A list of puns related to "Playable Characters"
I've seen the player numbers on Steam - almost back up to launch day levels. All because I gave you a big titty waifu. I see how it is.
I give you people the sexiest character I've ever had the pride to create, then I give you Sol's wife with lots of ass (Twitter blew up, sure, but fuck Twitter), and then I gave you a blue lizard man with a glock because bullet go pew pew. But no. It takes BAIKEN to get people playing again.
You want a big titty waifu? I'll give you a big titty waifu! DLC 5 will be Erica Bartholomew with breast implants.
BOOM she'll be packing cake AND massive honkers, and if this actually works I will murder someone. Preferably Mori Toshimichi, but, more likely the asshole who changed Chaos's scope and Steady Aim while I wasn't looking.
For me, Iβd say Itto, after doing his story quest It really feels like the blue oni is sasuke and Itto is Naruto.
There are still a few missing weapon-element combinations that I'm curious about, like hydro claymore users, cryo catalyst, etc. I love hydro and would love to see more non-healers of that element.
I want to see more characters who are useful for exploration. Maybe a character like Sayu but who can roll up cliffs, or someone who can climb quicker.
More crossover characters: Kratos from God of War, Link or Zelda, 2B from NieR, Fire Emblem characters, Demon Slayer...
Exactly like the title says.
Personal choice? Chongyunβs Positivity Overload. When he gets too βheatedβ (figuratively and literally), he acts like a raging drunk. Iβm honestly surprised no one makes jokes about that.
An Argument for the Possibility of Non-Vision Element Users
Now I know what you're thinking: "But OP, wouldn't it be terribly boring if a character wouldn't be able to apply elemental damage, proc reactions, or use these cool magical abilities?"
Honestly, I don't think so. Having a character without a magic-fuelling accessory wouldn't necessitate them being unable to use any kind of elemental abilities whatsoever. In fact, I think that a character without a Vision or the like would open up a lot of interesting design opportunities for MiHoYo.
This opportunity shows itself when we take a look at some of the human NPC's in Genshin. For the sake of argument, let's ignore the Fatui for now as it is possible that the Anemoboxers, Cicin Mages etc. all possess Delusions (as they are essentially fabricated Visions). But even ignoring the Fatui, there are plenty of human enemies that manipulate the elements.
Take the Treasure Hoarder Cryo Potioneer, for example. Or the Kairagi: Dancing Thunder. The sheer number of enemies of these types that we canonically encounter that are unlikely to have ties to the Fatui or possess a Vision, would lead to the logical conclusion that it is indeed possible to manipulate the elements even if one does not have a magic-fuelling accessory.
This is even more supported when we take a look at something like the Hot Pod bombs from the Midsummer Island Event. They are craftable from the Alchemist's Bench; a tool which canonically non-Vision users are able to use (Ying'er and Timaeus are examples). When thrown, they deal a small amount of Pyro DMG over a small AoE and apply Pyro to affected enemies.
This suggests that indeed, it is possible for non-Vision characters to use elemental abilities through the usage of either technology or alchemy.
Character Possibilities
If we accept the above, a world of possibilities opens itself up to us.
For instance, I imagine an alchemy-loving character similar to Albedo and Sucrose, with a similar dislike of the Archons as Keqing. Their goal is to harness the power of a Vision without actually obtaining a Vision, aiming to do so by crafting a variety of bombs they use in battle. They could use a Catalyst with their normal attacks dealing AoE Physical Damage. Then, for their E, they could throw one of four elemental bombs (decided at random) dealing elemental energy of that type. And for their Q, they could do something that no cha

In Dishonored 2's opening, you get to see how Corvo's powers look to people without the mark, and Stop Time is as broken as you'd expect. He likely would have singlehandedly ended the coup if he wasn't going against an unkillable witch.
In the Far Cry 6 Vaas DLC, you get to see how Jason looks from Vaas' perspective during his "death". Granted Vaas is insane so its hard to say how true to life his perspective is, but considering Jason was drugged during the sequence, a major theme of Far Cry 3 is Jason being a sociopath, and it matches Jason's perspective pretty closely, it probably isn't that far from the truth.
There's also when you fight Dante in DMC 4 and 5's DLC, and you realize how terrifying it is fighting against Wacky Woohoo Pizza Man with a move-set as large as his.
Ellin the Wannabe Knight, she said she gonna try to destroy the dummies using our technique, so she can use all burst from the character that you have.
i.e, in previous games:
In Oblivion you start in a cell at the Imperial City Prison. The main "conflict" already started when you leave the cell, and you escape to save Cyrodil.
In Fallout 3 you are born in Washington, transitioning to a teenager living in shelter 1010. You customize your character in a monitor/tv. As an adult you leave 101 and the bombs felt years ago
In Fallout 4 you live in a pretty house with your family, everything is like a dream. You create your character in the bathroom, and the main tragedy happens right after that.
In Skyrim Imperials are going to execute you because they think you are allied with Stormcloaks. The war already started and Alduin was already free.
In Starfield....
For me, Id say maybe Itto, Diluc or Noelle. Noelle is stupid strong physically, so she must have alot of muscle right?
I had a dream last night where players play as the travelers and enter Windtrace with different playable characters as hunters. Some characters play for fun, like Diluc and Hu Tao. But Ayaka...holy shit. It turned into a nightmare fast.
