A list of puns related to "Ogallala Aquifer"
We are presented with a major opportunity right now that can solve a major problem: Water in the west.Β The Keystone pipeline wasΒ canceled, but not after creating thousands of miles of pipeline for oil. This petition is to get The House, The Senate and The President of the United StatesΒ to work together to pay TC energy (the company who was going to build the pipeline) to create water pipelines that run from the Mighty Mississippi River toΒ states like Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, and Utah. These states are in desperate need of more water.
This pipeline would provide water for crops, creating less dependence on the Ogallala Aquifer.Β With rapid population growth in states such as Colorado and Utah this would provide much needed water to help sustain that growth.Β This would also have cascading effects to other states such as Arizona, Nevada, and California. Right now Colorado uses a lot of water from the Colorado River. If Colorado lessened its dependency on the Colorado River and let more water go down it would produce more water and electricity for the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and southern California.
This pipeline would be relatively easy to install. We could plan the pipeline route to follow I-70 or I-80 giving supply of materials quick and easy access to the job site. This would create thousands of jobs.

''The implications of desertification are far more serious than the loss of stellar canoe trails. The Sandhills region recharges the Ogallala Aquifer, the largest natural underground reservoir in the United States. In fact, the thickest area of the aquifer underlies the Sandhills because of that recharge effect. At stake is the water supply for hundreds of cities and thousands of farms in the nation's most productive land for livestock, corn, wheat, and soybeans. ''

There are few definitive statements Mr. Paulides has made; however his certainty that water is involved somehow prompted me to examine this. I don't have a theory about the connection, but I am a fan of composing as much information as possible as far as correlations, oddities, facts etc. I met Mr. Paulides and he reiterated as he has on C2C previously, that when they began to pin-map robbery suspects there is usually a bubble around their residence. Just something to think about. Thoughts?

The aquifer is supposed to dry up in the next few decades. Obviously this means that farmers will have to use far less water. How will this affect US food production? Are we going to see a decrease in output? A change in crop types?
Why are democrats focusing on the impact that the Keystone XL pipeline might have on the climate change instead of focusing on the risk to the Ogallala aquifer? It seems like they could make this a huge local issue for Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma. They could even make it into a states rights issue.
