A list of puns related to "Oily Skin"
Usage time : 7 days
Routine : AM : missha fte - klairs supple prep - diy vitamin c +HA - Benton snail essence - minimalist ceramide moisturizer - p20 Sunscreen. PM : missha fte - missha time revolution serum - rovectin treatment lotion - tret 0.4 micro - Benton snail essence - minimalist ceramide moisturizer - LRP lipikar balm ap+m
Background : i switched from 0.025 to 0.04 tret since November last year. I use some ceramide stuff (dr.jart ceramidin liquid, ampleN ceramide shot, illiyoon moisturizer, bioderma atoderm baume) and they have helped immensely during the transition. The products i used never stung my skin and my skin did not feel raw and sensitive when a towel is swiped across my face. No visible peeling or flakes either. Skin felt normal and healthy. Cut to January, I got sick and had no energy for skincare. Took a break from skincare since the beginning of January. I was doing the bare minimum of washing my face once a day. My skin was fine, got slightly congested by the end of two weeks, but otherwise it was doing alright.
Experience : Got a 200 off coupon during the Minimalist giveaway and I figured it was a good time as any to try out the moisturizer. Placed order 10th Jan and received it on 16th. TEXTURE is a gel cream, not oily and absorbed into skin very fast. Did not leave any residue and absorbed fully. It stung my eyelids and nose and sides of mouth on first application. Wasn't too bad, a mild 5 second sting. Was gone by the time I finished application. I ignored it and moved on with the rest of the routine. I wanted to not to use any other ceramide products to gauge the efficiency of this moisturizer. The stinging never went away and it got progressively worse. By the third day, I was not able to wash my face with my normal cleanser (bioderma sebium) and had to use a super gentle cleanser. At this point, wiping my face with a towel hurt slightly if I went a little too hard with the wiping. My sunscreen stung my skin and so did the missha FTE and the rovectin lotion. I couldn't use the vitamin c without serious stinging and had to cut out the vitamin c form my routine completely. Cut out all the stinging products, replaced it with the round lab toner (which did not sting) and soldiered on with the moisturizer. Added the bioderma atoderm baume on eyelids nose and mouth. Day 5 and no improvement. Skin got worse and it was now peeling and i had red raw skin around my nose and mouth and eyes. Cut out tret as well and stuck to a ba

If you're a person with similar skin type and have used niacinamide, please share your experience? Did it break you out? How effective it is for acne scars?
Iβve been using the Shiseido Urban Environment UV Protector for years now and I love it for itβs oil controlling properties. I always go back to it because I havenβt found anything better. I do wanna try more brands though, any suggestions?
Also - preferably something with NO ALCOHOL, my skin gets a little pink/greasy with it
Thanks!
Is there such a thing? Hope there is π
I'm looking for gel moisturiser recommendations! My skin is oily and has seemingly exploded with closed comedones as of late. I've read that gel moisturisers are better for my skin type, so looking for any good suggestions that are nice and moisturising. Preferably fragrance-free but not a dealbreaker. Thanks in advance :)
Update: I ordered the Inkey List Omega Water Cream, thanks to heirsandgraces for suggesting it!
Super bummed that so far, my first trimester has brought me acne worse than when I was an actual teenager! I am bumming hard, you guys, so, so hard. And my skin - I have had normal-to-dry skin since forever, including through adolescence, and now I have oily skin. In one fell swoop, this pregnancy has completely destroyed all my understanding of my skin.
RIP my usual skincare routine :(
Hi Iβve been struggling with identifying my skin type for ages now!! I did the face wash test (u wash ur face and see how it feels after 30 mins with no products) and my skin felt tight and dry. But during the day my skin gets really oily and my pores become sooooo visible. Anyways, Iβve used all cleaners for all skin types and none of them work. I used the cerave face wash for normal to dry skin but it makes my skin oily? And iβve also used a la roche posay cleanser for oily skin but it made my skin so dry!!! (Also Iβve used cleansers for normal and combination skin and they basically do the same). Please can someone help because i have no idea what to do and the internet isnt helping!!!!
I'm currently having my old, botched brows removed with picosur. I have combo/oily skin and would like a natural look. My artist says the powder Ombre brows is suitable for my oily skin but not microblading. I'm speaking to another artist that has a boldbrow/microblading shading look on their page. It looks like microblading with Ombre in between. I don't know who to listen to or what to trust. I've been dealing with my botched brows for 7 years and only recently decided to get them removed and redone. I want to make sure I do it right this time.
Thanks everyone. I'll stick to Ombre.
On. The problem is if I donβt put on moisturizer after a shower I have dry flakes. Sometimes even if I donβt shower a night I get dry flakes. I do live in the midwest(so it is fluctuating days of 20 degree to 40 degrees) anyways just wondering what would be most effective way to repair face barrier and how long it would take? Also I do have acne so some products I use are for that. Current routine AM-No Wash(Nothing) PM- Cerave Hydrating Cleanser 4 times a week, Vanicream Hyalorinc Acid/Ceramides Facial Moisturizer Everyday, Panoxyl 4% wash 2-3 times a week, Differin 3 times a week.
