A list of puns related to "Plug Nozzle"
And i scanned for codes, no codes came up and no misfire present .
I don't know if this will get me kicked out of the group, but I'll still like to post it (only once. Promise!)
On Kickstarter, there is a project for a Nozzle Removal Tool: https://www.kickstarter..../nozzle-removal-tool...
I have backed the project, because I like the idea of having a tool specially designed for this, without having to search for the usual tools which will be somewhere in the house, but not near my printer. This tool cannot be used for something else (like a wrench and ratchet) so will be always there where I expect it to be.
Currently, the projections of the campaign are not looking positive, which is a pity, in my opinion. Thus I try to push it (once) here, maybe the pace will change and he makes it to his goal...
But, I have heated up the nozzle to 230 in attempt at removing the nozzle to replace it! But the nozzle got stripped since it would even turn! Please help!!!!!
By removing the central Merlin 1D and adding a truncated cone, the F9 1.1 first stage could be converted to a sort-of-plug-nozzle configuration (a plug nozzle is a truncated annular aerospike). With the greater high-altitude efficiency, the F9r 1.1 first stage could be used as an SSTO for very small payloads, reducing the cost significantly by not needing to refurb the second and third stages. While the thrust of the central engine will be lost, there might be some minor weight saving by no longer having to have a beefy thrust structure for the central engine.
Have SpaceX mentioned a desire to use the reuseable first stage alone as an SSTO launcher to take over the small launch role the Falcon 1 served?
