Gallaudet says it holds regular tours like any other college campus for prospective students and the general public, and if one is hearing and needs an interpreter they can furnish one.
I'm moving away from DC and have done pretty much all the landmarks, monuments, and museums. I've been to quite a few university campuses in this city and taken classes as enrichment on them. There isn't much left to see in this city that I haven't seen.
However, Gallaudet is a place I have virtually zero knowledge of. Never stepped on its campus. But I've driven past it and known it's there. I'm interested in checking it out and learning about it through a tour.
Would that be offensive to the deaf community if I joined such a tour, which I would probably stick out and be obvious since I would need a speaking interpreter on a tour, and everyone else was a deaf or hard of hearing prospective student there to decide whether to go to that school--and I was just a regular old community member who everyone could tell doesn't know barely any ASL and has no direct connection to deafness in my personal life? How would people react and would they think I don't belong and wonder why I was there?
I never really payed attention to the University of Arkansas gymnastics, but since Jordyn Wieber was made head coach it peaked my interest. Iβm only a casual fan of college gymnastics and I know they have Florida, LSU, and Alabama to deal with in conference, and they also have to deal with UCLA, Utah, and Oklahoma out of conference.
So I figured I ask the more dedicated fans on this sub for your opinions, can they win the conference or a national title in Jordynβs first year or will it take a year or two to be championships contenders?
