A list of puns related to "Phototoxic"
I've currently got into the idea of making my own perfume. I love lemony, citrus scents but wouldn't want to put citrus fruit essential oils in a perfume because of the phototoxicity. What are safe alternatives to use that would still give a citrusy scent?
Actually a couple days ago. I guess you can figure it out from the title.
Toward the end of yesterday I noticed I had this pretty large, dumb-looking blotchy burn on my chest/neck. This morning I woke up and it was worse. I thought, "That's so weird, I was out in the sun on Wednesday, but the shape of this sunburn really doesn't make any sense."
Anyway, then I remembered I'd used a bergamot oil/citrus oil blend as perfume the other day. Went to read the label. The label says not to put it on your skin and that it "reacts strongly to sunlight and other sources of ultraviolet light."
I looked this up online and found some distressing images of second and third-degree burns caused by this same kind of thing. Luckily mine is only first-degree. So it'll just hurt and look weird for a few weeks, nothing serious.
TL;DR: Citrus oils + sunlight = burns. Also, read the damn label before you put chemicals on yourself.
Paulaβs Choice ingredient dictionary lists Grapefruit Oil, Grapefruit Peel Extract, and Grapefruit Seed Extract as POOR on her rating scale due to it possibly being sensitizing and phototoxic. Eek! Has anyone had any adverse reaction to this serum? The phototoxic possibility is worrying as I like to use Vitamin C serums in conjunction with my sunscreen for its antioxidant effects.
I know YMMV, but any thoughts on your experiences with this product? Also, the label just says βgrapefruitβ does anyone know exactly what that means? Juice? Seeds? Peel?
OK, for you fellow SCA'ers with super-sensitive lips, I'm trying to compile the ultimate SPF Lip Balm List.
###Super-sensitive Requirements
I was getting these awesome recommendations from SCA'ers here, and then I started reading about essentail oils & phototoxicity, & found this article. Hence, requirement #4.
But, I am still including a list of lip balms with essential oils, just in case the research doesn't pan out, or the amounts included are really small. Personally, I'd prefer to avoid photo-sensitizing essential oils in SPF lip balm. Also, limonene seems to be very common in these lip balms... here is a paper on limonene - as it oxidizes, it can produce compounds that are contact allergens. OK. Onward!
###Physical SPF Lip balms that fulfill all Super-sensitive Requirements above

... keep reading on reddit β‘I've been corresponding with a CS representative from Skin Actives to ask the origin of the citrus extracts and essential oils in their Vitamin C Serum with Ascorbic Acid (L). While she claimed that the lemon and orange extract in the LAA powder are of non-sensitizing nature, the citrus EOs in the serum base are.
However, she spoke to Dr. Hannah Sivak (the formulator) about it and she did say they are going to take the EOs out on the next batch.
"Hello,
The essential oil part is actually sensitizing. I spoke to Dr. Sivak about this and she said that we can actually take that out of the serum now. We don't currently have any made, but we will be making this change for the next batch we make. Did you want to wait for us to make that and order the serum then?"
I'm not sure if Active Formulas just get the recipe or they get the skincare base and ingredients from Skin Actives, but let's hope that the citrus EOs will disappear from the AF's version as well.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
The nurse asked the rabbit, βwhat is your blood type?β
βI am probably a type Oβ said the rabbit.
The doctor says it terminal.
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC

We told her she can lean on us for support. Although, we are going to have to change her driver's license, her height is going down by a foot. I don't want to go too far out on a limb here but it better not be a hack job.
How diligently should I try to avoid natural fragrant oils such as limonene, citrus peel oils, etc.? I often come across otherwise good formulas that seem to be ruined by the adding of natural fragrances. Do fragrant citrus oils actually cause increased photosensitivity/ sun damage? I don't want to be purchasing products that could be damaging my skin in the long term.
I am having a hard time finding a solid fragrance-free moisturizer, as well as a Vitamin C serum minus natural fragrances. Any insight and/ or product suggestions would be appreciated!
Ants donβt even have the concept fathers, let alone a good dad joke. Keep r/ants out of my r/dadjokes.
But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.

I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
