A list of puns related to "Necrophagist"
[ Message to the community]
I just wanted to say this was probably the most ambitious project I've done, trying to decipher and transcribe this long-awaited song. I have attempted to do my best into making a close to 100% accurate representation on this song, with only getting so close. With the support of everyone who supported this long task, I believe I got the closest I got with this tab finally. Through close listening and some revisions, I can be safe to assume this is as close as it can get as of now.
To every necrophagist fan, tech death fan, metalhead, guitarist, etc. Here is the last I will do to help get this song an unofficial recording.
These two videos were the main source of reference I used:
Necrophagist-Dawn and Demise.MPG - YouTube
Necrophagist - Dawn And Demise.mp4 - YouTube

Feel free to ask any questions you may have! Also for anyone thinking of covering this song or making a playthrough, feel free to edit any parts you may think are a bit inaccurate or wrong, since some parts, especially the verses, were really hard to make out.
I wish everyone a good day/night, and hope to see something come out of this :)
Title seems a bit confusing but just trying to find new bands that continued the sound of Necrophagist Post-Epitaph. Iβve already heard of bands like Obscura, Beyond Creation, A Loathing Requiem, but wanted to look for more lesser known bands.
I recently came across Virophacus which honestly has one of the closest things to a 3rd album. Any other bands you all recommend?
Hi folks, one of our writers recently sat down (over Zoom) with Christian Muenzner. It was really fun to learn how he and his bands put together such technical music, especially over this pandemic where they can't often be together.
We're hoping to do more interviews and features on DM and Tech DM (I'm planning a Hath interview ahead of the new album for example) so please do check this out and send any requests for interviews etc and we'll see what we can do!

(Edit) I updated the tab slightly in one particular section since it was one note off but still the same nonetheless!
(CRITICAL UPDATE Edit) I had a look back at the tab, and I updated the whole rhythm section during the solo, so if any of you already have downloaded it, I strongly suggest downloading the updated tab
Hey all just wanted to give you guys another update to the Necrophagist tab I did a couple of months back, finally getting 95 percent accuracy! Some changes I did to this tab was the overhaul of the verses on the guitars and bass, since I took more time into listening closely to the live video performances and fingerings. While not 100% accurate it is still the closest to the videos. I also sped up the track slightly to match the live version as well. This will probably be my last edit to this tab since it was a lot of dedication and time into this, and because I have school and other things keeping me busy, so feel free to edit it!
Feel free to check it out, cover the song, make any edits or improvements, and give feedback! \m/
I also took the liberty of exporting to gpx as well for other tab program Link to file(s)

The past couple days i've went back to relisten to obscura and i've got to say really really like them, especially their last 2 albums with that very prog style. So can i get some suggestions for some prog tech death similar to them?
I posted something similar a couple of months back on Reddit but I wanted to share this with this subreddit, but as you know Necrophagist had the song Dawn And Demise played in live shows a few times during their last years of playing. Itβs the only song to feature 7 strings as we know of. I took the liberty into trying to recreate a close accurate tablature of the entire song on Guitar Pro 7, and I just wanted to share this with whoever I could to get a more close cover of this song.
Feel free to edit the tab more accurately and share with people and even cover it!

Hey everyone new user here, but just wanted to share this project ive been working on these past couple of days now. As you know Peripheral Cortex made their own cover of the unreleased song Dawn And Demise, to which while nailing down a lot of the song has some inaccuracies, in terms of some sections in the song. Iβm working my best to try to get close to the version that Necrophagist played live while improvising in some areas, since itβs really hard to hear the instruments besides the drums at times. I have a decent amount of the tab done so far, and Iβll share the tab once I get to around 80-90ish complete for anyone who is interested in learning it or would want to improve it
Iβll be posting links to the tab pictures down below over time::)

Update : I made a new tab that fixes some of the things of the original tab as well as editing a few parts to sound more closely to the original:)
The wait is finally over for this, and Iβm honestly proud of myself for going through with this and not giving up! After spending hours on trying to decipher and tab this song, I believe I got to as close as I could get to the song. While it isnβt the exact same as Muhammad wrote, I feel like itβs the closest we will ever get for now. While tabbing this I had a lot of trouble with finding the right time signatures, so I did my best to put them in one that works. Bass was the hardest thing to work on imo mostly due to the fact that itβs hard to hear it from the live videos, while with drums I had trouble finding the right parts since each video has different fills and such.
Questions You May Have
Q: How long did it take you to tab everything? A: Honestly it took me a couple of weeks, mostly due to school and other things getting in the way.
Q: May I use this tab as part of a cover? A: Yes of course! I did this project just to give people the closest they could to the real song!
Q: Will you be doing a full band cover of the song? A: Not at the moment, since Iβm not that skilled when it comes to playing leads and most Necrophagist songs, but hopefully once I improve I will!
Q: May I edit this further to make it more accurate? A: Yes of course!

I wish the best of luck and my support for anyone who covers this!:) \m/
In search of one of these tour hoodies (L, XL, or XXL) if anyone has one theyβre willing to sell or trade. I have some other cool Necrophagist stuff I might be willing to trade for it too. π€
I am coming from a progressive-metal background. I discovered The Faceless early 2020. I like these bands I found out (wikipedia says it if I am wrong just correct me) they are tech death. I like this stuff. I want more. Γ am open to recommendations.
Sorry guys, it's April 1st.
Hereβs the YouTube link. It took a few nights to learn and there is plenty of room for improvement, but it was a really fun process. Iβm hoping one day Iβll be able to learn the second half, but weβll see.
here are 24 of necrophagist songs. (5 from the album "Requirems of fested gore", 2 from the album "Necrophagist", 8 from the album "Onset of Putrefraction", 8 from the album "epitaph". also includes a necrophagist concert of the song "Dawn and Demise" i tried best on editing.) =)
alrightee, here's the download link for the old + new songs: clickthelink2download