Anyone have any really good product recommendations for acne/pimples/oily skin? I have tried or am trying so many different products but haven't found any that noticeably helped my pimples a significant amount.
Some products I have tried in the past or currently use - please let me know if I should try any of these again too
Inkey List Salicylic acid cleanser - currently use this daily, think it's alright
Tatcha deep clean cleanser - personally this didn't do anything noticeable for me but may try again since it has such good reviews
Murad acne cleanser
Tatcha water cream
Tarte H20 moisturizer - currently use this, don't like it...feel like its making my acne worse?
Murad invisiscar - currently use this
Murad mattifying moisturizer
Murad salicylic acid treatment - currently use this

24 M; Skin classification: Oil rig in summers, combination in winters; Climate: Hot and Humid AF
Okay, a bit of backstory. Went on a trip to the himalayas this summer and my dumbass thought that I would not need sunscreen as it is super cold. Suffered a horrible tan on that trip. After I returned back, I did some basic google research and understood the importance of sunscreen and skincare. Got some "bestsellers" on Amazon and had terrible experience. Mind you my skin can get greasy just by applying moisturizer, so applying sunscreen was hell for me. I have tried several sunscreens recommended in this sub and here's my experience. I have tried every one of them for at least 1 month before posting this review.
I bought this as the description of the product said "Ultra light". This couldn't be far from the truth. The sunscreen is thick, feels super heavy, leaves a slight white cast, takes time to blend in, and stings like a bitch. I literally had to wash it off my face after it came in contact with my eyes. I can't even think of reapplying it. One of the worst sunscreens for oily skin. It can work if you have dry skin and live in a relatively cold region. I'm now trying to finish it off in winter. 1/5 WNRP
Bought it as soon as it was introduced. I've got to say, it's a very decent sunscreen. It does take some time to blend in, does not leave a white cast, and is relatively cost-effective. Might be heavy for summers, yet to try that. I went on a trip and used this outdoors without any problem. It did pill after reapplication once initially for me but did not face it after that. It is my go-to outdoor sunscreen currently. Also, I was concerned about the retinol in this one but I guess there is no problem as I did not experience any adverse effects due to that. It is not water-resistant and can come off if you sweat a lot though 3.5/5 WRP
Got this at an airport pharmacy as I forgot to pack my sunscreen while traveling. I went through the ingredients before using it and was very impressed. I had new filters like Uvinul and Tinsorb and I had high expectations for this one. It spreads easily, has no white cast, leaves a dewy finish, and
... keep reading on reddit β‘i just restarted tazorac .1% cream after using paulas choice .3% retinol and bakuchiol for about a month with no problems, but now, my neutrogena hydroboost water gel with HA (my all time favorite moisturizer) stings my face real bad and itβs making me so depressed sigh
the stinging subsides pretty much as soon as i apply glossierβs super pure (niacinamide and zinc) but id like to not irritate my face when itβs going thru a powerful retinoid treatment .
any recs appreciated!
for context my retinoid routine is as follows:
Looking for a middle ground between heavy and gel (currently using khiels ultra facial cream and versed dew point). Skin is quite sensitive and had a reaction to cerave PM lotion. If anyone has any good no-frills recommendations please comment them, it'd be greatly appreciated.
My cheeks have become ultra red and sensitive after using too many actives. I have been trying (desperately) to find a product that helps my acne (and doesn't destroy my skin) but so far, no luck.
I have used:
- Liquid Gold, Avene Tolerance Extreme Cream, Vanicream, Sebamed, Rose Hip Oil, Cetaphil, Cerave, Neutrogena Hydro Boost, and a few others. All have either broken me out or I saw no improvement in redness. I am very careful to not get any of my current actives on my cheeks.
Does anyone have suggestions for products that may help? (most TO products have broken me out, FYI)
The following are on my list to try:
- LRP Cicaplast, Krave GBR, Elta MD Skin Recovery Serum
Thanks in advance for any help!
I have extremely oily skin. I never wear makeup because it usually just falls off my face, no matter the primer or products I use. Haven't dealt with full on acne in years. However, once I turned 30 I noticed a lot of texture and bumps that kind of look like acne. I try to keep my skincare minimal, so I'm currently just looking for an appropriate sunscreen that won't clog my pores and make my skin even more oily. I've tried cerave's tinted sunscreen because I love their foaming cleanser but it was way too oily for my skin... I'd appreciate any advice!
Some insight into my routine:
Morning - CeraVe foaming gentle cleanser, TO glycolic acid toner (2x a week), currently looking for a sunscreen
Evening - CeraVe foaming gentle cleanser, currently looking for a moisturizer
Edit: thank you all so much for the recommendations!
has anyone tried kosas or fenty concealers?
I donβt use any sunscreen (I know I know) and my skin is so sensitive that anything I put on it, it breaks out. I know I need a sunscreen so Iβm open to suggestions
I only see lightweight moisturizers recommended for oily skin but none make me feel really hydrated. If you have seen how actually nice boroline feels on skin, then that's exactly what I want! Please suggest something similar, and lemme know if that worked for you and didn't cause any zits.
I have a very oily forehead/nose/chin and dry cheeks. I have recently decided to change my current routine and switch it with this:
Am I missing anything? Should I be adding in a serum? Let me know!
