Revised Timeline for Independence for Asia, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and the Pacific, With Respect to Future Plans of the British Government Relating to Singapore, Malta, Jamaica, Bahamas, Belize, Guyana, Other Caribbean Islands, Fiji, and Kiribati.
With the success of the East Africa Conference, the independence of Kuwait, Sierra Leone, East Africa and the ongoing negotiations for the ending of protectorates in the remaining Gulf states, as well as living up to a promise to release further independence timelines as initiated in the timeline for Africa published last year, the British Government has seen fit to publish a series of revised new timelines for independence across the remaining holdings of the Empire. This includes East Asia, Caribbean territories, the Mediterranean (aka Malta), and the far flung Pacific islands.
Note that while most colonies will be granted independence without major discussion with the British Government, plans for future talks with Singapore, Malta, Jamaica, Bahamas, Belize, Guyana (and the other Caribbean Islands), Fiji and Kiribati are in the works- Her Majestyβs government has plans for these territories and protectorates that require special attention. Territories not listed in the timelines should be assumed to be kept as British territory (or go the same way they did IRL).

The Malta Freeport is a bustling trade hub situated right in the middle of the Mediterranean. As we have no clear records on the size of the other ports in the Mediterranean trade zone, we conclude that the Malta Freeport is the second largest port(first being Valencia). A total of 5.35 million TEU's are going through the Freeport every year. After the completion of the expansion, we expect the total number of TEU's to double to 10.7 million TEU's every year, making it the largest port in the Mediterranean.

With the growth of the port, we expect a large GDP growth to follow. At the moment, we are growing at a rate of 6% every year, while our population growth has stayed steady at 1%. This means our citizens are getting richer, however, they are getting older. Many new jobs will be opening up at the port, we suspect around 5,000 new jobs. From operating cranes, to crunching numbers. The Malta Freeport expansion will be complete in about 2.5 years.

If you haven't heard of these guys they are creating a historically accurate photo-realistic Titanic in Unreal Engine. I found this documentary to be informative, and is presented credibly by military officials. The entire documentary is in Russian with English subtitles, so while I didn't pause and write down every sentence I did take note of what I found interesting.
US and Russian naval services were reporting impossible feats, unknown objects that had features of submarines but also that of aircraft. They would cruise under water ahead of naval assets and then take off out of the water, into the sky with supersonic speed.
These USOs (Unidentified Submerged Objects) became of increasing concern after connecting their involvement to the mysterious disappearances of military submarines. Within the first 5 months of 1968, 3 submarines had disappeared. In January, Israel's "Dakar" disappeared in the Mediterranean Sea. In May, French "Minerve" disappeared in the Atlantic, and the pride of the US maritime fleet "Scorpion" also disappeared in May. The only common denominator in these cases were mysterious objects around the submarines.

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
I really enjoy this sub. But I would just like to provide perspective.
First, yes. Everything is about to go to shit. Not just kinda shit, but semi to total global. A larger scale of shit than we've ever known before. When this happens, there will be significant backsliding in society.
Environmental, floura and fauna, food, social, militant, healthcare, health, finance, technology, knowledge, general war, mass migration, etc. The arctic is melting 4x faster than predicted, and an ice sheet the size of Florida is about to break off in the foreseeable future. It'll then release cubic billions if not trillions of water that'll flood the coasts by 1-5 feet in the next 5 years. That's going to cause mass migration as well as economic shifts humanity doesn't have a calculation for.
All of it likely to happen, and even if only half of the things (we talk about on this sub) come to fruition, it's still more than enough to ruin society's balance.
Now the good news.
You (we) known it's coming. We have a fairly good idea of what it will cause. We are the proverbial insider traders.
Now that we've established it's going to happen, you need to shift your focus away from looking at the massive car wreck on the other side of the road and focus on driving YOUR CAR. you can't control the other car wreck, or the traffic you're sitting in because of rubber neckers, all you can do is control how YOU drive YOUR car to not get into a follow-on accident.
But if you're feeling overwhelmed, I want you to consider several cataclysmic events.
1 - "The" asteroid hits the earth, wipes out the dinosaurs and kill 75% of life on earth. This means 25% survived.
2 - The Bronze age ended because a 400 year drought in the Mediterranean brought about war and an end to local trade, and the 1-4% of the population who were smart and capable died off or went into survival mode. The economies shifted, reestablished, and bronze started re-trading 50 to 100 years later.
3 - The dark ages. And the Renaissance happened. Ironically the dark ages only happened in Europe. The rest of the world was fine.

I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
Greetings fellow chums of the amazing fiction, intersecting history, mythos and occasional silly ditties of Thomas Pynchon's Against the Day . Sounds like several appreciated the extra reading time of a week's break. I took on these sections last Monday and hope it gives us something to work with. I love this part of the book where we continue to look deeper into the social setting of this time between the 19th and 20th centuries and continue to follow the key American characters of the novel. My goal in a summary is to pare things down to a bare-bones plot summary. The rich description, the comic and tragic, the artful thoughts that delve into every facet of life and history are set aside in order to see the core action of the story. This is helpful to my mind for overview, to see large patterns and to aid memory.
