some of the spaces when you're on the inside of the ring in Infinite and classic halo games really makes me feel like they aren't spaces you're necessarily meant to be in. Like you're in a giant machine. Places shrouded in mystery and ambiguity, bus also having a sense of wonder and sacredness. Overall I've just always loved the large-scale and complex yet simple architecture of the forerunner structures, and compared to 4 and 5's rendition, the classic forerunner design is brilliant and never needed to be changed so drastically like it had before. It reminds me of the ancient wonders of our own world, which I'm sure the inspiration was drawn from, megalithic structures composed of giant stones that have stood tall for thousands of years. Some structures being an anomaly, baffling researches and scientists, much like the forerunner technology still impresses the space-faring civilizations in Halo.
I'm glad we can finally see the real forerunner style in a modern rendition, it looks great. Is there any reason besides 'modernizing' that Halo 4 and 5's forerunner stuff looked the way it did? Very generic to me. Are there any comics or other media that had that look?
