A list of puns related to "Philatelic"
Hello! Is Emirates Philatelic Association's museum open today? Website info tells it is open, but phone number is not working to call and ask.
UPD: they replied to my email very fast, they are open โ
Dear Mikhail,
Thank you for your email.
Yes, are open today.
Best regards
EPA Team
Is anyone aware of a site online where we can post/upload old magazine or newsletter issues? I have a number of things I can PDF and share.
Various newsletters and magazines go for $10 a piece on eBay, and I'm hesitant to put them up for sale if there is a one-stop-shop for people to find them for free.
I'm new to philately and kind of curious about how philatelic literature gets distributed. It seems extremely rare compared to stamps -- some of the books in the APS library system are not in university libraries, and the self-printed journals are impossible to find anywhere. How often do stamp collectors build philatelic libraries? Is it the sort of thing you can find often at estate sales or conventions? Should I be buying expensive used copies from Abebooks, or should I just wait around for someone to dump a collection and snap it up?
How many people here belong to a Philatelic Society?
I've tried publishers' sites, some philatelic dealers, and searched for electronic versions but had no luck. Specifically I'm looking for ้ต่ถฃ from Japan and ไธๆตท้้ฎ from China, but am interested in any Chinese or Japanese language material. Can anyone help? If you don't have them, maybe a collector from one of those countries would like to swap their old issues for some Australian postage instead of just putting them in the recycling bin.
Thanks, xie xie and arigatou.
Hey everyone, it's been a while since I bumped the philatelic/stamp collectors discord server.
Since I last posted many months ago we've gained over a 150 members and have a large and active community! Anyone of any age or background is welcome to join
There are channels to share your collections, expertise or ask for help identifying stamps! We've had some weekly talks in the past and are looking to do more in the future!
Personally I collect Scandinavia stamps and I've won Awards for my exhibition on Classical Swedish stamps from 1855-1911
If you'd like to join, here's the link!
It'd be great if you could fill out a short bio, so I can assign you roles based on what country you collect!
To register for this event:
I have a bunch of mint Canadian stamps, & would like to create some Canadian philatelic covers. My proposal is to mail them to somebody -- maybe a philatelic society -- in Canada inside a larger American-stamped envelope. Then, once in Canada, they can open said American envelope and mail the smaller envelope with Canadian stamps back to me.
This is so simple, there's no way I'm the first person to ever think of this, right? Am I describing a known practice that I just don't know the name of or did I just come up with something new?