I was playing as Aether. When the round started, she was sitting inside a house. There were white statues all across the map and if you ran near them, they would crumble into black dust and that was when the hunter was released. Initially I planned to just run around a tree so she couldn't see me, but she pulled out a crossbow from nowhere and started shooting from afar. We ran in circles around the map and I've never spammed sprint so fast. Each time Ayaka got closer, there was a jumpscare sound similar to slenderman. As her face peered over, I heard buzzing flies getting increasingly louder. In the end, I tried to wake myself up cuz this ain't it.
I think the memes got into my head a little too much.
As for males, I think the consensus is that Fatui Hammer bro or the blacksmith is the new male body type we want to see.
I personally think the Mirror Maiden would be nice, get a little thiccness for the player characters.
I choose Athena, Krieg, Wilhelm, and Moze.
I'm not talking about extreme admiration like Keqing and Kujou Sara.
We almost had one but >!she turned to ash!<.
I understand all of playable character in gacha game should love the MC. But the MC doesn't have to be the only one they love right? They could have platonic love with the MC but can also romantically in love with someone else.
In my headcanon, one of the Harbinger's reason to join the Fatui is because he's in love with the Tsaritsa. Despite knowing he's just a mere weapon and what he did is immoral and evil.
Edit: I shouldn't have said "all of playable character in gacha game should love the MC". I'm just trying to say they show affection towards the MC (at least in teapot & birthday lines). Not saying those are proof of romantic feelings. Affection are not always romance after all. But they do like the MC. This somehow shifted the point of this post.
What I want is a playable character that is canonically in profound relationship or are romantically in love with someone or had past lover or even have one-sided love/crush. I want the MC as the spectator of their love. Not someone who received the love.
I've seen this sentiment a lot and I was wondering how the community feels about it. I've made a poll to gauge reactions (results hidden for 2 days).

My take is this:
I don't like it. At least not for the core game. It's not even that I want Link specifically or don't want Zelda, I just don't like what this change implies. To me, The Legend of Zelda has had a mute protagonist that is basically a blank slate. Any deviation from that is putting importance into who the character is, and that's what I don't like. He's just a conduit (or a link... I think that's where the name came from, no?) for the player.
I think putting a voiced character as a playable character is contrary to the core of the series. It's a series that continuously reinvents itself, but it was kept some core elements. To me, one of those elements is an unvoiced protagonist.
A happy medium would be to have Zelda play like MJ in Spiderman or Peach in Paper Mario. Separate, minor segments that just work as a small add on to the game. I would also be happy if she is there as a co-op option(perhaps DLC), as long as the game is implemented and designed with single player Link as the base*. And the worst case scenario in my mind is if Zelda is a follower that you can take control over, particularly to solve some puzzles. Kind of like Luigi/Gooigi.
Given the final chapter of the Lost Lab Mythos >!makes Mayu a playable character,!< what could this mean for the future of the game? As far as I can recall, this is the first instance of an NPC being promoted to playable status. There are several other characters in the game fans had been hoping would become obtainable for a while, and it feels like this is opening the door to that possibility.
For me, it would be Byakuya Kuchiki, would be something else to see his bankai being unleased as an elemental attack
I always thought it'd be cool if the characters could be idle or doing something in a place where you'd normally expect them to be and be able interact with them like you would in the Serenitea Pot, and I also got reminded by it during this event. I came up with some places that they could stay in the daytime. Some of these places would have to become enterable because they currently aren't.
Places they'd likely be in:
Albedo - Laboratory in Dragonspine
Itto - Playing with kids in Hanamizaka, or inside the Tenryou police station (at night)
Barbara - Inside the Favonius Church
Beidou - On the Crux
Bennett - In the wild somewhere (maybe it can alternate between different places in Mondstadt everyday)
Diluc - Dawn Winery or Angel's Share
Diona - Cat's Tail
Ganyu - Inside the Yiyan Temple or Mt. Aocang
Gorou - Fort Fujitou or Bourou Village
Hu Tao - Inside Wangsheng Funeral Parlor
Jean - Jean's office inside Favonius Headquarters
Kaeya - Upstairs room in Favonius Headquarters or Angel's Share
Akaya - Inside Kamisato Estate or Komore Teahouse
Klee - Her timeout room in the headquarters or next to Jean (not too unsure)
Sara - Tenryou Commission Headquarters or Kujou Encampment
Lisa - Front desk in the library at the Favonius Headquarters
Mona - [SPOILER!] The place she rents in Mondstadt (after doing her story quest obviously)
Ningguang - Her office in the Jade Chamber if she doesn't drop it again (unsure if she does)
Noelle - Training with Ellin next to the Favonius Headquarters
Qiqi - Bubu Pharmacy
Raiden - Her domain (after completing story quest) or somewhere else in the Tenshukaku complex
Razor - Wolvendom (preferably not next to Andrius)
Rosaria - On top of Favonius Church looking down at Mondstadt (only at night)
Kokomi - Inside Sangonomiya Shrine house
Sayu - Resting somewhere in the Chunju Forest
Thoma - Outside Kamisato Estate or Komore Teahouse
Xiangling - Wanmin Restaurant or collecting ingredients somewhere
Xingqiu - Inside Liuli Pavillion or checking out the Wanwen Bookhouse
Yae Miko - Narukami Shrine
Yoimiya - Inside (or outside) her house in Hanamizaka or playing with kids/Itto
Yunjin - Performing somewhere in Liyue Harbor (occasionally)
Zhongli - Pearl Galley or sitting somewhere in Liyue Harbor (can alternate like Bennett)
Unsure: (either I don't know the lore, or they don't mention a clear place they can stay in)
Aloy - No idea, but maybe could be in the wild like Bennett
Amber - No idea where the O
