We are raising money for the Shree Mangal Dvip (SMD) Boarding School in Nepal in honor and memory of Tom Schlegel. Their mission, per their website, is "to preserve the culture, language and Buddhist way of life of the Himalayas, and to give Himalayan Children the tools to build a better future, so they can help their own people when they grow up.” They rely on donations to support their students, and Lisa and Tom have sponsored the educations of 3 children to date.

First, the prizes. We are featuring several exciting pieces that you can enter to win for only $5--while we will have everyone donate directly, upon proof of donation, you will receive one entry into the drawing for these pieces per $5 donated. Q: Can I make/do X with RPG Maker?
A: Yes... probably. It really depends on what you are trying to do - chances are, you bought or are considering RPG Maker because you want to make an RPG. RPG Maker excels at making a specific type of game: those resembling old school turn-based RPGs like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. You can break the mold with stuff like Zelda-like action-RPGs or even 3D, which is possible through the use of plugins. Just keep in mind you'll be fighting the engine every step of the way, which will require a lot more work than the "intended" types of games. If you can code (JavaScript for MV/MZ, Ruby for Ace), you can make pretty much anything you want.
Q: Which maker version should I get?
A: Short answer: Just get MV.
Long answer: The newest version you're willing to pay for, but don't fret if you can't afford the newest version. Many people are still using older versions!
MZ is the newest version and many developers will be shifting focus to it, but many feel it's only a small improvement over MV. The next best would be MV, for multi-platform and existing community support. VX Ace and XP are very good too. Just don't get VX! VX Ace is VX, but better in every way.
Q: I still can't decide!
A: There are free trials: https://www.rpgmakerweb.com/free-trials. By the time a trial expires, another sale will have likely started.
Q: Is the Maker Series bundle worth getting?
A: Only if you want SAKAN/MADO/GENE (not exactly necessary, check the store pages for yourself to see) and Visual Novel Maker (which is its own engine).

A: Yes! The historical low now is $11.99 (-85%).
