
So tomorrow Texas will effectively ban abortion after the detection of a fetal "heartbeat" (apparently a heart isn't the appropriate term for the developing organ at the time frame from when it can be first detected?) It seems like me this will effectively ban all abortions in Texas. In addition to that apparently the state isn't going to be the one that will enforce the banning of abortions. It seems like anyone who isn't employed by the state can bring a civil suit towards a physician who performs abortions within Texas.
Sec. 171.205 for wording on fetal heartbeat
Sec. 171.208 for wording on who can bring a suit forward.
