A list of puns related to "Okanagan Lake"
Found near Lakeshore and Powell around 9pm (June 28). Will leave at the RCMP office tomorrow morning. Hope this gets shared to find the owner
This subject has always been a yes or no answer? What Iβm finding is that Okanagan Lake did once contain Sturgeon but when the tributary near Okanagan was dammed it blocked any route for the sturgeon to get back in. A local guy with a sailing boat told me they do exist in Okanagan but then a local fishermen said they do not. So does anyone really know if Sturgeon are in Okanagan lake?
Btw the reason Iβm asking here is because if you search up βsturgeon Okanagan Lakeβ. You just get Ogopogo stories or some unrelated catch in another river/lake in B.C.
Edit: Some more interesting stuff is that the guy who caught the sturgeon in Kamloops believes there in Okanagan as well and sturgeon make up a lot of the βlake monsterβ sightings.
Conclusion edit: They probably do exist in the lake but in such a low population in such a deep massive lake itβs nearly impossible to find anything about them.
In 1958 when the bridge was built the construction workers saw large sturgeon which means they existed in the lake in the 60s. Then the dam was built which extremely limited sturgeon migration and spawning cutting them off from the lake but since sturgeon have extremely long life spans a few might still be in the lake but once again in a very low volume. Makes me wonder if any exist in the lakes surrounding Okanagan as well since there connected to Okanagan.
This is a very curios mystery.
Hi guys,
My boat is safely dryland stored nor do I have any reason to go boating in the winter. But for discussions sake:
Are there winter boating rules? I see boats and barges just floating around all year. Any government regulations or policies in regards to this? Could someone just winter in the middle of the lake on a boat if they wanted?
